CASTERS IN DHM

Korea dev1sta
Why aren't the casters speaking through microphones and big speakers? (Sounds like when they're casting for Group Stages) And why can't we hear the crowd at all lol, are they only recording the sound from the microphone instead of the venue? Makes it so boring for playoffs

tbh they could've dominated last year, you saw how crazy they played individually and as a team when they added Guardian and olof. But I think they took other teams too lightly thats why they lost to SK in a bo5 in that event ( I forgot which). Then they played so godly in the Eleague Boston major, close match with c9 and lost, that probably broke their mentality. It could be a problem of motivation, and it seems that NiKo and rain have lost their form( Not really, but they're nowhere near as good as they were from last year). But hey, they're still wayyyyy better than SK rn xDDDD

You might say that im "Nationality Lover" or how to call that :D But without GuardiaN they wouldnt been in 4/6 Finals they attended -And I Think you are right, they have bad mentality after these loses but olof must come at least 1 month before Major because if they wont win major, it will be even worse than it is rn

I agree, Guardian has been the most consistent player on FaZe in finals, an absolute monster lol, especially in that Major final vs c9. Yeah, I hope they get back on track, they make for such a great competing tier 1 team in the pro scene :D

I think the main stage is being cast in french so they muted the stage and the casters are in a separate room

The French think to highly of themselves so they don't learn English, thus the stage speakers play the French casters' commentary.

If it isn’t casted in French for the venue, baguettes can’t understand what is going on. They are too full of themselves to learn English sadly. Expected really, I have had French teammates more toxic than Russians which is hilarious. Lol
2018-04-21 17:36
what... how r they too full of themselves to learn a language that isnt nvm i cant change ur mind

Because English is easy, and the fact that one won't learn the #1 trading language just because, and not actually have a good reason, then I take it it's either laziness or being full of yourself. I got told that without English I wouldn't have a shot at jobs outside of Denmark. So, I learned English. I didn't want to in the start, albeit my dad being British, but it's how it had to be.

I think it's just that since there are no french teams, they have no one to cheer for (which is still sad for a CS crowd).

Yeah but I heard there was French commentators in the arena hence why I just came with the answer to why the English ones didn't resonate sound as being in an arena. The lack of cheering definitely is the fact that no French teams is present for sure. But they were loud when Astralis won though.

I think the reason that we can't hear much from the crowd is because the casters are in a small room slightly far away from the arena, so only very loud cheering (like when Astralis won) could be heard. This makes it so boring though, I usually look forward to the playoffs of big events because the casters on speakers sound more excited and you can feel their passion, also the crowd hypes up the experience, what a shame that it isn't being cast in English :/ E: ridiculous grammatical mistake

Yeah maybe. Indeed though but I had the feeling that it would end like this when it came to France. France is a bit like having an event in China and Russia, you won't have too many people understanding English so it's not going to be the voice of the arena. It's sad indeed, I love when the casting resonates and the crowd goes I N S A N E. I bet they cheer more too than we can hear. For example, I was present back in Cologne 2016. I saw many on stream saying that the crowd sounded silent in some matches, which I can say wasn't the case at all in the arena, people were ecstatic EVERY match (except for Gambit vs Fnatic, but that was when they destroyed them and that was zero fun tbh).

I hope you can, because it's certainly one hell of an experience :D

its cuz dreamhack invested heavily in the french language stream so the french casters r probaly being heard in the crowd cuz... the event is in France and therefore the fans speak french...

Yeah, I asked because there were previous events that had English-speaking casters in the dome in non-English-speaking countries.
2018-04-21 17:59
ye i was thinking about that... like at major in poland and honestly idk guess cuz its major and most of CSGO audience is english but imagine being a fan and constantly having to hear english in the arena... no wonder that shit was empty.
