PCPartPicker part list: pcpartpicker.com/list/qRC99J CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor $334.99 CPU Cooler: CRYORIG - H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler $34.89 Motherboard: MSI - Z370-A PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard $117.89 Memory: GeIL - EVO POTENZA 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory $156.99 Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $59.79 Video Card: MSI - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB GT OCV1 Video Card $384.98 Case: Cooler Master - MasterBox MB600L ATX Mid Tower Case $29.99 Power Supply: Corsair - CXM 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply $54.99 Optical Drive: Asus - DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer $18.89 Total: $1193.40 This is the best price/quality ratio u can find on the internet if u wanna build a gaming pc and don't come saying "haha no SSD,haha no ryzen" cause they are unnecessary for a gaming experience, especially the ryzen is really overrated. Also, prebuilt pc are always trash, don't get baited by "pc experts" in your local city shop or funny web sites and assembly your own pc with your hands, it's not that hard, if you can manage Lego constructions u can do it. Have fun

i7 for gaming? 16 GB ram for gaming? Optical Drive in 2k18? Really? Do i5 cpu and 8gb ram and get ssd. Fast loading screens is also "gaming experience"
2018-02-28 16:07
i7 because the next gen will be cpu intensive like physics, bigger open worlds and better ai, u will see with cyberpunk game. 16 gb is already the standard for gaming, see kingdom come deliverance, under 16gb it begins to stutter
2018-02-28 16:09
i5 8400 is basically same benchmarks and a lot cheaper

I disagree about the 16GB RAM being the 'standard' for gaming and i7 being better for those games. Perhaps for simulation games, yeah. And, what monitor are you going to use? People seem to forget this is also a part of your selection. Same goes for the case. Does your monitor have G-Sync / FreeSync? Will improve your FPS as you don't need V-sync and such. Tearing / Stuttering will not be a problem so you can downgrade specs a bit. Your setup looks good but still has some flaws in my opinion.
2018-02-28 16:17
if u wanna prepare for next gen 16gb ram is essential mate, there is no point in having an high tier config with 8gb of ram, same for the cpu, the i5 is very similiar in price, might as well get an i7 and be safe, i built a pc 4 years ago with a 970gtx and i5 4790k, it still runs games fine, but on ultra obviously is gonna break.
2018-02-28 18:30
Seems like a great setup, except an optical drive isnt really needed anymore Make sure to order the version of the case that has room for the optical drive, there's also a version without a slot for it.
2018-02-28 16:12
well, the thing is you never know when you gotta burn a cd/dvd or a parent/friends brings you a cd/dvd, after all its only 20€ for an optical drive, why not buy it

1.2K is more than enough for a good PC. With 1.2k u can buy everything from zero, like a whole PC and gaming mouse, headset, keyboard... especially if u mainly play CS, u can build a decent PC for 800$ for CS
2018-02-28 16:19
800$ is not enough if u wanna play new games on high / ultra 1080p

you ever head that cpu and gpu should be balanced? i5 won't be any worse for gaming as it would give the GPU 100% load
2018-02-28 16:26
the price is very similiar anyway, better prepare for the next gen

idk it’s just better for any game to get a better gpu with a weaker cpu now except cs go for stable 144/240fps+ without any drops
2018-02-28 21:59
wait till ryzen 2 & new nvidia dude buying pc now is stupid
2018-02-28 16:29

2018-02-28 21:59
Buy a SSD please
2018-02-28 22:25
Lol noob, that cooler aint gonna cool that cpu, also 1060 will bottleneck 8700k, also that Motherboard vRam is not so good, so it wont overclock so good. lemme teach you the art of value build with parts available atm -1080p gaming, no bottlenecks, no overkill, great performance, cool temps, no need for overclocking, because most of the kids dont know how to do it, ssd, and all under 1000$ -Optimal for games and workload. pcpartpicker.com/list/Rvhxr6

stopped reading at i5 2.8ghz, then realized i should had stopped at lol, noob
2018-02-28 22:38
boost at 4ghz for single threaded apps, 3.8 at all cores, cool af, you know nothing about builds, kys
2018-02-28 22:40
from 2.8 to 4 ? in what fantasy world do you live?

2018-02-28 22:42
its gonna fry
2018-02-28 22:42
nope, 65w tpd, it just needs cheap af cooler such as 212evo, temps under 60C in full load... i7's are frying without decent liquid cooling. And with cheaper non oc mobos coming soon, its gonna be even better value
2018-02-28 22:44
my i5 4690k went from 3.5 to 4.2 i find it hard to believe a cpu can go from 2.8 to 4
2018-02-28 22:46
8th gen is wayyyy improved in terms of overclocking and power efficiency, all with better IPC performance, and this new i5's are 6cores. 2.8 is base clock ment to be power saving while not in full load You keep confirming how little you know, just stop bashing yourself . imgur.com/a/jvJ1v
2018-02-28 22:48
i hate to say it but you might be right, it has been long time since i've done this stuff
2018-02-28 22:49
Lmaoo since when is a 1060 that expensive????? All bc of btc mining?
2018-02-28 22:30
Not just bitcoin, great factors are Samsung/Huawei/Apple paying more for the memory in smartphones (GPUS are using the same ones), so it cost more now, and the shortages are driving prices up...
