They're completely different stories and worlds. LOTR is high fantasy, GoT is dark fantasy. It's like asking if Star Wars is better than Alien.
omg how can GoT be on the lead.....
They are different but if I had to choose it would be LotR
lotr > got
anyone who thinks otherwise is brain dead.
Game of Thrones still fresh in peoples minds, still going on, Lotr is just aging now... a shame.
Can't choose man, I love Lotr for being so epic but on the other hand, I like Got because of the personalities and the darkness of the world
its lotr. nothing else needed to be said.
hard to compare a serie with a movie
they both good
The comparison itself is a little silly, in my personal opinion... It's unfair to compare these two titles outright.
LOTR obviously trumps all when it comes to fantasy epics with untold lore and story progression.
The sad thing is that the series changed so much to appeal to plebs that it became lotr and is now comparable. Low IQ entertainment.
LotR > GoT
But GoT is much more entertaining digestible for 2017 pop culture so thats why the poll results.
Plus GoT has tits
GoT has to end before we can compare...if GoT doesnt have good ending 1 day then it loses. But if the story gets really good it could win. But right now it has just been seasons of fighting and no progress, and nothing really happens in 1 episode cause they show 500000 characters for 1 minute each
GoT: Lots of tits
LoTR: No tits
GoT is better.
Wheel of Time better than both imo..
cant compare a 80 hour show to "a" 10 hour movie.
I suppose you could compare the books, but cuz ASOIAF aint done yet= still cant compare yet
but ofc game of thrones iz better I mean we got SOOO faaking many more hours to enjoy + better graphics and shieeet now, iz really isnt a contest. Also just compare Eddard Stark to BOROMIR, BOOM 100% confirmed GOT iz better cuz ned>boromir HEHEHEESKDEEEEE.
I suppose we could compare the last two seasons of GOT (which will be full fantasy/fighting pretty much like lotr) with le triology and then LOTR might actually win, but we gotta see how GOT finish iz firstly.
Lotr can even child understand, while GOT is more political, more smart with 1000000000 of eastern eggs and hidden meanings
I don't even know how is it possible to compare Lotr to Got
lotr is the classic and leads the way for more fantasy worlds to come.
but i prefer GoT, the complexity of the characters is on a whole different level, there is no black or white characters they are all grey. and the dark adult fantasy world which feels "real" makes it better for me.
Sauron is the most boring villain. But I remember a night king flick.
Haven't seen Lotr for +10 years, gotta watch them again :)
Got is very good though.
the fellowship of the ring is my favorite book and maybe even movie for the series
lotr = classy
got = scummy
GoT was great on the early seasons but lately it became rather predictable and cliche af.
Can't really say anything bad about LotR, but still, i would rewatch GoT before rewatching LotR if i had the choice.
LotR for normal people
GoT for weebs
Not even close.
GoT not deserved to be compared to this master piece.
It will never reach the same level.
LotR (98.2%) > GoT (1.8%).
Know your enemy in person, fags.
GOT - top tier series but LOTR will always be #1 in my heart <333333333
Lotr all day fucking long
GoT is the best TV series in the world
got don't deserve to be included in the same conversation as lotr, its a regular series that have less viewers than the big bang theory against a legendary trilogy .
The Lord of the Rings > Game of Thrones
Damn, why to compare? Both histories are diferent and really good in the way it was meant to be, GoT is about plots and intrigue to achieve a goal, LotR transmits the sentiment of loyalty and comradeship (I hope i wrote this right) people feel while fighting for their purposes.
Another huge diference we must take into account is the time at wich both books were written, GoT is decades younger, in a time were prostitution, tons of blood, homossexuality,... are all accepted in a fantasy book. Tolkien was bound to the moral rules of his time, LotR is limited in this way, but not less fantastic or well written
I personally like more LotR, but I can't say one is better than the other.
