I prefer touching stories of simple human feelings in Witcher, as Geralt almost always did his deeds for his beloved ones. He doesn't give too much shit about politics, if it doesn't involve his close ones, and he is unlucky that he got to deal with this shit. I think he knows what's the most important in his life, and I perfectly share his vision.
W2 just started on wrong premise, why would he give shit about foltest's conquest? It can be explained of course, and so is Geralt's involvement in politics, but I cannot see w2 more, than a minor episode of his personal life, while in W3 his real story is unfold. And W3 message is very important in life of most people. So I think while politics sure may be fun game, caring for beloved ones and determination of selfless character is far more mature message than w2 could offer for me.
