In Brazil I can say That Cs is Growing up every day
Yet to have a major that has decreased viewer count, lets see how this one guys.
thats normal, half the time between one major and the other people kinda lose interest in playing csgo, when the major comes they get pumped to buy stickers and play again, but what csgo really needs is another operation
For me cs is dead since jun / 2k16.
disagree, i noticed a lot more viewers in every game in comparison to some time ago (maybe 6months/1year or 2)
yes csgo has been ded for long time. it is just a rotting corpse now
CS:GO has lost some popularity, but I think it's because it's gaining at about the same rate that it's losing fans. Major events (assuming it's either on Twitch or TV) still get about the same number of views. There has been a slight drop because of uncommon time zones or by organizers thinking money from YouTube is better than user experience.
some kid from my school picked up CS and hit ESEA A+ in less than a year, his explanation : "I use to play source"
then just stopped playing around the same time some popular cheats stopped updating
i'm sick about it :/ occasional MM is fun but pro scene is just aimbots and offset, i'll watch ELEAGUE LAN (actual controls surrounding player equipment = no cheating) but still some of the teams have 3/5 players cheating in the qualifiers, they get there and are total noobs saying shit like "my aim is not so good today" so even that isn't good CS.
Unfortunately skins make this game alive , nothing more...
cs scene is growing finland very much
i think its stagnant, not growing nor dying honestly
Over 1 million people watched the ELEAGUE major, so no.
It's only gaining more and more unique players or at least since I last checked.
too many cheaters ofc it's going to die
i will be very happy if this happens
cs:go is dead since awp nerf
I'm pretty sure it's because of the fucking YouTube streams. ESL(EPL) and ECS are now using YouTube instead of twitch for their weekly matches - which will hinder people like me with a shitty laptop to watch in bed, and cba to go on desktop to watch there, or use my iphone with the little screen.
With twitch you can use Streamlink to watch best quality available without lagging (If you have shitty laptops, and trust me - people do) and of course it's more convenient with streamlink itself.
I still see like 40-60k viewers on weekly matches, which is not too bad. Unless its FaZe, G2, SK, VP (haHAA) its most likely not going to even hit 40k.
Real question is why some people think CSGO is dying, like wtf? Ever played MMORPG? Yea, that's a DYING genre, populated as fuck @launch (its a given) and then people drop off like flies. CSGO is in a healthy state, and its nowhere going to become a wasteland in the near future
It'll grow probably as wastelands get better computers and are able to play something else than dota2
For me cs is dead since august 2016
Stop saying kys...It means piss in swedish...
no Source engine 2 , no fun, after every fuckin update less and less fps... I remember when this game was just released , i had 300~ fps ... Now I have 150 fps, it's sick I guess... Still same shit like it was in the past , near smoke 90 fps +- in smoke 200+... Cant even play cache/inferno normally, cause gettin lag spikes, fps drops.
Meanwhile Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege smooth as fck
I remember when it was 1.6 ... A lot of players had 60/100 fps locked... There was way less " i have more fps than u , your pc sucks "
Maybe. Csgo is barely on top5 of twitch anymore.
With all cheaters and bad updates from valve the game is shit and no one cares.
The only reason people "watch" majors are for souvernir drops.
obviously not, but i think it will if it doesn't get some love soon.
i've heard that they are working on big things though.
Lost my interest when I became a competitive player rather than just causally playing, no idea why
ofcourse its dying but aslong as its there you will still have a good sized communnity. however they will all be cheaters. played a mmo before similar story you come back and check it out but 98% playing are just bots. i see the samething happening with cs but the community will only be ppl cheating.
some awful updates along the years made it dead for me
For me personally, my interest in CS GO has increased as of late due to production value getting better and better. Spactating getting better, casting getting better, analysts getting better, players getting better. Everything is getting better, even the game itself is getting better (slowly, but surely).
Back int the days, it was nothing like this. The only thing that kept the game alive until today is our passion to play CS, it's thanks to us the game is what it is today.
Fuck I miss those good old csgolounge betting times. reading those sway comments and getting cancer.
11.3 milion unique player this month, I think it's still growing !
Already dead for me...uninstalled few days ago...the game has become stale without new content and decent updates...with cherry of cheaters on top...
CSGO needs improvement on graphics and news maps
less people watching =/=less people playing
Pubg is killing CSGO more
its dying since the day of betting ban. betting is a very important part of any sport, valve acted like idiots when doing it
when valve banned csgolounge they killed more than half of spectators
only major have same amount of spectators like before gambling crash.
Since 2016 CS is boring as fuck.
of course u dont have a lot of viewers on a qualifier match for the minor qualifier of the major qualifier of the major itself...
fix hitbox and csgo grow up again
i definitely don't think so
Prize pools are also dwindling, is all due to the death of betting last year.
becauyse nobody likes to watch a ump pistol spam
If were talking about viewer count theres yet to be a decline in viewership for a major. On top of that Summit, Tim, and JoshOG all pretty much stopped consistently streaming CS:GO which was well over half of the viewer count when it was getting the amount of views many people are talking about.
To be honest, it started getting worse after the animation and hitbox update in 2015. After that, I've been noticing my FPS getting lower and lower after every update. I remember when I used to run this game at 299fps stable, now I get 180-240fps most of the time, and some framedrops to 120-130 depending on what I'm doing (playing DM FFA, maybe Nuke/Inferno on 128tick, etc).
The gambling "ban" was also a major problem imo, since it fucked all the skins price. Trading got harder as well, I remember when I used to profit a lot just by trading on CSGL, and nowadays it's much harder.
I'm only playing CSGO because that's what we have atm, though I dropped from 60-80 hours in 2 weeks to 10-20.
Skin bubble popped, flusha never got banned
Valve played CSGO fast and loose when they could have played slow and safe... Shame
not dying, but ppl are quiting ....i havent quit, but did sell all my skins on the market and buying new games and saving the rest for the summer sale ...
but i play csgo like maybe once a week now ....i may play more if they fix/change the ranking system ..but as it stands, its to much of a headache, u win 6games in a row dont rank up, than u play a 7th and lose it, and derank? lol after that day, i basically quit
Was it ESL Cologne 2015 where you see huge crowd in the arena?
I feel like 2014/2015 was the prime time of CS:GO, 2016 was shittiest due to gambling ban, skin price crash, 2017 was just huge stalemate due to no operation for 10 months already, and they spend most of their resource on preparing the game for Perfect World.
But hopefully, they can succeed marketing the game for China and then infect South Korea/Japan and the rest of the Asian continent. If the rumored big update in Summer turns out to be shit, this game is done for good.
yes it is dying, game needs something new
