Some of the worlds leading mathematicians, physicists, and astrophysicists are Russian. Their school education system ranks 5th (for a large country *land mass* that is still to this day recovering its economy after the fall of the Soviet Union this is very impressive). In another 10-15 years, the outlook on the Russian Federation will be very different. worldtop20.org/2017-world-best-education.. Edit: In large part this is all thanks to Vladimir Putin, without him Russia was just a nation with the largest nuclear arsenal. If the West would simply work with the man, the world would be a very different place today. People to this day still attempt to monopolize the world, it simply won't happen.

2018-03-19 09:34
Well, I have been alive since the 1st day Putin got elected, if he didn't get in, the same sanctions would still be placed on Russia, the western world would still be poking hatred and corruption at us, and there would be nothing for us to do, Putin is in power because he makes Russia strong, Russia needs to be strong because of how hardened everyone in the West is to us as a nation, I understand some of the sanctions but the way your news outlets operate to alienate Putin and his regime is disgusting, it's truly disgraceful to call yourselves reasonable when all you do is smear Russia and Putins legislation, he was and is what Russia needs, I don't see anyone taking his place until he dies.

I'm not sure hes the best choice, but as some russians explained to me once (paraphrasing a bit): We had terrible leadership before him, we're not sure what we will get if we get someone else. Putin has continually improved the majority of our major concern areas within the nation. Which means we know we will keep improving with his leadership. I can only agree from the outside looking in that things are looking improved. However, some of the media reports from Russia during the election processes looks a hell of a lot shady when it comes to Putin. But I'm not gonna say those are true or false, seeing as I don't live in Russia and can't speak russian so I only see the western medias reports.
2018-03-19 10:04
Yep, people prefer slow improvement over risky big changes, because they learned from the past that big changes lead to chaos. So they vote for evolution, not the revolution.
2018-03-19 10:15
What if i told you Russian economy is getting worse? gdp per capita: tradingeconomics.com/russia/gdp-per-capi.. 10 y bond yield: tradingeconomics.com/russia/government-b.. employment rate: tradingeconomics.com/russia/employment-r.. productivity : tradingeconomics.com/russia/productivity job offers: tradingeconomics.com/russia/job-offers etcetc
2018-03-19 13:51
1. You shouldn't tell me, you should tell them 2. Try to show these charts to my 55 yo mother for example, she would answer "life before Putin was much more worse, so fuck you". People feel that's it's getting better so they don't care about indexes 3. It is understood that economy could be unstable for the last 4 years because sanctions and oil prices drop. People believe that sanctions will have positive effect in the long run, they are not only restricting, but also provide opportunities
2018-03-19 14:49
Well yeah before him, you had the remainings of KGB roaming around. Now it's at least civiliazed. 3. The economy has been in decline for a couple years now. The sanctions could create a more self-sustaining Russia, but other than that i don't see much upside.
2018-03-19 14:52
one door closes, another door opens. china-russian relations are at their highest ever rn.
2018-03-19 19:08
Fine, so what do you suggest? Grudinin is US puppet, Zhirinovsky is US puppet, Navalny is US puppet (yet he did not participate), rest are just irrelevant. For every Russian with half of brain Putin was the only choice.
2018-03-20 00:18
US puppet.... People who think US is not an enemy are puppets? And i don't follow russian politics, just wanted to shine light on the fact Putin is not making Russia better.
2018-03-20 09:28
People who work in the interests of US are their puppets. Putin already made Russia much better during his presidency. If not the situation with Crimea... I am not saying Putin did something wrong, he has no other choice.
2018-03-20 14:55
I doubt they work for the US interests. He did, but he is not anymore. And he had a choice not to invade Crimea?
2018-03-21 11:06
he had a choice to not invade crimea but why would he do that when he only lost it because of the dark machinations of usa and europe. he protected russia's access to the black sea and the mediterranean. that is worth more in the long term than lost money due to sanctions. even navalny would've done the same thing.
2018-03-22 00:48
That is a typical Russian logic, if we can, we take. Italy could invade Vatican, but they are not dicks. Russia is like a typical hltv user.
2018-03-22 16:29
not really. all great powers are the same. they all protect their influence and seek to project it into neighbouring areas. countries are not individual people lol. it's no different to how the usa occupies guantanamo bay and won't give it back to cuba despite it being an unfair treaty and the fact cuba want their land back.
2018-03-22 20:47
I think they had an agreement and it is old news.... And also if USA occupies, they improve the place, but when Russia occupies they fuck everything up, like soviet union, everything became worse... Russia had no right to Ukraine, that shouldn't happen in 21st century, but Russia can never act like a normal country, everybody knows if you have beef with someone, you just fight proxy wars in middle east, noone gives a shit abou them.
2018-03-22 20:52

2018-03-22 20:58

2018-03-23 08:11

2018-03-23 09:57
>Mad? Don't worry after Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Georgia and other ex-USSR republics... we'll come to you. :) I guess i have a reason to hate russians like you, and it seems you hate latvians as well, if you want us to have a worse life...
2018-03-23 10:00
Baited, LUL. There's a grain of truth in every joke tho. For sure you have a reason... Mentally illness or something like that. I don't hate Latvians, but I often see Latvians talk shit about Russia/Russians. Typical brainwashed zombies who hate whole nationality/country for something what its leaders did/do.
2018-03-23 10:06
Well i get baited when it's about latvia. Then why do say you will invade us if you don't hate latvians? You are Russian, you get brainwashed almost as much as north koreans. And i don't hate all russians, only those who live in Latvia and can't even learn the language, and russians like you, ex #121
2018-03-23 10:14
> Then why do say you will invade us if you don't hate latvians? You're talking like I myself will come and invade your country, LUL. I said it just to bait you because I was triggered with your stupid hate, although as I mentioned above it has grain of truth (at least in my opinion). > You are Russian, you get brainwashed almost as much as north koreans. Don't generalize. Brainwashing has nothing to do with nationality or country. You can say for example that US is the most brainwashed country, but there is many people from US who are less brainwashed than other countries with "free" media. And comparison with North Korea is just stupid. Hating anyone/anything is retarded in itself.
2018-03-23 10:31
Well if it wasn't a bait, then it doesn't matter if you invade, its the idea that you should. Of course there are people who get info from trusted sources, but the general population will get info from tv/news and Russian media is awful, full of lies. American media also has lies, especially on the jewish problem, but in general i would trust it more than russian. The good thing about russian media is that they are not pussies like american.
2018-03-23 10:34
I told you it was a bait, but it has a truth in it. It's my half-serious prediction if you wish, based on my vision of what's going on and it has nothing to do with what I want or what I should. For me there is no such thing as "trusted sources". Even if you know your sources are truthful af and they have 99% of truth in it, you don't know what exactly is true and what is lie, so you still have to filter EVERYTHING what it tells to find that 1% of lie. Not many people do it, so majority is brainwashed anyway, doesn't matter if it's Russia or US or any other country.
2018-03-23 11:02
look on a map. russia's flank would be narrower if it controlled the neck from the baltic states to ukraine. all throughout history russia has been invaded from europe. poles/lithuanians, swedes, germans, french, etc. so it makes sense from a strategic point of view to control this area.
2018-03-23 08:28
Yeah and Russia would have bigger access to baltic sea, it would be rather good to Russia, also we would have around 0 chance to defend ourselves. But as a Latvian, i don't want to be poor, i just want to live here without constant Russian bullshit.
2018-03-23 09:51
They actually do... If Grudinin does not work in the interests of US then he is the stupidest politician ever existed.
2018-03-22 15:23
Maybe they do, hard for me to say. The funny thing is many ppl in USA are mad that their politicians are working for Russia, and russians think theirs work for USA. So at the end they work for each other i guess.
2018-03-22 16:21
People in USA are only mad at Vladimir Putin. :)
2018-03-22 18:43
I guess then you guys are mad at God-Emperor Trump

you clearly have no idea, what is happening in Russia, right? It is easy to admit, because i have no idea, what's in UK. But at least I can read in english so I can find some sources to figure out. Can you read russian? Or talk to russians? I doubt it. You try to look smart but in fact you just eat shit.
2018-03-19 19:23
Actually, u said nothing, 0 arguments why he's not right. I can read in russian and I still think that Putin is a dictator. No matter who supports Navalny, they must give him a chance to be nominated.
2018-03-19 23:29
why should I prove my point of view if you can read russian, it's literally everywhere. It's a closed theme. Like every newswebsite had an article about Navalny's story december 2017. He can't run an election campaigne because it's against the law. Even echr did not support him. This guy clearly buried himself with his shady business things. (dont even try to protect him by saying that it's fake, because it's not) Wanna know more? Look for it yourself
2018-03-20 01:30
You can be able to read in 20 languages but it doesn't make your understanding any better if you still know shit.
2018-03-20 09:16
I don't understand why you are saying this to me. It wasn't my argument about language, that man said that if you can't read in Russian then you know nothing. I just tried to say that I can read in Russian and I still agree with the opinion that Putin is a dictator. You can read only in English and know more than most of the people who can read in Russian.
2018-03-20 11:45
Basically I say it to everyone who read the thread tbh. I didn't argue about you personally, even though I don't agree with your point about dictator. Not really. High education in Russia is nowhere near 1st world countries. Most colleges and universities are absolutely shit tier and basically selling diplomas. I got bachelor's degree in Russia barely studying and then worked my ass off for bachelor's degree in US with 3-5 hours every day with books after college. Difference in education quality is massive. Middle school education is roughly the same but Russian kids are brainwashed to obey teachers, government and even religion. US kids learn how to use freedom their ancestors fought for.
2018-03-19 10:10
Why are you comparing Higher Education that costs between 50-80k tuition a year/semester to higher education Colleges in Russia which aren't even a fraction of that? When I came to Canada my educational level was so far ahead of all my classmates in grade 6, I basically repeated school for 2 years (could not get the jump due to my poor English as it was my first year in the country). There are great universities all around the world, the educational system is graded between years 12-18. If you had to slave away for a bachelors degree, I wouldn't hold your opinion of to high a merit anyway.

GDP drops for half it's value and you think everybody approves this. The whole parliament is usually dismissed in such circumstances. And the candidates are Putin's mutts that create an image of "election" by pouring water at each other and swearing on debates, so even the one who is scared of attending debates and who has no program whatsoever seems like a reasonable choice. Real opposition is instantly persecuted. tradingeconomics.com/russia/gdp
2018-03-19 16:17
Russias economic troubles started with the civil unrest in your country. Russia had one of the fastest growing economies in the world, what Putin did to get the country out of the recession when he came to power is nothing short of amazing. Secondly people compare economies on a year to year basis, in 2016 Russia came out of the recession caused by Western sanctions with a profit of 1.5%. That number has grown substantially in 2017, and is on a rising upward trajectory, in large part due to the focus on exports of Russian agriculture. 2.bp.blogspot.com/-ccqHOl_PrLo/VkRWzyJUy.. Did that suddenly slip everyone's mind? I keep having to repost this to ignorant assholes on this website.
2018-03-19 23:12
How about you check the oil prices in the 90s and during Putin's time? Don't you see the clear pattern here? Especially after oil price drop.
2018-03-19 23:27
Why do you think oil prices went up wise ass? Want me to show you graph with the direct correlation? cdn.static-economist.com/sites/default/f.. Vladimir Putin put in a lot of work in international relations, a sign of a good president. His only crime is doing his job to well. Remember when Georgia attacked the Russian army, and Russia retaliated in full in a direct answer to their declaration of war? I didn't see Georgia getting sanctioned, because belligerent idiots like you blame everything on Russia. 2018-03-19 23:02
russians' number one argument would be saying that the news outlets from the west are bashing putin, but from what it looks like in Russia there is a lot of propaganda glorifying him.
2018-03-20 00:33
If you think there is only one-way propaganda (glorifying Putin) then you don't see further than your nose.
2018-03-20 09:10

2018-03-20 12:19
this is whats funny about this country, people went against all odds to create something nobel prize worthy for example korolev, the rocket science mastermind, was falsely accused of anti-soviet activity(rumors say that his rival engineer was behind it) and spent several years in gulag and couldve died from cold on his way out but luckily there was a random civvie who helped him out its fucking insane, looks like the harder they live the harder they want to learn and be great

Are muricans smart? If yes, why they elected Trump !?
2018-03-23 09:59
Because Trump is better than Hillary.
2018-03-23 10:00
If so, then maybe Putin is way better than his contra-candidate
2018-03-23 10:02
Sure, he is better.
2018-03-23 10:03
Rather brainwashed.
2018-03-23 09:59
russians in cs one of the worst teammates same as uk and turks irl most of us friendly and rather smart (who dont drink vodka 2 times per day :D) why putin? cause f*cking elections rigged. putin - russian mafia
2018-03-23 10:43
no... but they are tough
2018-03-23 10:50
Funny how many russians defend Putin. I think they like to get ass raped? Obviously ruskis have low IQ if they felt for putin propaganda. There's fucking videos online showing the workers on the voting stations voting for putin over and over again. He keeps flying over europe without permission, trying to show his "power" like we'd be living in the 60's again. Not much difference between him and Kim Jung tbh.
