i7 7700+GTX 1070 frame drops in CS GO
 |
Russia poidos
I just got my new pc with i7 7700 (non k) and GTX 1070 and got 200-250 avg fps, with drops even to 150 fps. I thought my pc could handle CS at 300-400 fps. Im playing in full HD with low preset, multicore on. I've downloaded latest drivers, but still same result. Just for information, i've got Lenovo y520 laptop and avg framerate on it is 150-200. Whats the problem? Any suggestions from guys with the same config?

mb its cuz of ram? I have 8 gb, but its temporary, i've ordered one more RAM module, and gonna check it today. As far as i know ram doesn't influence cs go framerate, but who knows, with all latest updates, what valve changed

are u sure? and with 16 gb ram? i have 200-250 fps rather stable, drops to 150-180 are very rare, and dont bother me. I just dont like the fact i'm not getting framerate which my pc can perform (300-400)

I get 300-400 with 1060, i7 7700k and 8gb ram. Nothing OC'd That's weird.
2017-11-21 13:02
I maxed out at 550-600 FPS with a similar build (16gb ddr4 @ 3300). CPU OC'd to 4.8, and my GPU is OC'd to run at just over 2100. I run it stable at 400 all day on medium settings. It ran way too hot at 550 and eventually folded after an hour or two of play but I cant imagine why you would run so low. Try fps max at 0 and see what happens poidos.
2017-11-21 18:41
Ifind it higly unlikely, berderline impossible that modern intel mobo only supports maximum of 2400 MHz. You most likely didn't enable XMP profile in bios or you just need to set proper frequency, timings and voltage by hand also, your rig *SHOULD* hit 300 fps easily by default in 5v5 games, with occasional slight drops. i'd reckon the problem is somewhere else that the hardware itself.

Cs:Go is CPU dependent, try to see if something is loading your CPU other than CSGO when you run it. And just to make sure check your disk usage, on idle.
2017-11-21 09:21
Nvidia control panel settings, windows power settings. Is your monitor plugged into the GPU and not the motherboard, have you checked your cpu/gpu usage while playing. When are the fps drops happening, i had a problem when spraying my fps would drop from 300's to 100's.
2017-11-21 09:26
yeah with monitor plugged into the motherboard he'd be getting 100fps in witcher on ultra

My friend i have gtx 1060, and i7 4770k, my fps in full settings is 300 drops to 200 max, with graphics i play it is 270 - 400, the problem of your pc is just your processor, i had such a problem when i had i5 without K, and fps was 140-230 i solved this problem changing processor to this one i7 4770k, you should have bought i7 7700k, than you would have easily over 320 may be more 400 fps, believe me

i have 500-600 on local server, but on dm or casual its avg 200-250, with rare drops to 150-180. Its playable, but i think avg. fps should be higher
2017-11-21 09:59
those numbers are absurd. I can have over 900 if I use the right settings and environment. you need to have the same circumstances to compare. for example 5vs5 on inferno ct spawn. a proper way to have a good measurement is to use the one and same demo and fps test: hltv.org/blog/7971/one-of-the-best-metho.. everything else is simply bs. lul i have over 999 fps if I look at a wall on a local server you w0t m8.

dunno bro, its kinda complicated when we are talking about cs go
2017-11-22 13:46
Well, I had that problem too when I was playing WoW, my computer was shit, upgraded all of my parts to better things like a 1060, amd processor etc. But it was still freezing, tried to buy 16gb RAM, helped a little bit but not too much which was weird. Then I bought a new hard drive, and ever since I bought that hard drive I haven't had any problems. Try downloading a overheating program like speedfan to see if anything in ur computer is overheated. Other than that I have no idea what could cause you to drop FPS even though u have a really good computer.

These drops (to 150-180 fps) are rare, and dont really bother me. The most annoying thing is that i have avg fps 200-250 when it should be at around 300-400. CS installed on SSD, tried to install it on HDD, nothing changed (except for loading speed), but still ty for reply

I also have big fps drops with a decent PC, unless I manually set the game to high CPU priority in task manager. I think you can set it in launch options aswell, but I had problems with faceit anticheat so i had to do it manually each time after starting CS. GL!

No, they increased the polygons of the models and the textures. Since Intel SUCKS DICK at multi-core performance (not counting 8th gen, those CPUs are amazing.) you want that OFF if you want Intel.
2017-11-21 15:50
yeah and that's why you get like only 50% of the frames per second if you run the game on a single core, makes totally sense... not. if you disable it, the fps drop MASSIVELY.

+mat_queue_mode 2 in launch options and you're good.
2017-11-21 19:21
have you disabled Xbox Game DVR & nvidia shadowplay ? I have a desktop with I7-7700k + 1060 6gb + 8gb ram and get from 600 to 250 fps, never drops below 250 on new maps like inferno/d2. I use low video settings in game as well. If I keep both game DVR and shadowplay enabled it won't go above 200 fps

So your problem is that you're using windows 10. Upgrade to windows 8.1, and that should fix your fps problem. You will just suffer looking for awnsers on net like this. Backup your shit and get 8.1

From personal experience, I have a GTX 1080, i7 4790k, 32 GB RAM, Windows 10 on SSD, etc, and I had FPS drops as well. I went far and wide doing all the checklist, including getting an expensive watercooler etc (even when CPU is at 5.0 GHz made no diff).. so guess what the issue was? The HDD that CS:GO was installed on, when it slowed down CS:GO had spikes in FPS, even though that HDD plays multiple games with no issues. So I installed a small 60GB SSD and placed games like CS:GO on it, and it's been working flawlessly ever since. A lot of people have no idea how much of a benefit an SSD can give to CS:GO, other than preventing random spikes like in smokes, can improve the fps by a bit as well if you were getting throttled by your HDD.

idk smth is wrong with ur pc because i have i7 6700k and gtx 1060 and i have stable 300+ fps
2017-11-22 10:25
It might be silly but really do you have stable power supply and do you think power is delivered well to components. Sometimes faulty chips or sets can do that.

run a cpu/ram stress test and at least two different 3dmark benchmarks to see your performance (for comparison) and if something is wrong with your hardware

Uninstall Windows 1709 Creators update. I've had it to with a 6700k gtx 1060 and performance got horrible. I rollbacked to previous version, everything was fine.
