i got an i7 8700K + gtx 1060 6gb + 16gb ram and didnt get constant 300 fps on low settings ? can some1 explain it to me just wtf
2018-04-18 14:11
what model ram do you have
2018-04-18 14:12
corsair ddr4 3000Mhz
2018-04-18 14:13
corsair is a brand. i asked which model.
2018-04-18 14:15
well 3000mhz is pretty good , i dont understand why u ask about the model
2018-04-18 16:12
because there is more to good ram than just high clock speed. timings matter. If he has 3000MHz CL20 then that would explain his shit fps
2018-04-18 19:31
Liar. those tiny details dont affect a single shit.
2018-04-18 19:40
okay its only my job im sure you know much better how computers work ram has big impact on your minimum fps

but timings ?
2018-04-18 19:44
timings matter. you have the mhz which says how many clock cycles the ram has per second, and timings say how many clock cycles it takes for the ram to execute a command. one number doesnt mean much without the other. with both you can determine the rams latency. csgo has a lot of non sequential memory access. the game has to load stuff at the right time. It cant display something on your screen before it happens or put things in the right place before you push a button. there will probably be at least hundreds of memory reads for every frame. unless all these pieces of memory are stored in the exact right order which the game cannot know during the previous frame, the ram latency will be applied to a lot of these reads. combined with the fact that you need really high framerate to play the game, cl timings are important. a couple nanoseconds doesnt seem like much but a couple nanoseconds multiplied by hundreds of non sequential memory accesses is a significant % of the 3.3ms your pc has to render a frame.

i have 2400mhz cl10-12-12 average right now is about 1600 cl8 / 2400 cl12 / 3000 cl15 2133 cl15 is pretty high latency.

2018-04-18 20:01
I would appreciate your help with somehing i have this build es.pcpartpicker.com/user/redyy-/saved/xd.. and i need a mobo thats around 200 euros and i cant seem to get to a conclusion
2018-04-18 20:11
theres not much difference in mobos, get one with the Z370 chipset. dont buy the cheapest one you can find and make sure PCIe slot layout works with whatever cards you have. every 200 euro board can overclock okay.
2018-04-18 20:17
How does 200 euro M/B differ from 100 euro in terms of overclocking? Let me tell you, it doesn't. It's all about power phase controls.
2018-04-18 23:13
more expensive boards generally have better 1 click OC and have more phases in cpu power supply which means mre stable OC If you can find a cheaper one that fits your needs then good for you. but i wouldnt recommend an inexperienced builder to try to save money by buying a cheap mobo when they dont know what theyre looking for. if that thing breaks it can break your cpu and or ram as well.
2018-04-19 11:21
Well that's partly wrong. What you're paying for in "premium" motherboards, in Z/X370 for example, are sound chips, SLI-support, useless heat sinks, visual lightning etc. There are sub $130 motherboards already with 10-phase power control and japcaps, that's all you need for OC. When OC goes wrong, it doesn't kill the CPU or RAM these days, only resets to default. Dedicated sound cards are always better than integrated and SLI is becoming a completely useless gimmick, not to speak of lightning. Simply claiming that "every 200 euro M/B can OC well" is total bullshit.
2018-04-19 11:27
i mean if the mobo actually breaks due to wear it will kill your components. sure a more expensive board will have more features and you dont need all the features. and it will have a bigger profit margin and a higher marketing budget. but you also buy a sort of guarantee that the manufacturer didnt skimp on any components too badly. a cheap board with a long warranty could also do that
2018-04-19 11:31
MTBF for all X370/Z370 motherboards is +100k hours / 5 years.
2018-04-19 11:32
not if you buy the cheapest one you can find
2018-04-19 11:32
i can give a recent example with gpus. i was looking to buy a 1060 3gb. i found an evga card that was much cheaper than the competition. good thing i looked at reviews because that thing overhests and throttles back if you put any load on it. always buy second cheapest component (if you dont know what youre doing) youtube.com/watch?v=mlg3H1StHpQ
2018-04-19 11:39
not sure which model you're referring to, but if it's the one for mini-ITX builds you're naturally seeing difference when heatsinks are half the size of standard.
2018-04-19 11:42
the single slot model. idk if its for mini itx builds. i know its cheap and you shouldnt buy it.
2018-04-19 11:46
RAM has zero impact on FPS with a dedicated GPU.
2018-04-18 23:12
stay in school kid
2018-04-19 11:19
Only when GPU is bottlenecking, will you see a noticeable change from RAM. With setups of this budget, that won't happen until 4K resolution.
2018-04-19 11:31
ram bottlenecks your performance every time that the dat your pc needs is not in cpu cache.
2018-04-19 11:32
Please provide a source techpowerup.com/reviews/Intel/Core_i7_87.. This isn't noticeable difference.
2018-04-19 11:34
as you can see on your link the higher the fps is, the more influence low latency and high bandwidth ram will have. you generally want to run csgo over 300fps. if i linearly extrapolate your chart to 300fps (which is erring on the side of caution) that is almost 30fps more just by not skimping on your ram.
2018-04-19 11:36
you can not linearly extrapolate a chart for software running on different engine
2018-04-19 11:40
why not? sure csgo might have more or less memory calls and a higher or lower cache hit rate. but the fundamental problem is the same. if you cpu needs data that is not in cache the whole render pipeline will have to wait until ram returns that data. thats why ram makes such a big difference for your minimum fps. in the worst case scenario where your system has to do a lot of out of order reads, low latency ram returns that data a bit faster than your average ram kit, and you wont experience as big of a framedrop. if you can find a test with 90% and 99% (or rather 1% and 10%, but you get the point) percentiles for framerate with different ram kits youll see an even more pronounced differene than with avg fps in csgo this worst case scenario occurs every time someone peeks

believe it or not! CsGO runs better in my old pc ( i5 4460 Gtx 770 8g of ram) was getting like 260 fps avg in any map. The thing is "The Source engine" is outdated this is the main reason that causes those issues. I can recommend to play on MacBook w Intel Iris Pro 1.5GB video card. You'll get stable 60 fps on small DM maps and 40-50 fps on mirage/d2. Other maps most likely will have 40 fps at max. It will cost you little more than you've paid for your setup, but with that you'll get nice white apple on top!

2018-04-18 20:13
lol I've got an i5 4460 and a gtx750ti and I get 300fps on spawn. 80% of the time above 200fps

Did you update your bios, drivers, etc? Already OC your cpu? Ram is setd to 3000mhz? Check if your RAM is running stable or if it has some slot malfunction, it happened with me.. my board had some issues so they gave me a new one. Set graphics card to performance and physix to GPU.

thx m8, some of your tips worked :)

there is an program, "autofixer.exe" just google that, and run that program, helped my friend from 300fps to 900fps. He had same processor, 1080ti tho.

I got a pc of the year 2012, i5–3750k @ 4,4 GHz, 8 GB G.SKILL Sniper and GTX670 and rarely drop below 250fps ingame no matter which res I play. But I prefer playing with capped fps @ 143.35 @ 144 hz. I tested a lot with different driver versions. It’s definitely not like the newest driver is always the best one. I found some older version back in days for windows 7 which boosted my fps +90% in combination with correct NVIDIA control panel settings. You should check your core-idle settings, if it is enabled, try to disable it, try different drivers and sort out your general settings. IT PROS often say... „The problem mostly sits infront of the computer!“ 😅

2018-04-18 20:37
I just tested cs go benchmark on latest nvidia drivers = 469.05 avg fps on old 378.49 nvidia driver ,same settings = 565.03 avg fps

I have i7 7700k + RX 480 8gb + 8gb team and I have constant 300+ fps
2018-04-18 20:48
How weird results that users 'r getting? My old pc had basicly; - Intel Core i7 920 @4.00 ghz oced (1st or 2nd generation an old shit that producted 2009) - Nvidia Gtx 770 4 gb - Intel 8 gb ram 1600mhz With that oldass setup; it's certain that i was getting constant 'n stable 400-500 fps around. (So it's not totally ram related like someAfter that i upgraded whole my setup to (except Gtx 770 at first) - Intel Core i7 8700k - Gskill Trident-Z Rgb 3866mhz - Gtx 770 still standin at first. So With this setup i was getting 600-700 fps around. 2 months later i switched to Nvidia Geforce Msi Gtx 1080 ti Gaming X. The weird thing is how ppl r gettin' bad result like 100-200 fps with Gtx 970, Gtx 1060 etc.? It's certain that it's not related just via rams. In my opinion Hardware adaptation, software issues r highly effects that.

Probably just missing display drivers. It's unreal how autistic some people are. There's no way your FPS is dipping to <300 with a new i7 and +GTX1060 on FHD. I'm constantly building second hand setups, CS:GO runs steady 300 capped with i5-2500k and GTX560 on FHD.

Big lie. i7 4770k 16gb ram gtx 770 and i constantly drop to under 120 FUCK THAT!
2018-04-19 11:54
This sounds ridiculous but check if your monitor is plugged into graphics card and not into another port... i7 8700 has integrated graphic card, make sure that yours 1060 is in use.

relax bro just wait 40 more years for source 2 and fps problems will be fixed

This is not true. I ran with a gtx 970 up until 2 month ago, my fps was locked on 299 and pushing 300 all the time.
2018-04-18 21:45

2018-04-18 21:44

2018-04-19 08:51
i have i5 6600k @ 4.4ghz + gtx 1050ti 4gb OC (i know its not a best card ) 8 Gb 2400 Mhz and im playing 1024x768 blackbars i got always 300 fps stable but 1 or 2 months ago after update i have huge drops now to 180 its unplayable when im playing on 144 hz fps drops from 300+ to 180 looks like 75 hz compared to 144 ... anyone know how to fix this s hi t ?
2018-04-18 23:20
i mean im feeling like game is working on low fps , and funny thing is if i change on 120 hz game is not smooth feeling like 75hz lcd ... i dont know how to fix this im done seriously
2018-04-18 23:23
Bios update Graphics update Drivers update (try driver booster) If you have our gpu OC make sure you are using correct settings or it will fuck up everything, and your OC to 4.4ghz maybe its not that stable.

m8 its CS:GO, its the worst optimized competitive game you can find. My bro also has brand new 8th gen i7 and an AMD gpu that is equivalent to gtx1070 (forgot model) and yet he doesnt have stable 300 fps. Fckin ridiculous game. If valve actually cared about it.
2018-04-18 23:21
autism != bad optimization pick a setup from sandy bridge era and CSGO runs at stable 300 FPS.

What do you expect? You've got a fucking 1060, as much as I know 350 is max that you will ever get.
