history is important because it gives us and understanding for the past and an understanding for the future, which can prevent wars etc. understanding is very important
No, i think history is very important, it helps us to understand ourselves more deeply and it helps us to not make same amount of mistakes that we made in the past, i think if you truly want to you understand yourself you have to study history because you are not only 70 years old creature,You barely can understand yourself even in 70 years but amount of wisdom that history offers that is wisdom of all mankind produced for many thousand of years, Then you can actually understand and know who you are.
Art is very important to human beings, People can't live without art.
Those Who Forget History Are Doomed to Repeat It
Let people work with their interests. The most important thing is that people enjoy what they do for a living, even if it isn't giving our society as much of a progress.
you should learn history at least to not repeat old mistakes
first: history is science
second: history is as important as any kinda of science
I don't think so.
If we learn history,we can learn from the past's mistakes,to make a better future for ourselves. We will know where we came from, who we are,our identity,as a nation for example.
I think everyone should know history because of this, and it should be a must.
Irl it might not be that useful because you are most likely not going to have a better time finding a job or something like that, but life is not only about that.
everything is history dumbass
LOL in Brazil they saw false communists
Science and culture are going on along equally.
Both have the same impact on humanity, none stands out.
Saying that science is superior and history and overall arts is just going to show your precious intelligence and actual knowledge. Man without art will be a depressed slave without a personal life and man with no science will be a lust junkie and bad habits addict bound to die young.
Both needed equally, you can choose towards which one you'd lean on but don't forget the other one.
Science will give you knowledge, art will give you understanding.
Stick to maaking lists about hltv users. You're too fucking stupid for anything else.
History is very interesting and useful, but I agree that it's not really a thing that should be your hobby rather than profession.
history is one of the best lessons men, always interesting and maybe useful ;)
>Implying politics and philosophy aren't two of the bedrocks of civilisation
Maybe people are not into science and math? Think about it: if everyone had to study those and be some sort of engineer/scientist, the oversupply would devalue the market value of those professions. The market can only take so much, therefore we would have a lot of well educated scientists in welfare. Simple supply and demand for you.
history is very important to develop your brain , just like math. And also in math some people say stuff like : "hurr durr hurr durr why would i want to learn about sinus and derivation and stuffs like that since i will never use it irl in my job hurr durr" its very good for your brain even if u will use it or not
Well, people who know maths have more chances of getting a good job then people in humanities, thats truth.
aybe you are right, people have learned nothing from the past, we still have Islamophobia (it has already happened against the Jews), economic collapse (crisis of 22), first world war, soon after second war ... The world thinks that it learns , but keeps repeating the same errors differently.
You will always have subjects that you will not like, so you just need to focus on the ones you like and try to build a life around it. In my case, I hate physics, maths and all that number sh*t, that's why I chose to study education, history, philosophy and stuff like that.
I respect your position but what you said is so dumb. Next time you listen to music or use a computer, close your eyes and turn down the volume since art is useless.
and the whole school in germany is useless maybe 1% of the things you learn you are going to need in the future beut the rest is fuckin bullshit
The future is the copy of the past
We study history to prevent it from occuring again
Ex: Most antifa memebrs are retarded, dont knkw history, therefore, bringing back fascism
You are sooo wrong my friend.
Without art you would have nothing these days.
And history... there is no doubt that it is important.
Mayb you need to understand it better what exactly art is.
And if you think hisotry is useless then idk my friend.
I am just curios what is your age or in what type of school are you in?
History is the most enjoyable subject for me. The way humanity adapts and develops is fascinating.
I think every1 should know the history... so u will not repeat the fault in history
Don't forget that most of the history you learn is not even true, at least when it comes to America
like ppl still believe columbus discovered that shithole
history with a good teacher that actually enjoys teaching this subject is way better than with a lame dude that just reading down shit from the book.
Studying history and doing art are lit!
You will understand when you start :-)
the worst part about being smart and studying politics and history, is that you realize how people fool each other, but you cant say it to people, cuz they will judge you as crazy or retarded
and you will only start useless arguments about it
so enjoy life, try to fuck womans, drink a lot, get high, travel, etc
and dont worry about history of the world or anything xd 100% waste of time
too low iq for an engineering job. too high iq for a humanities job.
its even more needed nowadays, since it looks like we dont learn from history, we keep doing the same mistakes
all kind of information are useless, unless you know what to do about it
and history is need it, because there is no need to invent the wheel over an over again,
that would be a waste of time
just the fact that we are able to pass knowledge to the next generation makes us the most advanced speices on this planet
Those who don't study history are bound to repeat it . . . .
history is good to study overall but not for a degree this shit is completely useless if you gonna apply for a decent job believe me kids
history let us understand a future so
I have Art & design history classes (studying graphic design) and I find it pretty useful. It helps you to understand the base of styles, gives you the knowledge develop your own or/and to adapt to different customer demands (connected to the knowledge acquired in other classes obviously). And not to mention that is a source of inspiration (and this one is very important).
So basically this thread makes no sense to me.
Oh and btw, graphic design is related to art and you can find plenty of jobs that have nothing to do with Mc Donald's...
studying history is useless
its useless when your country doesnt have one
I don't Need to pay school taxes
If my country's history was something to us, is that we should be home and not going around fucking shit up.
Military's fuck-all if the homeland is treated like dirt (Detriot, other ghettos)
So yeah, I think history is important.
History is not a collection of facts; it's a narrative based on some facts while ignoring other facts. Every narrative has a counter-narrative.
who are we without the art?
Without art there wouldn't be this topic or even CS:GO. Somebody studied how to draw graphics. ;-)
Clowns like you is why the West is collapsing
Studying history is my hobby and it's fun when you read in depth about causes and effects of some things.
But yeah, the history they teach in school is often presented in very boring and shallow way, they force you to learn some dates you don't give a shit about etc. Also as a degree in it doesn't really feel worth it nowadays.
