Share you job or Career. If you are currently studying for a certain job or career, what is it? I work for myself making custom furniture but also do other carpentry related things like remodeling and renovation. I mostly do dining room tables and kitchen Islands. I started off building houses which taught me the basic principles of building.

In the USA you mainly have defense attorneys, Prosecutors who work for the State, and contract lawyers who cover a wide range of categories. There maybe others but those 3 categories cover most things. And of course, all Judges are lawyers.

In Brazil you need to have a law degree to be Delegado de Polícia. So after that, you must pass in a written test and endurance test, competing with other people. While the test does not happen, I work as a lawyer and study. But when you get approved, you have to devote yourself exclusively to a police career.

lol I did Business for undergrad. It's a waste of a degree, just sayin. It's like getting a degree in common sense. You learn no technical skills. I had to go to graduate school for real education....

2017-12-21 18:57
I did finance.. really no technical skill there. Accounting is more useful if you want to pursue that alone as a career. but the topic was business administration, not finance or accounting. so it's kinda irrelevant

Word, same goes with marketing imo. Sure, there are certain things you might learn but 90% of marketing is about ''make the customer feel happy, put the customer first, fulfil the needs of the customer, make sure you have knowledge about your niche'' I don't need to go to college for shit like that rofl, 1-2 weeks of googling and you have most of your answers. I study empirical macroeconomic/microeconomic research and political economics. I actually feel like I learn things compared to what I studier prior lol.
2017-12-22 12:11
Dude the whole point in college degrees in the US is to get a few words added to your resume that dumbasses eat up. Sensible people know that the most you remembered in college was how fast you could do a beer bong and even those memories are hazy. But employers eat business degrees up, it's not a bad degree because it's a very good gateway to getting an interview. Hardly anyone actually utilizes what they did in college unless it's a very specialized degree like medical, law, etc.. shit where studying actually is put to use. I'm not disagreeing that Business degrees are worthless from the standpoint of knowledge, just that they're in demand for a ton of businesses which is the real purpose for picking a degree and that's why it's not a bad idea.
2017-12-24 09:29
i'm not debating that they are a pre-requisite for opening doors to entry level business world jobs. but yeah we were talking about how you don't learn any useful skills whilst in pursuit of your business related degree as opposed to say mechanical or computer engineering, etc. your point is accurate, we weren't debating that.

Nice! I did a bit of that during my time building houses. I worked for a company that did concrete homes. You used these foam blocks and run rebar and metal grids inside of them and then filled them with concrete. I didn't do it long though. I liked building with wood more.

Usually 6 months per year. We can do longer if we apply to go on a sub with free crew spaces, something like £12 extra an hour. I try to do it as much as possible but I've had to miss out on it a few times due to being married. Wife doesn't like it too much. I'm pretty sure you can do the 6 months in bulk but I've never done it so I can't confirm. Usually on the sub for 70-85 days.

Not too sure exactly how deep we go most times, I'm stuck doing Communications and Information. Usually surface at least once every couple days so its not like we're under for the whole time. We're even allowed to go swimming around the sub as long as we're all back at an allocated time. I wasn't scared at first because I knew what it was going to be like (uncle served too, and we also had a lot of training (10 weeks extra)).

Thanks for the replies. That's awesome you guys get to surface and have a swim. That would make the time much easier and gives you something to look forward to. I don't mean to make it sound like a prison sentence I just mean I can imagine being locked in a sub for a very long period could start to get to some people. But i'm sure most of the weeds are cut off in boot camp. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, training definitely helps, but on most subs, you're with a crew of around 90-110 people, most of whom you get to know quite well. Yet to serve on a Vanguard-class sub. Been trying to get on one for ages just for the weaponry (16 Trident IIs (8 nuclear warheads each, capable of travelling 5000 miles))

I've met many programmers, software engineers and full stack developers between the age of 25-30 who are very skilled at what they do, most of them experience with programming since they were 12-13 years old. without having any degree. If you keep a good portfolio degrees don't say much in this field imo, met plenty of "programmers" with a bachelor degree who still can't make proper class diagrams and stuff.. So even if you quit, don't worry about it :P

yeah thats the thing about programming, anyone with a computer and an interest can start with it from their own home because there is so much material on the internet, also not needing any prior knowledge to learn. I've got some people in my class that have already worked for companies before even going to uni. anyways I dont aspire to become the best at programming because there are already so many others who will always be better.

well jobs u can do what ever u want really.. my course was practically the same as your electrical with a focus on electronics one , with the exception of some mechanics classes and a little more focused on control theory I do not know if you got automation classes that are very interesting as exemple in my class almost 50% of the students are working in technical sales (good offer in the market, good salaries and easier to learn then programing microprocessors and microcontrolers)

2017-12-22 00:36
In medecine France is not more advanced. In dentistery Brazilians are pretty good in cosmetics. And i guess in surgery, traumatology they are pretty good too. You cant work in france with a brazilian diploma so it might be the same for a french in brazil :)
2017-12-22 11:57
In medicine you would need to do a revalidation test. Guess it is similar for dentistry

Are you a Romanian caster? Do you have a twitch you cast from?
2017-12-21 06:34
Yes. I stream on YouTube, it is more popular in Romania. ~23,000 followers, avg. viewers for last 15 streams about 1200. youtube.com/channel/UCtUwFhZglTfnjDgxf87..
2017-12-21 12:13
is it possible to simulcast on both Youtube and Twitch? if so, you might do that to multiply your following.
2017-12-21 16:32
It is possible, but I don't want to split my follower base up :) And Twitch is almost dead in Romania anyways.

I recently finished my 1st year studying and till now it seems pretty easy, the concepts aren't hard to understand for me, but there are lot of guys that study like 6 or 8 hours per day, in the next years of course the career will be much more complex. Not at all, outsiders tend to think we memorize things robotically like if it were maths or pshysics formulas and it's all the contrary, vast majority of exams are oral, they are in that way to prepare you for the court, personally I never liked to memorize, it's better to know really well how to explain concepts, theories, articles and have a good oratory, rather than memorizing. We only memorize some important articles, laws and numbers, but that's it, it's not like we memorize an entire book, rolf. In my political science final I did an exposition of almost an entire hour for example.
2017-12-21 21:32
how many hours did you study per day in your first year?

Being full honest with you, some days I didn't even studied, other days I studied around 2 or 4 hours if I was in the mood and there wasn't much noise. Nevertheless, I studied entire days and weeks for finals though.

I never knew there were so many smart and successful people on HLTV. By reading the threads I get the impression I'm amongst mostly 8-12 year-olds and being in my 30's question why I'm even here. Perhaps, there are a lot of children and teenagers on HLTV but it's awesome to see such a diverse group of successful people on HLTV. Thanks for sharing everyone!

Good choice. Can't go wrong with an Engineering degree. Some advice -- get on the job experience and talk to the guys on the ground who are actually building the idea's of engineers. I can tell you from experience that sometimes engineers will design something on paper that in real world practice does not work as well, and the guys who are actually building the stuff will come up with better ideas. I ran into this while building houses. GL

I got an opportunity to work at endoscopic ambulance really soon after I started to work as a secondary doctor, I realized it would be a shame to let such an opportunity pass so I tried it and I like it. Mostly because gastrointestinal endoscopy is not only a diagnostic, but also a therapeutic method, we treat lots of different conditions from benign to life threatening. I'm not gonna lie, being a gamer help me a lot, since the endoscope controls are very similar to a joystick

I am not breaking the law by having speculated conjecture thrown at me by an immature, disrespectful user. Instead of assuming the impossible, look at reality and understand the situation beforehand. You claim I am lying, but why does that have to be the case in your book? Apparently I have numerous alternate accounts, I'm apparently autistic and you assume you were banned because of me reporting your posts when I did not report a single one. Also my entire CS history is also apparently a lie despite the fact I don't remember your name at all... You could also be lying, but I have no reason to discredit or judge you at all. "Projects include psychological analysis and profiling, as well as writing in my spare time short novels, etc..." I know psychology and have written numerous studies about school life having damning effects of anxiety, also in tone with me being a writer. Instead of making me digress my life story to you, stop trying to prove what doesn't exist. You do not need a HPCP number to know of psychology and help others.

You claim to be a Psychologist, yes you do need to be HCPC registered to be one. Are you now claiming you're not doing that as your job? Half of your posts don't make any grammatical sense. You may have studied GCSE Psychology (lol nice easy subject), but you clearly didn't study English, did you 10 word Jonty?

I know of psychology and have done psychology before... I label myself as a "psychologist" because I could practically become one whenever I wanted. I do speak to lots of people and help them, as well as write studies. I have even met people before and gave them examinations, obviously not prescribed for medication as I only give advice. Law requires a HPCP number, but you can help others psychologically without one. No, I am not breaking the law and no, I am not lying about anything... :/ Instead of your constant, incorrect prying, answer this question: Why assume the incorrect always? There is nothing wrong with my English at all (which is rich coming from yourself) and I've no need to lie? I am obviously not autistic and I do not have any alternate accounts. I do not "have" to provide anything, as these are your opinions to be respected, not ablutions of the contrary. I am not even going to bother analysing or profiling you as I feel I will lose IQ points in doing so. Consequently let us agree to disagree that your opinions are respected, but remain as such. Once again, your claims are incorrect and your disdain, disrespectful immaturity will get you nowhere in life. Have a good day and I will not reply again to such benevolent idiocy.

I can't be bothered to read your reply fully. After you conceeded you're not actually a practicing Psychologist, and that it isn't your job, I lost interest in what you had to say. For future reference, please have a read of the following before you claim to be a practicing Psychologist and commit a criminal offence: hcpc-uk.co.uk/aboutregistration/protecte.. Also don't start claiming you've written studies otherwise you'll end up gaping even more.

You call his claims "incorrect", "non-existent" and even "lying" and right now it's your word versus his word. But he actually brought something that you can treat as "proofs" or at least something what is more than just words (thread is deleted, but it doesn't matter). His point about HPCP number also makes sense. On the other side you have only and only words. You deny any opportunity to really prove something. Of course you don't have to prove anything and I understand your position, but the further the more your answers look like excuses if we bear in mind 'aggregate picture'. I'm not into exposing someone or take someone's side in your controversy, just show you how it looks.

You sound like me. I quit playing CS games serious back in 2008. I played CSS off and on until 2011 and then didn't game at all until early 2014. I didn't even know a new CS existed until early 2014. I messed around on CSGO for about a year and a half and racked up 900 hours which was mostly DM. I grew to love watching the pro's though and still keep up with it which is what brought me to HLTV back in 2014. Then of course, those thread titles catch your attention and here we are. :D I don't click on them all though. I'm very selective in what threads I look at.

to be honest, i feel like my life is a very crazy chain of coincidences, starting from gold medal got in school to finishing one of top international law faculties in russia in one uni, getting bachelor's degree and continuing my master's programm in the top2 unis on the same faculty, being intrested in IP /intellectual property/ and currently working for RZD's (owner of all railways in russia) subsiduary, the activity of which is connected with IP and int. contracts, that's exactly what i could dream of. These guys found me, said that are in need of a person with the same diploma as i have, so they just offered me to choose my working hours, now it's 4 hours per day (9am-1pm), cause after that i go to the uni, it starts on fucking like 2-4pm and it's reeeealy unlikely to miss classes, 5 days per week. Last months i'm just sleeping on my feet and work on some great project for my company. Sometimes i can't really understand how did my life turn like this, but this shit giong on around right now is worth it, i feel like this is the way of life i was seeking for. Wish you all guys more luck in lives and ability to shine among people around

Trainee as a management assistant, then maybe after that a trainee as a industrial mechanic. Get my diplomas for those two jobs and then work for my dads company. But tbh i would like to be a musician. But im now at my 20s and neither do I have money or the connections to get the environment i need or the experience. :( Depression is evolving :))

Well, if her family is Islamic and you are not that is the problem. It's considered a disgrace for a Muslim to marry someone who isn't, but that isn't unique to Islam since most religions teach their converts to seek a spouse within the faith. But, if she's an adult and you marry her she can just move to your country and you two can be happy. Sometimes a person has to make their own choices in life even at the cost of losing a relationship with their parents. Just don't pressure her. Perhaps the right decision could be to let her go if it will cause her too much distress. As it has been said -- if you love someone, let them go, if they come back to you they're yours, if they don't, they never were. Just remember; if you really love her you'll do what is best for her even if it means letting her go. True love doesn't seek anything selfish. Even if it would cost you your own happiness if you love her you'll always do what is best for her. GL. I hope it works out for you and your girlfriend.

Thank you dude. Absolutely I agree. But the problem is not Islamism. You know the hostility between the Turks and the Greeks. Problem is here, they hate us. we to hate they are. My girlfriend's family owns a little racial glance. But for her it is not a problem. She's ready to do everything with me. I just dont want experiencing familial problems with her cuz of me. Maybe we will go somewere. Maybe Denmark idk.

I see. Well that's good it's not because of religious reasons. I think if she is happy with you and you two get married -- if her father sees she is happy, that will make him at least tolerate you since he sees his daughter is happy. Otherwise just move somewhere together :D

if it's considered a disgrace for a Muslim to marry a non-Muslim then why are men allowed to marry Jews and Christians? I won't even bother reading the rest of this crap. P.S. You just confirmed a prophecy in Islam: literacy will increase by a massive amount, but knowledge will decrease. You're speaking about something you have no clue about even though the information is readily available. <3

This is the information I got from my limited studies on Islam. Doesn't the Qu'ran teach that a Muslim should marry within their faith and not outside of it? I didn't not mean to speak ignorantly I was pretty sure that Islam taught that.
2017-12-24 19:46
Its okay man. We are not interested in Islamic bullshit. Yes maybe they are muslim but they are not too religious. When i finish school we will leave the Turkey and we go one of Scandinavian countries. We will be happy.I believe it.She is a heart surgeon, I am a ship engineer. We can create a good life with them. Its my dream.

Also, you say "men" are allowed. Are daughters of Islamic men permitted to marry a man who isn't Muslim? Or would a Muslim man approve of his daughter marrying a man who isn't Muslim? I'm not asking this to provoke you but it's a serious question. I appreciate you correcting me if I am mistaken on this issue. I confess I have never read the whole Qu'ran but have read about 1/4 of it along with other things written by Muslim's about what the Islamic faith teaches. But I'm not an expert.

Also, your reply has a sense of hostility to it. I know Islam teaches mercy is a good thing and forgiveness is to be sought over wrath. So rather than lash out against me would it have not been more productive to gently correct me and provide me with the sources so my ignorance on this subject could be corrected? This would go along way to spread your message if you desire others to take it serious. When you treat someone with hostility, anger, impatience, etc. often you may get the same in return and no chance of a constructive and fruitful conversation is possible.

I do not know much about Islamic ideas. We dont care it.
