Firefox Quantum

It's amazing. I've been a default Chrome user since it came out and never could fully adopt Firefox due to certain things I didn't like but this new Firefox browser is incredible. The official version comes out tomorrow but you can use the nightly to get it now.

If you guys haven't tried this browser yet you need to! it's incredible! I've been a die hard Chrome user since it came out in the early 2000's and though I always would try and use Firefox and others none ever got me to switch from Chrome. This new Firefox is by far the best browser ever. It's in a class of it's own with nothing even coming close to how good it is. You can load massive websites and threads and nothing even causes it to lag at all. Scrolling is perfect and it never lags.

haha! I actually loaded that thread up to test it a couple days ago and it loaded it in a few seconds and I could scroll all the way to the bottom without any lag or stutter. When I load that thread into Chrome it's a nightmare.

What is the experience if you press the "End" key from the top of the page?

I use FF personally, but Chrome is still faster
2017-11-23 09:03
I don't think it is anymore. Maybe by some super miniscule amount, but in exchange you'll have to give your life to google. I'd say FF wins for now. Only thing is, if you want to check source code of a site, chrome is the only browser you can use easily.

There are benchmarks available. On average page it is about 1:1 which is very nice, but chrome JS engine is still about 2x faster which you can still notice on web pages that uses JS a lot.

Have you used the new Firefox Quantum? It just came out last week. They redid the whole browser and made a completely new engine. It's insane fast and smooth now. Chrome isn't even close to it nor is any other browser. I'll give you an example. Load that 6000+ comment Hot Girls thread here on HLTV into Chrome and watch it lag and stutter terribly because it can't handle it. Now load it into the new Firefox Quantum and it not only loads it instantly, but doesn't stutter or lag even a little bit. I have yet to find anything that cause this browse to drop frames.
2017-11-23 15:18
Was always planning on going to chrome because of it's speed, but kept delaying because i use a lot of plugins. Now i don't have to anymore, but most plugins are now also broken on quantum :'(

That sucks. I don't use many add ons and they all work. I use Origin uBlock, YouTube enhancer, and BTTV, and they all work fine. I'm sure all the extensions and add ons will get fixed soon. I just love Quantum for how freaking smooth it is. I've purposely tried to overload it and nothing makes it lag.

mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ after installing just import everything from chrome -- Then create an account for firefox and it will save everything and you can use it across devices just like Chrome.

The new Firefox Quantum is incredible. I've always been in search of the best browser continually for years and always had things about each I didn't like. I've used Chrome as my default since 2008 and though I use/used FF, Opera, Vivaldi, Yandex, Maxthon, and others none could ever get me to switch from Chrome. The new Firefox Quantum got me to switch. The comparison for me is like playing CSGO at 40fps and then playing it @ 144+fps on a 144hz monitor. Chrome and other browsers constantly drop frames and stutter and lag. I've yet to see Firefox Quantum lag or stutter at all.

I love that feature! I would use Maxthon more if it had a dark theme. I can't stand the white theme though. MX5 is a pretty good browser though.

I've always been a firefox user and I really like quantum but chrome is a good browser no doubt. exchangable imo but still, I prefer firefox. nostalgic reasons I guess.
2017-11-23 23:16
i dont get why the fuck people care about like 0.1s of stutter. who gives a fuck. browser with the most customisation features is vivaldi. best browser for power users. fuck old chrome and all these shitty lite browsers that has been the fashion for last 7 or so years. all shit.

I love Vivaldi. Been using it daily for a couple years. I always use at least 2 browsers because I use two different Google accounts and I have a different browser for each. I was always using Chrome and Vivaldi, but now I'm using FF Quantum and Vivaldi.
2017-11-25 13:10
I have been using Firefox since build 47.0 and frankly, I don't see any visible improvement from 56.0 to 57.0. Maybe placebo, maybe my system is so slow that I can't see the difference but its not as gamechanging as Firefox advertised it to be

Actually it is. If it's not running perfectly smooth for you something is wrong with your system.
2017-11-25 13:08
maybe it is slow. Or maybe 56.0 was fat enough for me

someone needs to make hltv wide for firefox

Reason why firefox doesnt lag etc is probably because you got a bunch of plugins for chrome and none for firefox.
