Should I quit my job?
 |
Norway Denzil
I work on a norwegian fishing vessel, and have a pretty over average sallery, but i work 6week on and off. aka no cs for 6-7weeks. should i quit my job to play more cs, and find a boring 9-5 bad paying job?

Fishing job gets u tons of money+u get rly ripped there. Ez to get grills in the town also with that much money. But is it worth it? 6 weeks from home, smell like a rotten fish, no where to go on the ocean... If u are an ocean man, then go for fishing, but if u will have home and social life, then save ur money and choose another job

Keep your job bro. Save your money, and when time will come, you'll be able to change your job with a fuckton of money in the bank, so you won't have to change your lifestyle if you get a less paying job. Also, you need projects, and CS isn't one.
2017-08-29 06:20
not like OP is going to have millions in the bank from that job, so it wouldn't make much difference. e.g. I work full time but these days I make quite a bit in the stock market and FOREX market too.

135k to 200k a year, even in Norway, is fucking huge tbh Whenever he leave his job, he should at least own his house and everything huge he'll ever need. Then, no rent nor loan to pay, whatever his new salary is he'll be fine.
2017-08-29 06:38
nvm, did not notice the 135k to 200k a year salary... that is insane for such job lol what the fuck... that is WAY above average, if not more than double the average. if you're earning that for a job without much qualification then by all means stick with it bro, even I'm jelly. I thought you meant just above average which would be easier to fill the gap or margin of difference if you made the career transition.

yeah even here the salery is quite big, worst thing is, you dont have to have any kind of education to start working on fishing vessels, and if you so a good job in the start, a well paying boat will come around. i got education tho, but my older brother, who made me go this way didnt even finish lower highschool, drop out, and started working on fishing vessels, got 1mil nok a year, that that was my reason to chase this line of work

Tbh, it sounds quite fun. And I don't know how much this earnings means in terms of life quality and everything. But you have 6 fucking weeks off, where u can do whatever u want. It's more freedom than u will ever get in a normal job. Use this time to travel, get laid and enjoy life and sometimes play cs, mate. It will be better than get something than doing the same shit all day during a year to eventually have some vacation. On the other hand, don't do it in the long term if u plan to have a family and such.

definitely keep your job if you like it. plus, people in 9-5 jobs most of the time never get 6 weeks vacations. if they are lucky they get long weekends and that's it. you are very lucky you have a high-paying job you like and get 6-7 weeks off consistently. the only con is time spent away from home which i think is fair and not even that bad.

Stick with your job. 6 weeks work and then 6 weeks off sounds like heaven to me. working a 9-5 job like some regular slave will drain you to the point where you don't have energy or motivation to play CS after work. only in the weekends. also 6 weeks off gives you time to do so much other shit you won't find the time to do with a regular job
