Do you even know what a theory is? Scientists just don't put shit out without proof. I suggest you look up the definition of "theory"
2018-03-23 07:11
i think he meant that we just unconditionally believe what the scientists say without actually fully understanding the theories themselves and/or the evidence.

science is ever changing with new facts while religion assumes it has all the answers
2018-03-23 07:26
science is a shit religion like whenever you get proved you just change science. just like all these fake faze fans. where's the loyalty?

So for you loyality is just blindly following some "facts" even tho they can be proved wrong? :)

I partially agree with you, many people trust science without any questions while a lot of mainstream science is just pseudo-science masquerading as truth.

Most people are scientifically illiterate. You have places like buzzfeed saying “science says <insert outrageous claims>” and yeah...that’s not science. At best it’s bad science. Anyone can do a poorly run/bias experiment, get skewed results and say it’s science. It’s up to the public to read the data and judge it for themselves. Who funded this project? What are the limitations? Is this generalizable? Any conflicts of interest? Sampling bias? Is this reproducible? Etc etc

ive read many physics books and they are all lies. can you prove the big bang to me?
2018-03-25 08:28
I think he means in our measurement of energy, tension, speed, etc. And not in the thereoetical means of understanding the Universe. lol

but its implied that i am talking about the theoretical means of the universe lol
2018-03-25 08:36
I'm not talking about you.
2018-03-25 08:37
We know that our universe is always expanding. Logical that in the past galaxies were closer together. I agree that the state of the universe in the earliest instants of the Big Bang expansion is still poorly understood, but that doesn't mean that Big Bang theory is a lie. I don't think that you clearly understand what scientists try to achieve. They DO NOT want to offend religious feelings. They DO NOT say that 100% GOD is a fairy tale. It just our galaxy works like this, it doesn't require a GOD. Scientists just want to understand how our galaxy works. And you have to say thank you to these people, without them you wouldn't be able to use your gadgets and write your comments.
2018-03-25 10:51
that's scientology you dumb cunt.

Scientific breakthroughs have saved more lives in the past 150 years than every life taken in every recorded war in human history combined - and its not even close. To suggest that science has no track record is incredibly naive. Imagine going into a hospital in the year 1900. You would have had no access to: X-Rays (1900s), Defibrillators (1960s), Dialysis Machines(1960s), Respirators (1950), Ultrasound Machines (1970s), MRIs (1980), Heart Monitors (1950s),Intravenous Tubes (1950s), not even Local Anesthesia (1930s). If you were lucky enough to survive your stay at the hospital in lieu of all these scientific breakthroughs, there was always the good chance you would have died from unnecessary germs because even the best doctors didn’t know the importance of washing hands between surgeries. Assuming you had avoided the hospital entirely, you or someone you know would have been dealing with Smallpox, Typhoid, Rheumatic Fever, Scarlet Fever, Polio, or Tuberculosis – all death sentences. Thanks science. Richard Dawkins perhaps best explains the difference between science and religion: "Scientists are required to back up their claims not with private feelings but with publicly checkable evidence. Their experiments must have rigorous controls to eliminate spurious effects." Things like belief and faith are not necessary for Science.

That's not science. Jesus gave us all those things. Really chill dude.
2018-03-25 09:04
No, science is backed up with maths, and if you took some time to learn it, then you could read how scientists come to their conclusion in the physics journal and other pages in the web. youtube.com/watch?v=QVtYAfyzkb4 Watch this video. This is the difference between a science and a religion.

can you show me the maths of the big bang?
2018-03-25 23:55
No, because 1. I dont know the exact maths necesary to make it clear (the singularity, the predicted temperature, the predicted amount of lithium etc) and It would take a conciderable amount of space to write down and derive

Did you hear what i said? Do you want a flash course in group theory, lie-algebra and topology? Of course there is and just because you got C's in high school trigonometry dosen't mean there aren't mathematics that predict nature.

Terrible bait thread to start flame-wars - Topic reported. Otherwise science relies a lot on theory, but it is also factual at the same time in accordance to some things only "science" can explain. The fact you have the audacity to compare science to that of biblical fiction is a little insulting-- but that is what this bait is for, hmm? I respect your opinion, but no need for this topic. Have a good day.
