pc upgrade

I'm finally gonna upgrade my pc, I'm not sure if I should get an intel i3 8100 or a ryzen 3 1200/1300 problem with i3 8100 is that mobos are expensive, but that could be helpful in the future if I want to upgrade to a better cpu, cheaper mobos are supposed to come out in april, but in december they said they were supposed to come in february, so yeah Problem with ryzen is that... well, it's amd, I'm currently using a core 2 quad 9300, a 10 year old cpu and I'm pretty happy with it, I've seen my friends getting amds and having lots of issue with them, fps drops, one even stopped working after a year

I looked around and they've been saying "cheaper h370 b360 boards are on their way" since october I'm willing to spend that extra 50euros on a board even though they will probably come out in april

ryzen is garbage man. i mean look at the clock rates. compare to i3 8100 its shit. the i3 8100 is like i5 6600.

Wait a month or so and they will relase b370 or other chipset cheaper than z370 ... z370 its directly for OC.

Someday it will be not worth it ... They always want you to think that way ... but z370 you will upgrade one day ... then they will present new platform and say old is not good enough etc etc etc.

I doubt it since I'm still happily gaming on a core 2quad with an asus p5kpl se and 4gb of ram ddr2, my next upgrade will probably happen in 10 years, unless my pc breaks Love the way you phrased your thoughts, makes you look like an old chinese wise man "BUT BEWARE! z370 you will upgrade one day!"

Wasn't planning on changing the gpu anytime soon, it's a solid low end gpu and I'm more than happy with it

To put it into a perspective, 8100 is exactly the 7500 but cheaper, even ryzen 1500x is worse than latter in any way. Cheapest superior ryzen cpu is 1600 which still has worse gaming performance and 10% at most multi core performance. To clarify, are you going to buy from Amazon? Or some other place. To be sure I know the right price for you.

Amazon, already kinda worked it out, I'll spend about 280euros for 8gb of ddr4 ram, mobo and cpu, I already got a gpu hdd psu

> one even stopped working after a year 1) If you go for a cheapfuck PSU and a cheapshit motherboard - then don't complain. People are dumb enough to save money by buying cheap parts and then they complain that something got fucked. 2) You may have fps drops with Ryzen in some games because it's a completely new product from a company whose processors sucked many years, of course game devs adjust their games for Intel because the majority of people have Intel processors. And the games like Fallout 4, Hitman, Far Cry Primal, Battlefield 1 benefit from Intel CPUs more, because they either use old engines or their developers are lazy enough to not care that Ryzen came out and it's an OK CPU. To not be surprised by performance just read reviews, for example: techspot.com/review/1505-intel-core-8th-.. techspot.com/review/1514-core-i5-8400-vs.. techpowerup.com/reviews/Intel/Core_i9_79.. (this one and the 13th page show the average fps, the 14th and the 15th - the minimum fps) 3) When it comes to Ryzen it's also about its being upgradable within 4 different generations, the socket AM4 supports Zen, Zen Refresh, Zen 2 and Zen 3, the latter will come in 2020 and still be compatible with the motherboards released in 2017. If you go for i3/i5/i7 of the 8th generation it's only compatible within its generation, I mean, next year Intel releases Ice Lake that will not be compatible with any current motherboards. You should also take into account that with Ryzen you can use RAM of any frequency, while with Intel you should get a Z370/390 motherboard to be able to use DDR4-2800/3000/3200+ because the cheap chipsets (H370, B360) only support DDR4-2400 (for i3) and DDR4-2666 (for i5/i7). And yes it may matter in some games: youtu.be/C1LHvLPERMM youtu.be/cfNVm9Wbvto youtu.be/7IkKg5i7_Ag I mean, if you go for Intel you should get a Z370/390 motherboard. If you go for Ryzen you may go for a cheaper B350/450 motherboard. In any case you should go for DDR4-3000 2*8 GB to not bottleneck your PC at least by your RAM.

z370 mobo is not even expensive, not sure why so many are concerned with $130 mobo
