CURSED ORGS
 |
United States cananigfrag
I can think of two immediately: Team Liquid - Never the same since s1mple left. Looked like a top 5 team at some point this year, complete trash now. JDM will somehow never be kicked. Bought Steel and he isn't fitting in with the line-up. They have to play with their coach at the major qualifier. optiC gaming - Promising NA team at first, won EL Season 2, literally nothing since then. Have spent almost a year with no proper IGL, played with jasonLUL at some point, team disbanded, became EU, no IGL still and no success for months besides smurfing in NA leagues. Any other orgs??

GODSENT wasn't cursed. The players didn't put in the hours nor the effort to be a top team.. Pronax went from master-mind IGL to a matchmaking bot. znajder was already down the hill, ex-pro. Now godsent is just trash with 3 players and bot Pyth + nonamer hampus to stand-in.
2017-12-16 23:33
Of course they weren't cursed considering curses aren't real lmao, they were bad because everyone there was unmotivated and that lack of motivation was why they didn't put in the hours or effort
2017-12-16 23:35
Then why do you call them cursed. A cursed team would be like, Astralis semi-final ghost they had with Karrigan. Nip to not get through the major qualifiers even tho we know that they can compete at other top tier events with ''decent'' results. but there is some lowballer tier 100 online team who will stomp them in major Q. G2 has all components and hours put in but something is missing, probably more chemestry than cursed. Navi has been edging their success for years, time is cummed, they will rise to the stars and beyond in 2k18.

Retard much? These qualifiers just included to meaning "MAJOR". Major itself has still 16 slots.
2017-12-17 00:27
stickers = major 24 teams get stickers = 24 team major retarded or autistic?

2017-12-17 11:10
nah you misunderstood mate. The Major Qualifiers are still the major qualifiers, it's just that they are in the same week as the major now and they get stickers. It's still the qualifier tho.
2017-12-17 00:27
its not a qualifier, its the major 24 teams get stickers = 24 team major. why would a team that has not made it into the major get stickers? the major just has an extra stage now
2017-12-17 01:25
No its the major, you can check this out aswell; wiki.teamliquid.net/counterstrike/ELEAGU.. As you can see it is 24 teams now
2017-12-17 10:52
who cares? how many teams got top4 at the major and no one cares but NA team gets "OMG GREAT PART OF NA HISTORY" lul =p liquid never won anything expressive. with or without s1mple.

btw don't forget Gambit Esports. They are last major champion and then they lost completely
2017-12-16 23:20
they weren't good beforehand though, its more that the major win was a fluke and not the org that is cursed

Gambit would've won that major anyways, they beat Astralis and they would've beat all the other teams on the other side of the bracket.

It wasn't a fluke, SK got knocked out by Astralis and they beat them in BO3, all the other teams that had a chance against them had already gone out, the reason they suck now is cause they lost their IGL...
2017-12-16 23:27
I get what you're saying and they definitely played great, but I think winning a major when beforehand losing online qualifiers vs tier 3-4 teams, not performing well on previous LANs and being ranked #12 could be considered as a fluke. But just my opinion.

OpTic got two quarters finals and only one group stage exit, that's pretty good for a new team.

Congrats to them on a T2 event where the only other relevant teams were SK and Liquid
2017-12-17 00:14
Mouz is Tier 2. Do you expect them to win a major all of a sudden? They're a really decent team among the T2s tbh.

Its clearly Titan. They had a major spot ready for DHW14 but kqly got banned. Their owner signed the top 1-2 team at that time and soon after shox decides to leave. Never made past group stage at majors but they were capable of doing that. Kqly basically started the bleeding that never stopped.
