CSGO NOT DYING
 |
United Kingdom PeterNoMore
Listen here, boys, CSGO is THE ONLY self perpetuating esport in current existance. The only game that in it's core is SO GOOD that it didn't require massive interruption of the developers to evolve it into one of the most successful esports ever. Look at other competitors: Dota 2 - Regular updates, insanely huge prized and a shitload of marketing, League - weekly reforms of the game and a fuck ton of changes to keep the game fresh. Now take a look at the viewership numbers. CSGO is as watched, if not even more in most of the cases. CSGO has evolved into a similar state like football, basketball, rugby and similar real life sport. It's so deeply ingrained as an esport, not just a game, that many people chose not to play it, but just watch it. That is what I believe will be the reason for csgo to stay relevant for many years to come, with or without the help of development team.

Could you elaborate more on the "Forced core subject?"

The skins is the force.

CS:GO is more of a spectator sport like Football, not many of us still play it but almost all of us watch the big matches

Map pool should rotate more seriouslty it would make the game SO much interesting the skill of adapting as well bring back modified d2 + thrill from operation + season and remove three maps Im not saying CS should be CoD and we play insertion or something but a little bit of variation the anti argument is "too have the same 7 fucking maps really proves who is the best" The best in what? copying other ppls strats and tryharding the meta is so fucking boring everyone plays the same strats

You really don't understand the game if you think everyone are playing the same strats :D Just look a game from Envyus times in cobble lets say and SK cobble nowadays. Day and night. I'm not saying that the game doesn't need improvements, but I'm saying it's GOOD ENOUGH not to be dying

Idiot I didnt say exactly the same we still see different style like SK organized dominant, G2 agressive aim style BIG old school etc but its too much developed meta on some maps like cache The meta is just too developed so the games become boring The meta was much smaller before and we saw more difference now teams are just too good, the played the maps so many times they just know how to strat everytime and its down to timings

Nice way to start a point buddy. Take a chill pill, no need to call names in an argument to stay relevant. You literally said COPYING, which in essence is EXACT SAME. Cache is an old map, it's destined to have been figured out by now. In addition to being old, it's SIMPLE. Really really easy layout etc. But these kind of maps lets the individual skill of certain players shine. This map take the game to a more simple, yet still beautiful to spectate state. Aim and core mechanics play a crucial role there, since starts have been figured out. It gives a new perspective, so even thought it's old and not strategically intense, it has its own charm and a place in the game.

Okay I agree that was not relevant from me. I like the chesslike thing. Like, I wouldnt wanna give the chessplayer new carachters and new rules, new playboards. I do want CS to have a meta, and a known map pool. And not maps like insertion (if u heard about it). I like the CS model maps, A, B , Mid. I just want a ROTATION in maps THis operation had great maps like Thrill with a complex mid which would be superfun to watch with loads of strategies to pull off. In thrill we could see like 10-12 different mid strats from CTs to rekk terrorists. That map would be boring too but it would take 1+ year. Then rotate it off.

I see your point of the need of rotations. Completely agree with that. This would immensely help the game.

Tbh the reason for CSGO's success in competitive scene is because if HLTV. I would have never known about any teams if it wasn't for this site.

The thing is, the the game was good enough, to forge a community. Ofc, hltv isn't the product of CSGO, but the prowess of the game really made HLTV as a community what it is today

First and foremost, you didn't get my point. What I meant was that CSGO doesn't need the plethora of updates to stay relevant, that's the beauty of it. And what is more, PUBG is a new game. It's literally not finished and not sold as a complete full released game. Early access is the key here. A new game, which is good, is MEANT to have a lot of updates.

Yee... cs go is a "complete" game and it runs like Stephen Hawking. Its fine... Don't need more fixes. Add more cases! We need cases!

Never have I stated that it's a complete game. Never have I said it's perfect. Just saying that new games are bound to be updated frequently, because they are new, the are flawed. That's normal. CS comparing the PUBG is a complete game. It runs smooth on the shittiest piece of hardware and its existing bugs are so small, that we basically need to search really closely to find what actually needs fixing. Not talking about vac or anything of this caliber. It''s broken and it needs fixing. just saying, that CSGO is not dying. And not to bash on PUBG. I think it's a great game. Best of its genre.

csgo will stick around because at least one version of cs, sometimes two, has always been at the forefront of esports. we're talking for the last 15 years or longer. since quake paved the way cs has always been there. it's seen hundreds of competitors come and go and still lasted. there's been three main versions and each of them were at the peak over a long period of time. obviously source was the one lacking but the cgs was groundbreaking even though it failed. it's always pushed he envelope and paved the way for esports. even back when dreamhack was a byopc lan playing cs 1.5 with 50+ teams in attendance. your statement about it not needing massive focus from developer to get where it's at is irrelevant because of the foundation csgo was built on. cs is cs and will (hopefully) always be cs in terms of esports.

well written. But what I meant was that CSGO devs obviously don't work on their game as much as other esports devs do. And it's still flourishing. That's what amazed me. Otherwise, well written, good point buddy.

it's a little sad but I think they realise they don't need to based on what I said. they can afford to be lazy or slow or focus on other games because cs is a steam train that will just keep plowing on.

I agree, but there's still alot to improve and fixes that has to be dealt with as soon as possible, you just cannot compete with each and every new game in a global perspective, those people a head of valve and hidden path entertaiment gotta listen to the real CS community.

You could save your time and check some numbers instead. Your opinion isn't going to force players to play CS:GO again. RIP CS, you've been a good fella. Farewell.
