2017-02-15 13:42
Wtf? There was plenty of people with thousand hours of kz and hns on 1.6, back then in 1.6 movement mods were really funny and addictive.
2017-02-15 17:51
+1.. people forget that 1.6 had a lot of different mods, and there were people who literally only played their favorite mod(s), such as warcraft 3 etc there are people with those kinds of hours in nothing but hns, easily.

The disco doplan situation where he started in CSGO is fake. When he applied for teams in the past he always said that he started when he was 12. It's a lie that he started in csgo.

Well,I highly doubt that Niko started out with cs 1.6 since 1999 while he's 19 currently, now he obviously might play cs 1.6 while he was still young, but I dont think that he played out at any higer competitive levels, same as most of the pros that are 19 or younger
2017-02-15 09:46
Niko was a big name already in 1.6, doesn't have to mean he started 1999. But as an example you brought up, Niko indeed played 1.6 for a long time, travelling to LAN tournaments and such.

Well,I dont know a lot about 1.6,I played it casually here and there against bots etc. and I dont have a clue about 1.6 lans so I can't really talk too much about it,but Niko is currently 19(20-tomorrow its his birthday),cs go was released in 2012>niko was 13/14..so how much expirience can someone gain and how much exatcly can one player travel while being at that age?
2017-02-15 12:22
Yeah I can very well see your point here, but nevertheless he played 1.6 and made a name too. Didn't even think of how young he actually was until you pointed it out.

But look at the frozen for example,he's currently 14..look at the teams against which he's competiting>t3
2017-02-15 13:03
It's surprising how young many players are. n0thing was prolly 14 when he started to get recognized, GTR too.

The only 14 yo that was recognized was neo. The other guys (gtr, nothing etc.) started to make a name by the age of 17-18. Gtr was playing in giants (later lemondogs) in 08-09 and joined fnatic roster by the age of 19. f0rest was perhaps the other youngstar. He was 16yo when he played in begrip and participated in the cpl winter where he was praised and called the next CS rockstar.
2017-02-15 13:53
Don't know what you mean then by "making name" because n0thing was 16 when he got a contract. So he made name well before that.

I meant international recognition. Nothing wasn't really a name before EG.
2017-02-15 14:36

Denmark qwedsa
I remember the name, but not age etc. so can't tell. But the best is with no doubt, element.
2017-02-15 18:52
REAL was 16 when he started playing 1.6 in the pro scene (2005). IMO he's better than elemeNt because he had the best raw skill compared to the other Norwegians and he was the best Norwegian player at performing against the swedes (When they were on the top of the scene). 1-REAL 2-elemeNt 3-prb I think olofmeister said the same thing about this..

Denmark qwedsa
wtf was wrong with him then, because I don't remember seeing him play for the big teams
2017-02-15 19:05
He played with good teams. when he was with 'Team 9' which was a good team, he won CPL 2005 against NiP and placed 3rd on WEG 2005 behind NiP and wNv (They were on top of the scene at that time). Next year he played with 'Team Catch' which was OK (They had a bit of really good old school Norwegian players but they didn't do good in tournaments). At the end of the year he reunited with elemeNt and prb in 'MYM' and managed to get 2nd in CPL winter 2006 after losing to fnatic.. but after that the team didn't play good enough and got placed like 5-6th in the next tournaments.. then he went to try source and he sucked major time.. In cs 1.6, players in teams that aren't top tier didn't get that much spotlight..
2017-02-16 09:15
XeqtR is better than elemeNt and real
2017-02-16 09:26
Debatable.. I mean in terms of achievements definitely, but keep in mind that XeqtR played with the top teams.

Thanks for enlighting me. While something told me I've heard the name, it was totally erased from my memory. Just lack of time/interest to pay attention to the "lower" tier teams I guess with all kind of stuff going on back then in life. Not that things has changed to much better nowadays =D
2017-02-16 13:28
If you mean the Swedish Niko the awper? yeah not the NiKo we have now.. Niko the one who played 1.6 retired when cs go got released, he said he won't play such a shit game..
2017-02-15 18:41
No I mean NiKo, mouz NiKo.
2017-02-16 08:13
He didn't play in the pro scene of 1.6, he didn't even play the game.
2017-02-16 09:00
Why would you even argue something like that? No, he wasn't a professional player in the modern sense but you can so easily look it up. He did play 1.6 for a long time. You can just google it in like a minute.
2017-02-16 09:42
Well maybe he played cs 1.6 but not professionally and that invalidates your statement "Niko was a big name already in 1.6, doesn't have to mean he started 1999. But as an example you brought up, Niko indeed played 1.6 for a long time, travelling to LAN tournaments and such."
2017-02-16 11:30
I don't think it does. It depends on what you consider as "big name". He got offered contracts and had youtube full of videos. He made his name already back then, if you weren't there to witness that why even start an argument?
2017-02-16 14:58
he was a semi-pro, I guess he even was pretty well known in Balkans back then
