At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. As long as you eat more calories than you burn, then you will gain weight. That's a fact, no way around it. If you won't gain weight, eat more until you start to gain weight. And of course, it's easier to gain weight eating fats, since 1g of fat = 9kcal, but 1 gram of protein and carbohydrates = 4kcal.

I'm not recommending a shitty diet to anyone, I'm just speaking in terms of weight gain or weight loss you don't need any of that pseudo-science bullshit that people spout, it's simply calories in and calories out. Do you have an active life / job ? I could eat 2500 kcal daily and still lose about a kilo weekly. Use a program to calculate your calorie intake. Wanne lose weight? Eat 500 kcal less daily than what you need. Wanna gane weight? Eat 250 kcal (or even more) daily than what you need.

You need much carbohydrates and fat - chocolate, pizza, cookies, drinks with sugar (fanta, coca cola etc.), cakes, any fried food like potatoes chiken. My BMI increased from 20,68 to ~29,54 for just a year or two, because I ate pretty much only sugar and fat and almost didn't move my ass.

aim to build muscle some fat gain is inevitable. because "defining" doent exist and you cant just turn fat into muscle. eat tonnes of carbs and proteins and lift weights. remember that if you do cardio you gotta eat more to account for this. i recommend you buy a mass gainer supplement if you are struggling to eat lots

Depends what you do during the day to, you might move around a lot so that you actually burn those 2900 calories you eat. I would say the absolutely easiest way by far to gain weight is to drink 2L a milk a Day for a month and see how it works out for you. Liquid calories are so easy to consume, you will have no problem gaining weight with that. Drink the milk with the highest fat ofc
