japs probably don't like brazillian culture so to speak, but they also could. The majority of japanese outside of Japan migrated here because of reasons like, the europeans would't migrate because Brazil was still a shithole compared to their war-torn countries, the low salaries and poor conditions here wouldn't force them to come because they were not as economically desperate as the Japanese, since Japan at that time was fucked because the end of Feudalism generated a lot of poverty in the rural population, so japanese looked to imigrate to some country for better conditions.
The USA wouldn't accept japs because they banned non-white immigration at the time, on the basis that they would not integrate in the society, and Australia, your country btw, also banned non-white migration because of the White Australia Policy en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Australia_po..
Long story short, Brazil was one of the only choices to the japs due to the restrictions that were presented at the time, that's why they imigrated here.
Oh yeah, one important thing that has to be mentioned is that Brazil was looking for new workers because they had just freed its slaves, and Slavery in Brazil ended in a bad note because there was no remuneration to the former slave owners, and there was also no social inclusion policy to the Black People that were recently freed from their slave-status, so the economy naturally suffered and the only option was to search for new workers, which Japan had plenty of.
There is of course some stuff i didn't mention like catholicism playing a big role too but that stuff can be looked up.
