Leaving Messi to get rekt by cr7 hahahaha
2018-02-14 22:45
Wait you're kidding right? Neymar was far better than Ronaldo this game, you calling a penalty and a knee tap in "rekt by cr7?". What is your iq level?
2018-02-14 22:50
You know that its useless to tell ronaldo fans that he wasnt good in the game, they will always tell you 2 goals etc
2018-02-14 22:51
Yeah all of them are delusional, no point really to talk to them, they're mostly retarded
2018-02-14 22:52
fact
2018-02-14 22:53
I don't like either of them but I don't get how Neymar could have been better than Ronaldo... He kept playing alone or wasting chances with poor choices, while Ronaldo, even though he was pretty quiet, still managed to score 2 goals in the end... doesn't matter how he scored them. Neymar is just obsessed with the Ballon d'or, but he needs to remember that getting rekt in RO16 is not gonna make him win it, no matter how many goals he scores.
2018-02-14 23:22
How? Neymar dribbled through 3-4 players, creating chances all the time, throughout the whole game, while Ronaldo was invisible for 88 minutes and scoring 2 insanely easy goals, almost with no effort. And then you comment this? I am very confused.
2018-02-14 23:23
Try scoring a penalty in front of 80000 people being 1-0 down, and tell me how easy it is after. It's not like playing in your garden you know... He took it very well, it was unstoppable for the GK. The second one is down to placement, flairing opportunities, head, knee or foot, who cares? He was there to put it in the net, which many other players would not have done. It doesn't mean he was good overall, but far from terrible. People need to understand that he's now pretty much a pure CF and won't do 50m runs like he did before, he's just consistent in scoring goals in the CL, and if it were so easy, all attackers would do it, yet he's once more the top scorer in the CL. Neymar was ok, but in the end almost didn't weigh on the match at all, as I said, he could have passed the ball more often, and when he did, didn't always do the right choices, if you watched the match and you've seen Neymar play before, you should know he usually plays way way better than that.
2018-02-14 23:31
The topic was about Neymar being better OVERALL than CR7, which I don't agree with. For me Neymar created much more chances hence being the better player. This way of thinking is the same reason why only goal scorers win Ballon d'or, since everyone thinks the best player is the one who score goals, I'd say the best player is the one have raw talent and being an amazing playmaker. So sad what the football community has become.
2018-02-14 23:33
Obviously I don't think that way since I told you "It doesn't mean he was good overall, but far from terrible." Marcelo was way way better for example, Rabiot too, etc... Also, who cares about raw talent? I'm talking about their performances in that match, if raw talent is all that matters, Messi would have 10 Ballons d'or. People always think they're gonna sound smart by saying that goals don't matter, but someone has to score them, doesn't matter how. Scoring goals doesn't mean it's everything that counts and that you suck if you don't score them, but if you play as a CF and you score 2, unless you missed tons of chances (which Ronaldo didn't), it means you most likely played well... He's a CF, Neymar isn't, they have to have impact in their own way, and Ronaldo had more impact, even if he didn't shine all the time.
2018-02-14 23:45
If you take away the goals, then Ronaldo did a terrible match, so ye, he saved his rating and critics by scoring those two. To me the best individual player of the season should be awarded, and not the best goal scorer. Oh well, it is what it is.
2018-02-14 23:45
"To me the best individual player of the season should be awarded, and not the best goal scorer." Of course. Never denied that. I'm just telling you that Ronaldo is a CF and scored 2 goals, which is what is asked of him, if at the end of the season Ronaldo has 40 goals and Neymar has 10 goals and 50 assists and kept contributing to the wins of his team, of course Neymar should get the Ballon d'or, I'm talking about TONIGHT, not about the Ballon d'or or anything.
2018-02-14 23:49
Yup, he did his job, I guess.
2018-02-14 23:53
he is lucky he didn't get 2 yellows today imo, dived so many times holy shit
2018-02-14 22:50
Messi got carried by Xavi and Iniesta all those years in Barcelona
2018-02-14 22:52
Wow you really haven't watched a single game of Messi, have you?
2018-02-14 22:53
Okay if that's how u wanna go; "Pelé was the worst player in the world, his goals were pure garbage and he couldn't score a single goal on his own, god he sucks" My quote here is pretty much the same as your comment, idiotic
2018-02-14 22:54
I'm not saying that Messi is bad, but part of his success in Barcelona came from Xavi and Iniesta. Let's compare Messi playing for Argentina for example, he's not that successful bcuz he don't have that playmakers like Barcelona have. And Pelé is a bit overrated btw
2018-02-14 23:04
Messi single-handedly took his national team to WC, what else can he do? Wake me up when Ronaldo creates and assists as much as Messi do, or any other player. You can't say Ronaldo is a great player cuz he isn't
2018-02-14 23:06
Ronaldo also took his national team to World Cup, and Ronaldo is a goal machine, not a playmaker. You can't deny that he is a great player. But I agree that individually Messi is above, in terms of raw talent and skill.
2018-02-14 23:14
Now, the question is, should all the "Best player"-awards go to the player who scores the most goals or to the player who understands the game in a deeper level, can create chances, can assist in a magical way and simply make his team better?
2018-02-14 23:16
Goals win you the game in the end of the day nobody talks about chances just about the final score
2018-02-14 23:37
Indeed, but everyone talks about who wins the individual awards too so it's a relevant topic.

While i don't agree he single-handedly took his team to the WC (Argentina has a lot of good players) the above poster is truly retarded.
2018-02-14 23:16
Argentina has many good players but somehow all of them (except for Messi) play like bad in the national team. It's unbelievable how many mistakes Higuain and Icardi do.

often has been the problem in football with so many players though, players not being able to transfer their performances for their clubs to their national teams.
2018-02-14 23:51
And this proves how great Messi is, he carried this team to a World Cup and Copa America final. If only of the many (Icardi, Di Maria....) would have stepped up like Messi did, Argentina would have won at least one of the titles. CR7 did pretty good during Euro 2016, but his team carried in the most important moment. F.e. he was so bad against Poland but Sanchez stepped up and scored, Nani didn't miss the last penalty. He did nothing in the final, but the whole team stepped up and won it.
2018-02-14 23:55
I just created my account to reply to your silly comment messi SINGLE HANDEDLY took argentina to finals? did nothing in playoffs , he didn't do shit in playoffs. he only played against mighty bosnia, iran and nigeria wow, in the groupstage against shitty teams. IN playoffs ROmero was named MOTM vs netherlands, messi was just average Higuain was named MOTM vs Belgium, messi only sucked socks Messi was named MOTM vs Switzerland only, i was watching that match and yeah he was amazing. in finals he did eat shit, and no doubt is needed. wtf are you talking about man? only reason best player award was given to messi is because it was commercially smart decision.
2018-02-14 23:47
"And Pelé is a bit overrated btw" from all the shit that i read in this thread, this is the biggest one by far
2018-02-14 23:50

2018-02-14 22:54

2018-02-14 23:06
didnt psg say that neymar had to win ucl in order to go to real next season?
2018-02-14 23:11
I dont think they ever said something about him going to Real. But i think he just went to psg so Real can buy him from them cause i think he had something in his contract in barcelona which made it impossible to go to RMA from barca.
2018-02-14 23:13
How did he get rekt for fucks sake fucking dumb ppl Ronaldo was absent whole game besides 2 free goals PSG will eliminate Madrid anyways
