Not going to finnish military
 |
Finland Robbs3ncsgo
So as some of you already know in finland every man has to go to military for 6-12 months. Next monday is the "health inspection" if im in good enough condition for it. Im thinking of trying to get what we call "C-papers" in finland. Basically not mentally/physically in good enough condition to even go there. I would go there but my really high blood pressure and panic attacks arent really ideal for months of high pressure forest shit etc in -20 celcius winter where good stamina etc is needed. The thing im most afraid is getting kicked the fuck out of my home because im still living with my parents @17yo while studying. So wtf should i do

You will actually learn far less about yourself and acquire far less life skills by not going. I can only imagine what a ballache it is to have to do, but you’ll get a lot back from it. You have far more to gain by joining than skipping it.

yeah i would actually concider it but im not in the physical condition to actually survive alive lmao. my blood pressure really gets fucked up when doing really long high activity shit. I do skateboarding and snowboarding etc chill sports but something like running around in a forest wet af carrying 80kg on your back isnt rly something i would be able to do. like i would literally die from a heart attack

You’re not thrown in at the deep end, it will be a gradual build up, you’ll build up the fitness and strength. Don’t underestimate yourself. I guarantee you that you’ll come out of it no longer a boy - you’ll gain a lot of independence and learn how to stand on your own two feet.

Then apply for a university or so. That should be a valid reason to avoid service.

You can't avoid service if you get into an Uni, but you can use that as a reason to not stay for a year. 6 months and you can start Uni after getting out. You don't lose your seat or anything. But with these health problems, shouldn't have a problem at getting C-papers.

not really. i heard about 1/5 males nowdays get c papers. used to be a lot more strict. now its pretty much optional
2018-05-11 14:34
maybe look into that abit more... maybe the army training is a thing employers look for ? general society maybe view the training dodgers as weak etc ?

Finland Robbs3ncsgo
yeah some especially really physical work places will check that. but legally it shouldnt matter at all. and nowdays people are starting to care less and less since around 1/5 people dodge it. and only the "old school" employers even care for it
2018-05-11 18:22
ahh right... well oi i suggest you do look into the state of your health and look to increase it somehow in general and make sure you watch youtube.com/watch?v=pwaWilO_Pig&t=793s ( learn all about breaking research into sleep relating to over all health ) and youtube.com/watch?v=uxM_CLsvieE and youtube.com/watch?v=A9Mj0Q9y084&t=530s dont worry this isnt some crazy shit these are all about current health break throughs from the top of the field of research that needs to become general knowledge !

Well if you feel like you have too many health problems and you probably will get C-papers, then what are you concerned about? Also, IMO it's pretty unreasonable to get kicked out when your a student at your age, you'll move out once you get into Uni and you tell them that so should be pretty reasonable to let you live with them until you get into some facility.

Well if I was in your place, I would still go to military, just to see what it is like and if you're capable of doing it. After a while if you start getting those panic attacks, they will send you home. But at least you showed your father, that you tried your best.

Here military lasts 2 years. Point of military is also give you harder mental "side" in many different situations in life, not just in army. It helps you to grow up mentally and is sign that you're adult and you have your responsibilities.

Panical attacks is a illness, going to army won't solve that

Korea XigNw0w
I didn't they will be solved for certain, but there might be people who can help you and no I'm not saying that there isn't anyone outside of army who couldn't help you with those panic attacks, but I think there will be a lot of young men who suffer from panic attacks or are afraid of guns, gun sound or grenades and they "launch" the panic attack. I'm not sure how panic attacks work because I don't suffer from them, but I think they need something that "launches" them and makes them uncontrollable, I'm saying that if they can be treated with medication and you can get help from an army and they understand your condition fully, they will give you jobs that you can get through, even though you suffer from some kind of disease.

Finland Robbs3ncsgo
yeah im in the process of getting help for them atm and maybe getting medication for it (with that kinda prescription medications im pretty sure they dont let you go to military lol) but yeah mostly what would cause me unwanted situations is being in large crowds etc. and usually there is literally no privacy for the time you are there which usually helps for the panic attacks so dunno. gun sounds etc thats no problem lmao but without privacy for the whole time there being in huge crowds of people might become problematic
2018-05-11 17:48
#212
 |
Korea XigNw0w
Huh, I think in most militaries they would let you in with that prescription, but the privacy thing is a problem of course because you have your own company etc. Also, I think in some countries you can get the weekend free from the army I don't know how often, but some exchange students have told that sadly no one was from Finland. The army even takes criminals to serve in their armies, some of them can have serious criminal history and they take a note of it, but I'm not sure which countries take criminals in the army to serve their duty, but some do.

yeah but it depends what you get prescribed. at the worst case scenario its shit like xanor (version of xanax) etc which could end up fucking your life up if not careful. And i dont think they let people in the military be high on xanax tbh. too much risk

Yeah, well if it's strong medicine then it's totally different situation, I understand your medical and life situation as fully as I can, but I know that most militaries with compulsory military service have very far stretched rules and will take most of the people who suffer from some kind of disease but are fully capable to do something in there. I, for example, have asthma, also I suffer from sleeping problems and they said they will take a note of it when I go to do my compulsory military service.

Why does Finland even need am military? They would be taken over in a day by almost any country in the world. They will have no place in WW III accept to get boot stomped. I know why, same with all small countries. The military is not to fight other countries it's to suppress their own people if needed.

The purpose of the finnish army is not to win wars. Its purpose is to prevent wars, by making them so costly that they are not profitable for the enemy.

I finished my conscription or service elsewhere but this is from a good friend of mine having served a 12-month period ending up as corporal: -The physical burden is not overwhelming depending on your branch of service/company. It's how you adjust to the timetable. Mental clusterfuck is way more present. -You learn to cope in primeval conditions which is actually quite fun and draws you close with future teammates. -Army is special. There is nothing like army the moment you leave the place. In nutshell: Have a go at it. Those c-papers can be obtained later if you find your condition unbearable. Too many privates have taken the fastest way out and later regretted their choice.

If you do go to the military service and afterwards feel like it's not for you, you can always get out from there. Usually in the same day. The c-papers depend entirely on your mental and physical condition at the moment, but there's always civil service if you don't get the c-papers.

it's only 6-12 months, you're still young, you have a lot of time to do whatever you want in the future. I believe you'll improve yourself as a person after going through it.
2018-05-11 02:30
please stay away, you sound like an insufferable fuckface, the type that makes everyone around him miserable with his moaning. with that attitude you should move to swedistan and never come back. and don't forget to take your soylent with you, wouldn't want such a fine young man to starve on his way out.

Well, I don't wanna go because I don't want some old faggots to command me, I didn't come to this life to be bullied, to do what I don't wanna do... "You got one time to figure it out, One time to twist and one time to shout, One time to think and I'd say we start know, Because death inspires me like a dog inspires a rabbit." Live your life the way you want to, if the voice says deep inside you that you don't want to, find a way to avoid it..
2018-05-11 11:01
6-12 months? thats nothing, I had to do 3 years of mandatory service, and i signed for 2 more years.
2018-05-11 11:19
there is a diffrence , you CHOOSED it , at Finland and Greece you go anyway
2018-05-11 11:21
i said mandatory.
2018-05-11 11:24
You have mandatory army at Murica?? 1st time i hear that
2018-05-11 11:25

2018-05-11 11:27
jew or kebab?
2018-05-11 11:28
In Israel, I have** dual citizenship, therefore the flag. Nevertheless its a vital experience, toughens you up both mentally & physically.
2018-05-11 11:30
I agree , i finnished 1 year here , it was nice BUT we dont have wars and shit , you have some serious shit around you so i think at Israel army its a bit tougher than here.

generally it is, there are several units in every branch here in fland that are equal or more stressful source: have israeli half cousins what's funny is they're both supposed to be defense forces, yet IIRC i just read of israeli attacking iran in syria or smth.
2018-05-11 11:40
Go dude , its nice , i finnished 1 year here annd it was pretty nice. p.s I hate army, wars, guns etc etc

2018-05-11 11:34
Just go. I couldn't because my back is a bit fucky, and 50 times a year someone asks me where I served and it's slowly killing me. It's been almost a decade now.. In my lifetime I'll spend way more than 6 months explaining why I couldn't go.

I went through 6 months as B-grade cannon fodder. Looking back at it, it was pretty cool experience but of course there were some rough times during winter camps. If I was you, I would probably go for the B-grade and get the experience. Your fitness wont be a problem, we had many guys who had shitty fitness(fatness) and they survived and actually lost a lot of weight during the service.

There is no shame in getting the C-grade mate, if you cannot do sports etc then military service probably is not for you. Hopefully the kutsunta-doctor understands you, because I think A LOT of guys try all kinds of tactics to get C-grade from him/her..

dude chilll the fuck out, army is chill as fuck. you basically become friends with your group and then it sjust like buddies doing army shit, theres no high pressure shit to do or to panic on. most arent elite soldiers, just average ppl from all kinds of backgrounds just doing shit. and forest shit was pretty fun actually. i wish i got to do it more but life goes on and theres no time to be forest rambo anymore, you actually kinda start missing it. and lul stamina, not needed at all. youll get to that level in first 2 months and well if thats hard then its just good for you. when can you take 6 months to get your life back together? never. take a chance now and become better man

Well, personally I fought 3 years that I could get into army with the medical staff that did the evaluation. They forced the C papers due an injury I had to my arm when I was a child and asthma. I believe I would've enjoyed my time there, but it takes proper attitude to like that. I like camping, hunting, chilling in the forest without any electronics around me, but that's just me.

damn that sucks. but yeah the problem is ill probably get c papers even just by telling the truth at the health inspection. and if i decide i want to go ill have to lie which could be dangerous if i go unconcious and they know the reason why. because tbh i would want to go if i was in good healthy condition. heard its an amazing experience

just go with it, don't you want to overcome your health shortcomings? think about it... right now you're hopeless about your body... just imagine what going thru your national duties will do for your mental and physical fortitude. Do you really want to live afraid of physical challanges for the rest of your life? yeah it seems like an impossible task for you right now, but if you go and get out of it alive... you will have conquered your fears and self imposed limits.

well the problem is that im not "hopeless about my body" im in pretty decent physical condition otherwise (80kg/190cm) and can lift shit etc but long cardio is what actually kills me. after long runs etc ive actually fainted before due to high blood pressure. and thats something that cant really be fixed. I would like to go there if i was in full health since ive heard its an amazing experience, but the problem is getting a heart attack or some shit due to long high pressure training or some shit

well yeah tbh im not worried about it. im really inbetween if i should go or not. if i tell the truth at the health inspection they will most likely just send me home. if i decide i want to go ill have to not tell them about all that shit and if i end up fainting it could be dangerous if they dont know why the fuck it happened. because ive heard its an amazing experience. if only i was healthy af lmao
