So rn i have a gtx 960, i3 2120, 8gb ram, 2 days ago i was playing every map with 150-190fps with windows 10, every driver was updated, everything was fine, since windows 7 is a better os for csgo i decided to reinstall windows and erased everything and installed windows 7, so now there's a problem, im getting 110 fps max with the same setup in a better os for csgo, which tbh is playable but when you have a 144hz monitor like i do, its impossible to play with 110fps. PLS help fix! :/

Where did you hear windows 7 is a better os for csgo? LUL Windows 10 has amazing gaming optimization, you could easily have just looked up (windows 10 vs windows 7 gaming comparison). The only fix will be to go back to windows 10

i saw it on benchmarks, most videos i saw windows 7 had between a 20 to 40 fps raise in comparison with windows 10

Well idk where you've seen that but from what I've seen windows 10 has much better gaming optimization the any previous windows, also most games these days would be optimized to work best on windows 10 including csgo which is constantly updated. So again, ill suggest if you really want to fix fps you should probably go back to windows 10, if not maybe try oc your pc or if it was before check to make sure it's still overclocked after changing os. Also go to settings and change windows visuals to best performance.

thing is i didnt overclock anything, and i already did everything i could to make windows get the best performance possible, but i can barely get 110fps... i did everything in windows 7 that i had done in windows 10 but fps just got worse.
2017-10-23 19:29
Yeah well then its definitely just the os, youll have to switch back if you want to get that better performance again.

mkay then ty for the help, i really thought i would end up having better fps with windows 7...

GPU can serve you another 2 years easily, Throw away that i3, get another stick of 8 gigs and a budget i5 7500 + 1151 mobo and you set ( will cost you probly around 250-300$ )
2017-10-23 19:31
in about two months im going to upgrade to a ryzen 1700 and a new mobo and new 8gb ram
2017-10-23 19:32
alright thats cool, you can keep your ram, add another 8gigs for cheap and with 16 ull be fine
2017-10-23 19:33

had already done the power managment thing and the unparking of cores, what do you mean with usb3 ports, where do i find their drivers, i used driver booster 5 to install all drivers so i assume that was already made
2017-10-23 20:41
> uninstall geforce experience > make sure you configured csgo graphics exactly the same to how it was on Windows 10 > please, never use any programs like driver booster, you easily can find proper drivers by yourself, you only need chipset drivers and usb3 drivers (if you have usb3 ports), you only need to know who's your usb3 stuff manufacturer or you know what? format c: and install windows 10 back, why the fuck to change what works well?

But windows 7 is not better OS in any way. Windows 10 uses less resources, and it's better for older hardware/ boot times are faster game optimization is better constant fixes and updates, security paatches etc. W10 instalation is even smaller than w7. there is not a single reason for degrading from windows 10 to windows 7
