970 is more powerfull 1050ti already has problems running games from 2018
2018-05-25 22:11
Exactly...when people will realize that i3's and nVIDIA XX50 series are not aging well?
2018-05-25 22:13
Yeah there is like no point in buying these lower end gpus, they last like 18 months at max and then they are shit.... worth it to spend extra and be happy for 2+ years

Can't agree more.

I agree...1070 is the minimum card I would buy...but that is just me. Not worth saving 100-200 when you are spending 400-600+ better just to wait to afford something worth buying
2018-05-26 01:23
Yepp I have that one, 1050ti as I wanted to try out a economic choice for once. Didn't work out and I've never had as many problems with my pc, especially games. I'll get a better and more powerful version next, the 1050ti isn't useless if you want to go for an economic choice, but if you want a trouble-free PC I would recommend investing a bit more cash.
2018-05-26 00:41
Yeah, I also have the 1050ti, Bought it like a year and a half ago because my amd gpu broke. Needed gpu asap and didnt have money for 1060/rx470 so I went with 1050ti. It wasn´t that bad up until this point but it just doesn´t cut it anymore since I also got a 144hz monitor 2 months ago. But I didn´t have any trouble with it to be fair.

Because x50 is a budget card. Videocards are not just for high end gaming and there are people that have other priorities over gaming to spend their money on.

1050 ti is a gaming card though, but mid range. If you ain't got gaming in mind you buy a lower end card or use the IGPU. However, it's a shite card.

970 is higher tier model than 1050. nVidia in nutshell: **higher number = higher tier

1050 is higher than 970. But what you tried to explain(I think) was that the higher the two end digits are in value, the more processing power it tends to possess.
2018-05-26 02:05
970 is high-end card, 1050 is budget. 1 generation is not that big of a gap

Series numbers: X10 - X40 = bad GPUs, but better than on-CPU graphics for awhile. Stopped at the 700 series because they realized there was no market for it anymore (other than the 1030 which just seems like sucker-bait). X50 = better than on-board graphics, but still bad. Low budget card, about as little of an increase in performance from on-board graphics as there is a market for. Definitely better than nothing... X60 = budget card, but decent, especially for the price. I had and used a 660 until a couple years ago, I could play most games with ease (if not just a little laggy). X70 = mid-tier, probably best price/performance. Will play all but the hardest-to-run games well. X80 = high-end. Not as friendly on the wallet as the X60 for X70, but it is powerful. Will run any game made within 2 years of it's release easily. Titans = enthusiast level. While this isn't true for all Titans, most can be seen as the X90 of each generation. Only for those who need the fastest card around. Unless you are rich or... an enthusiast, X80 or X80 Ti is a better choice. Ti = 10% - 25% increase in performance from the base card. Doesn't put the card above the next card in the series (so 1050 Ti > 1050, but 1060 > 1050 Ti). Generation differences: The current generation cards roughly equal the previous generations' cards, but if bumped up a series number (the gyazo link at the bottom will illustrate this). So if I have a 1060, it is essentially equal to the 970 in performance, or a 780. Not necessarily true for the Titans, they are kind of an anomaly. Usually later cards have newer technologies (like DX12) or are more energy efficient, so in that sense it is even better to go for them. gyazo.com/3e0d8218897b89e8087cbc592e545c.. I realized I didn't need to write all this... but I was already halfway through and having fun so fuck it.

Actually, AMD's vega 11 beats Nvidia GT 1030. Not all IGPU's are bad. Very nice post though. HLTV needs more people like you :)

Yeah, that's why I called the 1030 sucker-bait (and I said the bad GPUs were better "for awhile") . Only those who THINK they need one will get one, when it is basically useless (unless you have a very old CPU, which all jokes aside is probably who it is marketed to [I guess?]).

My 970 can't hold 300+ in 1080p lower settings. Textures high and MSAA 2x because otherwise I can't see shit. Lowering res makes it extremely worse considering my eyesight. I spray for a reason :D

Your gpu memory allocation reaches the fucked last half gigabyte while streaming or using youtube simultaneously with CS and your frame rate drops off a 100m cliff

You're clearly misinformed. The scenario you painted won't ever happen. But, people actually don't realize GTX 970 isn't enough for 200+ FPS 5v5 on medium/high settings for CS:GO and it barely handles 60 FPS on witcher 3 with 1440p using tweaked settings. Med/high.
2018-05-26 05:44
