Same with you I also play 1280x1024 changed to 960 last week only for trying
most awpers are playing bb not stretched
you are bad at the game
changing res doesn't do anything
dev1ce is not even an awper what are you talking about
Awpers dont play stretched cuz it makes things go faster and therefore harder to hit, they play BB generally. Only awper i know for sure uses stretched is m0e, and I'll let u judge for urself if u wanna consider him an awper.
Also Res doesnt really matter and is probs the least important part of your settings when compared to smth like mouse sensitivity
why play 1280x1024 when you can play 1350x1080 instead?
I play 800x600 and I'm the awper, no problems, u should also try 1440x1080 clear image and good stretching
u can use cl_crosshair_sniper_width to adapt your sniper crosshair
1920x1080 now that I have a new comp and it feels so much more accurate than old 720p res
Well Ive never really played 1280x1024 but i have found awping and pistols really good on it, but i cannot rifle for shit on that res. My only guess is for them to stay diverse
I play 4:3 1024x768 and sometimes 800x600 I think these are the best res for awp
x1024 is 5:4 bigger than 4:3 and 1440x1080 is same as 1024x768 and better
1920x1080 16:9 awp master race
Play whatever fits you best simple as that.
Thing is: high horizontal resolution make is more distractful (is that even a word) and harder to flick, at the same time that, as you said, makes the models widers which leads to > easier to hit.
Now for the bb x st I don't really have a say on this. I'm an awper myself and I can tell that it makes my life easier, I feel like I optimize my screen space this way, don't have any deep thoughts on this matter tho.
cold played on 1280x1024, dunno if he is back on x960
"many of these AWPers use stretched"
but more AWPers use black bars
Black Bars: kennyS, device, guardian, JW, twist, Snax, Ska, jdm64, HEN1, cajunb, allu/mixwell (both use bb)
stretched: FalleN, oskar, SIXER, draken, s1mple
4:3 1024x768 im a great sniper
1280x1024 is way faster then 1280x960 etc
