Intel i5-7500 or Ryzen 5 1600 for CSGO ?
 |
Vietnam VarreT
Hello guys, i'm using i5 7500 + 1050ti. My setting is 1024x768 All Low, the FPS is around 250-280 I wonder if the Ryzen can do better than i5 7500 so i can upgrade it. In my country, it's hard to find the Mini GTX1060 (My PC is Mini HTPC) so all i can to do is upgrading the CPU. Is it worth the upgrade ? Thanks and sorry for my bad English xD

It'll be like $200 to get the same FPS but faster times to render video, really.

My friends told me the same, but i don't know how the Ryzen 5 perform in CSGO. I don't need the render performance, so do you think i should skip this ?
2018-01-18 04:26
If all you really do is play CS, then skip it.

i5 has better single core performence which benefits csgo. Unless source 2 comes out tommorow.

The Ryzen 5 1600 would be a side-grade; it'd only be better for multi-tasking. Ryzen CPUs play games smoothly like Intel, but they get lower peak FPS and generally suffer a 5-10% performance loss, which is negligible. Just save your money for an entirely new build in a few years, that's about all I can recommend.

Ofc not. The problem it's the GPU try to buy on gearbest.
2018-01-18 05:16
Buy 8th gen intel if you really wanna thrownyour money
2018-01-18 05:24
You don't need to upgrade unless you want to stream.
2018-01-18 05:27
GPU > CPU FOR CSGO!!

2018-01-18 05:54
Dont forget you have to buy another motherboard. Why dont you just upgrade your case and buy a 1060?

Do you mean the i5 7500 is not worth ?
2018-01-20 02:20
No, both of them perform almost exactly the same, maximum 5% difference. You can see by yourself here cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core.. and you can check some game benchmarks.

I've never used AMD CPU til they release Ryzen, and using Ryzen 7 just for CSGO is over needed for me xD

Any upgrade is a waste of money in this case. > FPS is around 250-280 So, what's the problem? Your CPU is more than enough, GPU is good for CS:GO, prices for 1060(even mini) are fckt. do NOT upgrade. Ryzen 5 1600 is not better than i5-7500, it might have 5-10 fps difference but it's not significant. Ryzen 5 1600 is good if you need rendering and overall performance but for gaming its useless upgrade in this case.
2018-01-20 02:28
don't touch i5s ever, they're shit, in general never buy something low/midrange you will waste more money upgrading every year or two instead of buying current high end and forgetting about it for a good 5-7 years go either with 8th gen i7 or with ryzen 1700
2018-01-20 02:33
You honestly have no idea of what you talking about lol.
2018-01-21 05:25
this is what retards kept telling me in 2012 when i built top tier system with 3770k kids bought those shitty cheap 2c/4threaded i3-i5s and thought they "beat the system" now tell me where are those nerds with 2c4t/4c4t cpus now? while 3770k is STILL competitive in 2018 even tho i built a new system last year. you either have no clue what "future-proof" means or "buying" stuff with mom's credit card tl:dr i5=shit, save money for 8th gen i7 or ryzen 1700 and forget about upgrading cpu for nearly decade
2018-01-22 15:38
i5 8400 if you just game. i7 8700k if you plan on video editing, rendering etc.
2018-01-20 02:37
intel for streaming as well make sure with kaby and coffee lake cpu's that you have a good heatsink cause these bits run high temps
