How old is earth?

What do you think? Is it 4,6 billions years as science suggests or 6000 years as religions suggest?

Dinosaurs are 6000 years old at most. They were created at the dawn of time when god inseminated the holy giraffes, creating those monstrosities. The only reason its so hard to find dinosaur bones is that during the great flood in the Genesis, most of the dinosaurs fell of the side of our flat Earth and into space.

I think you have really vague understanding of word suggestion. It means putting something out there or implying or indicating something based on something else. Does not matter if it is fact or it is not, you can still suggest it
2018-05-25 15:46
yep that's why saying "we suggest that the Universe is 14 b yo" is false. because suggestion is an idea. fact =/= idea

no, you were wrong cause you got no clue about a thing you mentioned. if you knew anything how carbon dating works you would never say bs like in #16, and on top of that you wanted to bully people who belive in a "book from the bronze age" suggesting that you are superior to them, whilst you are as dumb as they are/dumber than they are.

They used Uranium-lead dating to estimate the earths age by measuring the radioactive decay of uranium into lead.
2018-05-25 15:25
The fun fact: the guy who invented this method thought that his housekeeper gives him yesterday food and made this test to know is it fresh or not
2018-05-25 17:58
What the fuck? Radiometric dating being used to check is housekeeper giving him yesterday food? With accuracy of those methods 1 day may be a measurement error. Also money and all the effort to check such simple thing? You could've bought 10 other housekeepers and 1000 hookers for it... Source or don't spread bs

arabia for example is becoming a land of gardens and rivers again as according to prophecy. also, theres plenty of oil in that very same desert - good deal. also, his followers dont just live in deserts. they also live in turkey, bosnia, india, china, russia, france, usa... his 1st follower, adam, had the whole earth. i dont think the whole earth was a desert
2018-05-26 00:15
the universe is 400 billion years old. earth probably way longer than what they tell you.
2018-05-25 15:10
Several billion years old, but man is only several hundred thousand old and I think that we were very advanced 15000-20000 years ago but some cataclysmic event cleared us out and sent us back to the Stone Age.

In huge brief Science uses uranium-lead dating. Half-life time of uranium is 4,5bilions years. This way they date the stable isotope of lead contained in minerals. which comes from the decay of a radioactive uranium isotope. Tbh it sounds fair and legit as long as half-life time of uranium is actually 4,5b years. Step by step, according to the science it seems to be true so the question is rhetorical. EDIT: I said "in huge brief" cause of lack of scientific nomenclature and lack of numerous examples. Get some books if you want to fully understand this.
2018-05-25 15:19
This is pretty much accurate. By measuring the amount of 206Pb and 207Pb isotopes (lead) found in zircon minerals (an extremely robust mineral, resistant to weathering and will stay intact in up to 900+ degrees celsius), comparing it to 238U and 235U isotopes (Uranium) respectively - and finally insert the data into a discordia diagram. The reason for this is that there is no natural lead in zircon minerals due to it not fitting within the lattice structure of the mineral. This way all lead found within the mineral must result from beta decay of Uranium isotopes. The half time for 238U and 235U isotopes are respectively 700 Ma and 4500 Ma. Best regards, geology student.
2018-05-26 19:12
Forgot to finish the second sentence, my apology: "By measuring the amount of 206Pb and 207Pb isotopes (lead, daughter isotopes) found in zircon minerals (an extremely robust mineral, resistant to weathering and will stay intact in up to 900+ degrees celsius), comparing it to 238U and 235U isotopes (uranium, mother isotopes) respectively - and finally insert the data into a discordia diagram to get the age of the mineral."
