Not in the near future but I dream and plan to move to an English speaking country eventually. I was thinking about England, USA, and Australia but other options are acceptable too. I can't decide which country I want to choose yet and to be honest, I've never been to any of these countries so I was wondering maybe hltv users can give me some pieces of advice from their own experience. And I want to mention that my English is far away from perfect (especially conversational part) so it probably won't be an easy task to find a job there. I'm tired of living in Russia and I want changes in my life but don't have enough money yet so I'm just thinking about the future.

I would not recommend England. I've been there 2 years and I'd never go back :).. Depends maybe where , I mean London can be good and arround London or more down but it's too much expensive there. Also where I've been ppl didn't really accept foreigners I got jumped 2 on the street and overall a big criminality in there every day in news that someone got jumped or stabbed by a group of young retarded ppl that have nothing better to do and watched too much gangster movies :).. Also if I compare price and flats or houses for a big price you get bedroom like a small closet , the walls are from paper so you hear when your neighbor is typing on mobile phone "literally" :)))))).. Also in winter you spend ton of money for heating cause everything gets through those paper wall. Maybe I wasn't lucky and had bad place where I stayed but my experience in England was horrible. Don't let me forget about the fact that it rains almost all the time and it's dark so kind off depressive ..

its kinda hard to see england in a good light if u dont have much money, parts of england can be so shit just bc of retarded benefit chavs
2018-02-10 23:40
England slowly becomes very polarised, some part are poor and others are very upper class. Personally, I'd never move to London or any other large city. Small towns are not so bad. Edit: Brits look down on people from eastern europe a lot, especially if you have a thick accent.
2018-02-10 23:51
Idk man, there are lots of place with heavily populated eastern European communities in London but also in rural areas that are happy with the better quality of life and wages. And normally ( of the people i know ) they stay with a lot of the people of the same country so its quite normal for them. Saying that we have lots of fucking chavs that chav around being racist and annoying so its true.

I had a decent job and no problem with money at all. I got jumped twice walking from work tho that has never happened to me in my entire life, first experience in England. Also speaking to local people even they were afraid walking at night and some streets people avoided even during the day and that was new experience for me. What I hated the most were the "little" fuckers always in a big groups being racist or just do absolutely nothing all day and be rude to all ppl. I am not saying whole England is like this or that it's bad country it's just my personal experience, I didn't like the houses and flats compared to price and how it looks I am used to a different standard and I just didn't feel safe .. Also one more thing the city was quite dirty , rubbish being everywhere on the streets. I have some possitive memories too, some English ppl were very friendly and open minded , I spoke quite decent and they appreciated my level of English a lot and took me as one of their own.

Speaking only for the US; you shouldn't have too hard a time here. Your English seems pretty decent, and there's plenty of people of Russian descent. If Russian neighborhoods are like Italian neighborhoods there should be a decent amount of times where you could even speak Russian. If you don't move into a Russian neighborhood, still should be ok. My girlfriends parents immigrated here from Korea when she was younger, she already had been learning english at the time in her school in Korea but her parents didn't know too much. They're still very successful here and her english improved immensely after moving here and actually communicating with people. Americans appreciate when you TRY to speak english, they'll help you out usually.
2018-02-10 22:54
This happened to me when I moved to boston people loved it when i spoke english because i was hardworking mostly women they really admire it.
2018-02-10 22:55
It's always appreciated. The misconception is that we hate immigrants, we really don't. We like hardworking immigrants that try to assimilate into our hodgepodge culture, just like our parents or our parents' parents did. If you do, we love ya.
2018-02-10 22:57
thanks mr trump
2018-02-11 20:45
And the americans that hate immigrants don't usually hate white immigrants. In any country, there's a lot of bad feelings toward large groups of poor immigrants. That's why in Europe you see lots of anti-Polish sentiment, but in the US, you see anti-mexican/latino sentiment. People don't really hate Russians from my experience
2018-02-11 22:03
this depends a lot, there are many latinos who are mostly uruguayan, argentine and brazilian whites so neither my brother nor I suffer from racism because we are latino only discover that my mother is Brazilian if I tell the majority of white immigrants are not muslims so welcome in general.

I totally agree with you. I've lived in Chicago for the past 5 years and there are a bunch of neighborhoods that consist of people from all over the world. Chinatown, Greektown, Ukranian Village, Mexican neighborhoods, Polish, Russian, etc. The news likes to view America as this racist, anti-immigrant type of society, but I honestly do not feel that way (or see it) at all. Of course I don't agree with illegal immigration... but as long as you come over here with the intent to work hard and be a part of the community, you'll be widely accepted. As far as I'm concerned, Americans actually love legal immigrants... it's always fun to meet new people from different countries, hear their stories, and get views from different cultures. If city life isn't your thing, America is very similar to Russia in the aspect of farmland, different types of scenery, open spaces, etc

Well from an American perspective. America is pretty great in a lot of ways. Best tech jobs in the world. Best entertainment jobs in the world. Ability to live in the biggest cities in the world or the ability to live in the middle of nowhere. In snow covered mountains or beaches in the gulf or somewhere in the middle. Bad thing is our current president is ass. Health care is not great unless you have a half-decent job. A lot of international people think American health care is bad. That's not the case for 90% of the country but it is the case for the poorest amoung us and that's not good. Higher education here is best in the world. Lower education varys wildly state to state and even county to county. Because of the relatively high levels of immigration it's also fairly easy to find people in your position that you can choose to kind of stick together with especially in big cities. It also happens to be one of the most beautiful tracts of land in the world. Also you are more likely to die in a car accident then get shot so ignore the people that tell you the US is a war zone. Some areas of some cities like Baltimore and Chicago are bad but even in those same cities there are amazing places to live. UK and Australia I'm sure are amazing in their own right. The US is a nation of immigrants however and I'll always think more people coming are better especially if you bring some skills.
2018-02-10 22:55
Even in the bad cities, you can pretty easily find good places to live. Just avoid the very poor neighborhoods and you can pretty much forget your city is considered "bad". Like Chicago, Cleveland, etc.

Would hate to be a conservative. Conservatives in the United States are following a legitimately stupid man off a cliff. Even if he's not directly implicated in the probe he's likely to get himself impeached. I mean news broke a couple weeks ago he paid a pornstar off while his wife was giving birth. What happened to conservative values? I could at least respect their crazy religious stances even if I didn't agree. They now stand for nothing socially and have done nothing but balloon the debt further with this latest tax bill. Not too mention the fact that they are stupid enough to not take the scientific method seriously. It's time for the current GOP to die and let something else take its place. Demographics will kill it if conservatives don't do it themselves anyway.

The US doesn't have the best health care or education, but i'd have to agree with him on tech jobs. Massive tech companies like Nvidia, Intel, Microsoft, Boeing, Amazon, Apple, IBM, and Google are based in the US. On top of that, the pay for tech jobs is pretty nice.

Apple, Google, Facebook, Intel, Nvidia, AMD, TI, IBM, Oracle, Lockheed, Boeing etc etc etc. And you are for real saying there are better ones in Germany or Sweden??? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOLOL Also Higher education is better somewhere elese? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL You need to take a look at the top 500 uni's in the world and see where they actually are. Should I really argue with a person who thinks that Swiss stands for Sweden? By the way what kind of technology is Google, Facebook, Oracle etc.? Really funny, lol. Even Apple is far behind Samsung on technology field, stop being retarded. For Intel, AMD well they may have headquarters in the US but most of their research centres are in India, Hong Kong, etc. wrong again. Look at all international headquarters in Swiss, you may be surprised but it's only because of tax purposes. Now, Swiss and German are far superior to the US or Japan on technology fields. LOLOLOL you are such a dummy. Back to the higher education, I agree MIT is top notch school, however, the rest sucks. Harward and others are accepting dummies from wealthy families also these schools are only leading in useless subjects, laws etc. Cambridge and Oxford are way better. Now LOLOLOLO fire away.

You are stupid. What kind of technology does Google, Facebook and Oracle make? Uhhh... Also I'm not going to list off every damn tech company in the United States so you can make up some bullshit reason why they don't count. You have no idea where the majority of their RD is spent. Sandy Bridge was developed in Israel. Does Israel have a better tech field because of one good arch? Also. topuniversities.com/university-rankings/.. Yeah. Not. Even. Close. Euro's have such a superiority complex it's crazy. Your schools are dumpster fires compared to the amount and quality of ours. This is shown in any ranking of colleges that exists. I'm going to stick with objective lists rather then your biased opinion.

Have you even checked your link? What kind of shit does it take into consideration? A number of foreign students and other shits? Top lol, there is a way better ranking which purely measures quality of studies. Just confirmed what I said. Yea, Google, Facebook and other shit is not technology. Wow, we can share and chat with people all over the world such a high tech. Please make a research of high tech meaning. Automotive, pharmaceutical, biochemical, AI, nanotechnology etc. Nokia is a great example of a high tech company, developing 5G and other techs, not because they sell smartphones lol. Quantity doesn't mean quality. Pointless to argue with someone like you, although I agree the US is the leader of AI development and few other things but clearly not the "best" still far behind Germany (most advanced tech country)/Swiss.

I know that Switzerland has the greatest pharma in the world (Novartis, Hoffman etc..) But I am pretty sure either the U.S. or Japan is leading when it comes to technology output and development over Germany. U.S. has the largest space program, leading the research in the field of machine learning which it gonna be the future of computer science, Google's and Tesla are making self driving electric cars, and Data visualization. I know Germany's making large strides with 5G rn but I feel the U.S. is making more strides in different areas.

I'm talking about individuals. Euros perceive Americans as having a superiority complex and Americans perceive Euros as having a superiority complex. When they actually meet they generally like each other. The reality is that America and Europe could both learn things from each other but no side wants to admit it. For example Europe could stand to learn a lot about how to encourage business and innovation. America could learn a lot about expanding the social safety net and giving good health care to all it's citizens. Current generation generation Euros could read up on history and show an ounce of gratitude for America essentially bankrolling the rebuilding of Europe after WW2 and pushing the Soviet Union out of Eastern Europe essentially peacefully considering the alternatives of the cold war. Americans could learn that they didn't win WW2 singlehandedly and that Russia themselves had a huge hand in as well as the English particularly in the Euro theater. ETC ETC ETC I do doubt we'll ever get to this place however. Especially with the current president dribbling nonsense constantly and locking in stereotypes that started during the Bush years.

I think the easiest way for you would be moving to UK. Correct me if I'm wrong but you can get a visa to work in the US for 3 months only. Then you will have to go back to Russia for 3 months. UK is great, ofc it has its own ups and downs. Ever since I was a child I wanted to live in the UK, Ive been studying here for 2 years but after finishing my degree I'm planning on moving again, USA, Netherlando or Sweden, we'll see.
2018-02-10 23:19
Sweden? Why?
2018-02-13 14:46
you wont necessarily have to go back to the country you're from. You can extend the visa and continue working in the US... if you stay long enough you can eventually apply for citizenship worst case scenario, you stay until your visa expires and then move back to assess whether you want to continue in the US or try something else
2018-02-13 18:00

If you move to the right place the UK is fine, idk what all these people are talking about saying its shit whatever yeah the weather is sometimes not the best but I wouldn't say it's worse than anywhere else. Everywhere has its own shitholes
2018-02-10 23:49
tbh the weather in the UK is probably the same as the weather in certain parts of the US. But the US has pretty much all kinds of weather outside of the extremes. It's a very big place and you can find somewhere you like pretty easily. Accommodating. Maybe that's what people are meaning?
2018-02-11 00:43
I wonder where you have place like London, coz the rain and the fog is something really special.
2018-02-13 02:59
northwestern US (Washington state and Oregon) has fog and rain on a normal basis, but the scenery is much different than England... very woodsy with mountains
2018-02-13 18:08
Yeah you are right, I forgot about Seattle, same suicidal weather than London. I mean, not even Kurt Kobain succeeded to get over it.
2018-02-13 18:23
For sure. I spent a month up by Seattle for some military training and I actually really loved the scenery. The woods are epic up there.... however the weather is just so strange. I was there for the whole month of May and during the day it would get up to the 60s - 70s and very dry (when it’s not raining), but then drop down to the 30s - 40s at night. The mornings were frigid cold and there would be dew all over everything. Then mid day it would warm up and become extremely dry
2018-02-13 18:32
yea what he said, northwestern area up by Washington has that. Though you can also get the swamp fogs and rain down south. Not EXACTLY the same, but pretty similar.
2018-02-14 21:05

Australia is defo the go to if you can afford it, the only problem is that where i live, near sydney city, a 1 bedroom apartment can go for over 2 mil aud. dont come to aus if you're not going to either sydney, melbourne or brisbane, these are the only cities worth living in. also australia is one of the best in the world in terms of employment opportunities, health care and education.

How long did you live in Perth for? what did you not like about it? what suburb did you live in? Also you can't really call Sunshine Coast overpriced if you live in Sydney, makes you sound like a huge ass hypocrite :P
2018-02-11 05:43
Went to perth for a 3 week holiday, stayed in a 4* bed&breakfast hotel minutes away from the city. Didn't like the scorching temperatures, the westies, the bogans, the fact that it's small and the average at best beaches

What suburb was it in though? Can't really complain about the weather, nothing you can do about it. It's small? just compare it's area=population ratio to any city outside of Australia and tell me if it's small. It's 4x larger than London yet has a 5x smaller population and you say it's small. I think what you meant was that it isn't dense. The bogans? once again, where the hell did you live? if you lived near the city you shouldn't see any 'bogans'.
2018-02-11 06:07
Thats sorta what I'm trying to say, since you can live in Perth for significantly cheaper than other Aus cities, there are quite a few of 'em around

Ye Perth is...not the best place to go as a tourist . Not much to do here other than Surf, Adventure World, maybe go to Rottnest but that's kinda meh, not much to do in Rottnest than look at Quokkas. I went to Sydney for a few days and loved it, the hotel was fucking shit and overpriced but that was expected since it's the 'tourist capital' of Australia. I just couldn't see myself living there though. If you live in high upper class Sydney/Melbourne you will probably think anywhere in Perth is a pile of shit. Most people don't though so they have a much different opinion on a place like Perth.

You're unemployed in Australia for 1 of 3 reasons: 1. You're applying for jobs that require skills outside of your reach 2. Your wage or shift demands are too high 3. You have a severe mental disability that hinders your work ability Choose one

'Don't come to aus if you're not going to either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, these are the only cities worth living in.' Those three cities are the worst places for someone new to move to, that's like telling someone to move to New York. I've lived in Sydney, Adelaide and now Perth and honestly I would never recommend someone new to move to Sydney if they aren't rich, so overpriced for what you pay for and besides not very fun. Perth has better beaches and it isn't so dense like Sydney. Perth has the worst internet in all the big cities of AU and online shopping is also expensive as shit but most people aren't nerds like me so they don't care much about that.

Like #63 said Sunshine Coast is good, I can't comment on that because I haven't been but I have heard a lot of good shit about it, certainly more good shit than I've heard about Sydney and Melbourne recently. I can only comment on Perth, Adelaide and Sydney because I lived in all three cities myself and I can say I'd rather live in Perth over Sydney any day of the week. Melbourne might be 10x better than Perth, who knows? haven't been so can't comment. It's weird how much people overrate Sydney, kinda makes sense though since most tourists go there and not a place like Perth or the Gold/Sunshine coasts.
2018-02-11 05:40
I can see why you didn't enjoy Sydney. In order to enjoy the best cities of the world, eg. New York, London, Berlin, etc, you need to have more than a sufficient amount of money. You keep complaining about costs, "so overpriced for what you pay for and besides not very fun" & "online shopping is also expensive as shit." Well, course it isn't gonna be very fun if you're just gonna jew it and call everything overpriced. You probably enjoy Perth more because you can actually afford to enjoy yourself there. And please, next time you call Perth beaches better than Sydney beaches, come meet me @ bondi beach. Sydney and Melbourne are both top 20 cities of the world. Perth isn't even a top 10 city in Australia

That online shopping statement was about Perth not Sydney. Also, you just repeated what I said, Sydney is not a good place to live in unless you actually have money and can afford to live there, which most people can't, so what's your point? Why are you recommending an expensive place to a foreigner who probably can't afford it?
2018-02-11 06:00
My point is, there's a reason why Sydney is the most expensive Australian city. It's not like prices are decided by Pauline Hanson spinning a wheel.. It's because of many factors. And go back to my very original comment, "go to IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT."

Kangaroo Island was fun tho. Haven't been to Brisbane so can't comment - most people I've met would say Perth is better (except you) especially foreigners because they see it on top 10 livable cities list but at the same time Adelaide is on there so can't really credit the lists much.

UK was a dead country before all the immigrants. Just look at Australia, it's built on immigrants yet 10x better than the UK. Kinda funny when a colony of Britian becomes 10x better than Britain.

Australia has one of the best standards of living in the world. Good people, chill culture, good infrastructure and opportunities. New Zealand is also a good country to visit/live. The cost of living is pretty high and the taxes are also pretty hectic, but you get what you pay for if you live in the city especially. I live in Brissy (Brisbane), and it is really nice, underrated in Australia, but I rate it higher than Sydney and is cheaper than Melbourne, also really close to beaches (goldy and sunny coast) so you get the best of both worlds. Also Australia is a bit more stable than the US and UK in terms of policy and recent events (I.e. brexit). Hope to see you in Aus soon

If you have money then you go to Sydney/Melbourne 100%. If you can be upper class there then it's pretty much heaven. Like you said it's expensive especially in those cities so for the average citizen I'd recommend moving to Perth/Brisbane. Had a discussion about this in this thread with someone who lives in Sydney and he agreed. I guess that falls

Yeah you for sure have to have a bit of cash behind you to have a decent lifestyle in Melbourne or Sydney, or you are stuck in the western suburbs. I've heard mixed opinions on Perth, but havent been so dont really know, seems better than people give it credit for though

Most people who talk shit about Perth haven't been there or only been for a few days. The stereotypes don't really help much either. It's more balanced in terms of lifestyle differences compared to Sydney/Melbourne which is why I recommend it always over them unless you have money.

Perth is meh for tourists compared to most cities on the east coast so a lot of the negativity comes from tourists/visitors since it definitely does not have anywhere near the tourist infrastructure that Sydney or Melbourne do. Not much to do that you can't do in most of Australia.

I have lived in Adelaide for all of my life and I disagree with many of the people here, Adelaide is a great city, it may be boring, but the layout, the people, the cost of living and the overall environment is good. I also rate Melbourne really highly, haven't been to Brisbane or Perth but I have heard that they are really good too, Sydney is overrated AF though. NZ is an amazing place aswell though, strongly recommend.

Canada would be a good place to move very easy to get in the country and very accepting but don't live in BC or Toronto way to expensive i would go Calgary, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Regina, Edmonton.
2018-02-11 15:45
My favorite is Halifax, but it's way off at the end. Calgary or Vancouver would be good choices, I think. No way on Winterpgeg. Hamilton wouldn't be bad either. I like Kingston, but that was a while ago. Ottawa and Montreal are pretty cities.

Can't immigrate into Australia without a decent bank account balance already. So, unless you do I'd suggest either England or the US. Canada might be a good choice too. You can make the best money in the US but healthcare costs a lot. Canada is good, but a bit cooler (weather), and large, open areas outside the cities.
2018-02-11 21:44
Same with UK? You can't get citizenship without significant amount of money

Most cities in the west have very high qualities of life and places like the Northeast have lots of Euro immigrants. imo Seattle and Denver are nice cities to live along with California if you have the money to live there. Most places in Texas have very cheap property and cities like Boston are nice but you may get sick of the frigid temperatures. Mostly anywhere you go though they'll be glad to have you as Americans actually love immigrants, contrary from what you might think.

most people here think it's cool meeting people that are from another continent and will be happy to talk to you. there's definitely still racists/xenophobes but you won't run into them much, especially if you're white or not in the south if you're black/arabic.

Yeah, most fat/racist people are in the south. You have no reason to go to the south unless its Florida or Texas so you'll be fine. Besides, all of our ancestors are immigrants so it would hypocritical. The ones that don't like Mexicans (Or any other south American for the most part) just dont want poor immigrants which is understandable but most are cool still.

It's not hugely important of course, but it wears you down after a month or two and you can't wait to get back home so you can inform someone that the best part of them dribbled down their mums legs at birth without them taking offense and looking at you like you've dug their grandparents up and pissed on them.

All of those countries are good but the USA loves hardworking immigrants like my parents. Places like the northeast have high Russian populations in my experience and you would be taken with open arms from everyone. Also, American Women love Euro accents so you wouldnt have an issue in that department.

Australia/NZ would be the best choice, but their time zone is fucked up. USA/Canada great choices too

don't listen to the people saying nature is gonna tear you a new one, nature is fine so long as you don't piss them off snakes/crocs are rare depending on where you live anyway it is however fairly expensive if you decide to live in somewhere like sydney or melbourne canada and australia have some of the most liveable cities in the world tho so i'd say look into those two

I don't know why my fellow Australians are saying Australia, apparently they don't know that we're currently full so fuck off

Only come if you can handle banter. If you are a sensitive feminist Democrat, it's not the place for you.

i've been watching some aussie news for a while and your media seems to be just as cucked. it's even worse than cnn at times. i wonder if it's only the media or the big cities going down the crapper as well.

Australian news networks like 9nines and especially current affairs are just full of bullshit stories with one-sided opinions, kind of like the documentary Blackfish. CNN is also shit. I only look at NHK (Japanese News) now honestly, Australia is just braindead...

Only come to Australia if you have money cause if you live in a bad neighbourhood its a shithole if you have money I 100% recommend australia
