is CS dying? Every day less spectators, less players interested

In Brazil I can say That Cs is Growing up every day

2017-05-19 04:48
Cs started spreading a lot more in Brazil because of Sk good moment,sk players call a lot of attention for other brazilians get into the game, thats the main reason.

thats normal, half the time between one major and the other people kinda lose interest in playing csgo, when the major comes they get pumped to buy stickers and play again, but what csgo really needs is another operation

why operation though? They are super boring. There are some things that I would like though; Would like to see a new competitive map(ex. tuscan). Change casual-mode to more fastpaced/ adding new modes.
2017-05-19 17:48
Have you even played an operation? what you listed for things you want to see is literally what they've done for every operation lmao.

not new comp map every operation I\m afraid :/ I don't like the "challenges" for operation (get 20k with sawed off on valve dm). Just my opinion though, I don't like the operations, but everyone else seem to.

I don't know what you are disagreeing with, but seeing twitch's csgo streamers in the face of shroud, stewie2k and etc. back in the day they had like 20k+ constant viewers when they were streaming... now they are stuck around 5-7k at max.
2017-05-19 05:09

2017-05-20 05:24
CS is a dead game anyways... I haven't seen a change since... I don't know when. The only thing valve did was to remove the revolver and the negev for a bit of time and change its prices and a couple other things that doesn't have anything to do with the game. Just putting random things into the game that doesn't make sense to the players and adding more skins so they can get the most out of this game until its time.

That doesn't mean it's dying, that means you don't like how Valve are developing the game. The player count is still steadily going up and it's growing in other regions such as the Asias. Also the viewer count for the majors has yet to decrease and I wouldn't be surprise if it hit 2 million across all platforms for Krakow.
2017-05-20 05:27
Lol, don't mix fanbase of a player and interest of peoples into real CSGO matches lol. I like CS, but never I will look a stream of "a single player". "but seeing twitch's csgo streamers in the face of shroud, stewie2k and etc. back in the day they had like 20k+ constant viewers when they were streaming..." They had there hour of glory, that's all.
2017-05-19 07:02

2017-05-19 19:41
shroud never had 20k+ constant viewers. I have been following him since 2014. He has had around 10k viewers most of the time with spikes up to 25k viewers. On top of that, he has been streaming other games lately, that's why his viewership is lower.

because the players are bored with the same old maps, and the same old plebs who one tap while moving like me, i`m just watching some interesting matches, and playing 2-3 times a week a casual game this game didn`t evolved, all the tweaks valve made, they made them because they wanted plebs with no skill to play it
2017-05-19 07:10
they are the main source of income for them, cod:go = 90% noobs 10% skilled players

yes csgo has been ded for long time. it is just a rotting corpse now
2017-05-19 05:15
CS:GO has lost some popularity, but I think it's because it's gaining at about the same rate that it's losing fans. Major events (assuming it's either on Twitch or TV) still get about the same number of views. There has been a slight drop because of uncommon time zones or by organizers thinking money from YouTube is better than user experience.
2017-05-19 05:24
some kid from my school picked up CS and hit ESEA A+ in less than a year, his explanation : "I use to play source" then just stopped playing around the same time some popular cheats stopped updating i'm sick about it :/ occasional MM is fun but pro scene is just aimbots and offset, i'll watch ELEAGUE LAN (actual controls surrounding player equipment = no cheating) but still some of the teams have 3/5 players cheating in the qualifiers, they get there and are total noobs saying shit like "my aim is not so good today" so even that isn't good CS.

Rather the gambling scandal
2017-05-19 11:31
I'm pretty sure it's because of the fucking YouTube streams. ESL(EPL) and ECS are now using YouTube instead of twitch for their weekly matches - which will hinder people like me with a shitty laptop to watch in bed, and cba to go on desktop to watch there, or use my iphone with the little screen. With twitch you can use Streamlink to watch best quality available without lagging (If you have shitty laptops, and trust me - people do) and of course it's more convenient with streamlink itself. I still see like 40-60k viewers on weekly matches, which is not too bad. Unless its FaZe, G2, SK, VP (haHAA) its most likely not going to even hit 40k. Real question is why some people think CSGO is dying, like wtf? Ever played MMORPG? Yea, that's a DYING genre, populated as fuck @launch (its a given) and then people drop off like flies. CSGO is in a healthy state, and its nowhere going to become a wasteland in the near future

no Source engine 2 , no fun, after every fuckin update less and less fps... I remember when this game was just released , i had 300~ fps ... Now I have 150 fps, it's sick I guess... Still same shit like it was in the past , near smoke 90 fps +- in smoke 200+... Cant even play cache/inferno normally, cause gettin lag spikes, fps drops. Meanwhile Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege smooth as fck I remember when it was 1.6 ... A lot of players had 60/100 fps locked... There was way less " i have more fps than u , your pc sucks "

agree. cheaters brought down playerbase. we would be constantly at 1 mill+ if there were less cheating.

For me personally, my interest in CS GO has increased as of late due to production value getting better and better. Spactating getting better, casting getting better, analysts getting better, players getting better. Everything is getting better, even the game itself is getting better (slowly, but surely). Back int the days, it was nothing like this. The only thing that kept the game alive until today is our passion to play CS, it's thanks to us the game is what it is today.

If were talking about viewer count theres yet to be a decline in viewership for a major. On top of that Summit, Tim, and JoshOG all pretty much stopped consistently streaming CS:GO which was well over half of the viewer count when it was getting the amount of views many people are talking about.
2017-05-20 05:25
To be honest, it started getting worse after the animation and hitbox update in 2015. After that, I've been noticing my FPS getting lower and lower after every update. I remember when I used to run this game at 299fps stable, now I get 180-240fps most of the time, and some framedrops to 120-130 depending on what I'm doing (playing DM FFA, maybe Nuke/Inferno on 128tick, etc). The gambling "ban" was also a major problem imo, since it fucked all the skins price. Trading got harder as well, I remember when I used to profit a lot just by trading on CSGL, and nowadays it's much harder. I'm only playing CSGO because that's what we have atm, though I dropped from 60-80 hours in 2 weeks to 10-20.
2017-05-20 05:32
How was the animation + hitbox updates bad? These kind of updates has brought this game from being average to good. Also, I think it was a good thing to stop the insanity of the skins. An economy built on illegal(underage) betting is not good for a game.

2017-05-20 07:04
There are periods(right after rank-reset), that the ranking system is weird(moving people to their new ranks), rest of the time it is working fine (logically as it should)

Was it ESL Cologne 2015 where you see huge crowd in the arena? I feel like 2014/2015 was the prime time of CS:GO, 2016 was shittiest due to gambling ban, skin price crash, 2017 was just huge stalemate due to no operation for 10 months already, and they spend most of their resource on preparing the game for Perfect World. But hopefully, they can succeed marketing the game for China and then infect South Korea/Japan and the rest of the Asian continent. If the rumored big update in Summer turns out to be shit, this game is done for good.
