i'd get gtx 1060 6gb + you save about £20 and get like Phanteks ECLIPSE P400S TEMPERED GLASS or without(S).. both are below £100 cases.. you save £10-30
2018-05-26 21:39
The 1060 is a rebrand of a 960 with a little more power saving, I already have the 970 - no need to spend money on it.
2018-05-27 04:58
1060 6gb = 980 "rebranded 960" lmao...
2018-05-27 06:47
1050ti 4gb = 960 1060 3gb = 970 1060 6gb = 980 1070 = 980ti
2018-05-27 06:48
Close enough. AMD parts always age well, can't say the same for nvidia.
2018-05-27 06:49
gtx 980 is 86% faster than a 960

intel is full of security holes and will remain so for a couple years. I have 1700x build no issues whatsoever, dont play much on it, but get ez 300+ fps with a GTX 1060 3GB, res: 1600x1200, 4:3 BB 2700x should get you to 400 fps in csgo
2018-05-27 05:17
dude, get an i5 8600k or i7 8xxx u will get 600 frames with anything that is a 1070 or equivalent ur wasting ur money on an APU, DONT GET APU'S

Well, get a 1070 or you build that pc and wait for gtx 11xx series, that pc is decent but i dont like radeon gpu because of power to performance ratio is really bad but price to performance is not bad

Oh yeah, the case is overpeiced, get an nzxt 300 case or cooler master series
2018-05-27 05:46
+1.. 119.5 pounds for a case is a bit too much hahahaha
2018-05-27 06:06
I got 3 PC's with the same case, Kinda in love with it..

Maybe u should upgrade, not build a new one

I would change the SSD.. So basic for such a powerful PC. Take a M2 SSD with 120gb just for the OS and 240gb with a Samsung SSD (the best on the market). And also.. RAM speed is very important with ryzen.. Take a 3000 mhz RAM at least.

Thank you, very valid!

youtube.com/watch?v=-CnRsZbZlOY 2700x is double the price... ROFL the money you save on the cpu you could put towards at least a gaming 3 board, 3200mhz ram and an m.2
2018-05-27 06:21
Yeah but on 4k resolutions 2700x smashes 8400.. And while streaming. (maybe in 4k as well). But look the other benchmarkings.. not only gaming.. the 2700x has twice the performance in some tests.

you talking about x264 transcoding and zipping the irrelevant tests? ALL the gaming tests the i5 8400 beat it, if you want to spend double the money on something that wont perform as well on GAMES then go ahead... we use our cpus for 99% gaming and 1% other stuff, it will still do that 1% other stuff just fine
2018-05-27 06:24
The performance on all other things but gaming.. It's like to be twice as fast on the 2700x.. And 4k resolutions gaming, the 2700x is faster than the 8400. Playing in 1080p the 8400 is just slightly faster.. BTW, 8400 runs Battleifled 1 1080p with 100% CPU usage.. 2700x with 30% CPU usage.

all those gaming tests were in 1080p, the 8400 beat it in all of them @ 1080p games that we actually play in 4K are so niche and only low gamers would play in 4k for the novelty of it
2018-05-27 06:26
Yeah but still just a small advantage for the 8400.. And it runs almost with 100% CPU USAGE with means no streaming, no other things but gaming.. Cause out of the game, the 2700x is twice as fast.. So you can't say is better just because of the gaming performance.. The price/performance overall is much better in favour of the RYZEN.

I'm not only going to use it for gaming, my wife is an interior designer a lot of rendering - the PC is practically for her.

you should tell everybody in the initial post what the pc is for before asking for recommendations
2018-05-27 06:28
I've already mentioned that I won't entertain an Intel part, why mention it?

well its weird because 2700x was more geared to compete with intels gaming cpus as an attempted budget cpu amd's lower end threadripper cpus have 40mb cache compared to 2700x's 20mb which is better for rendering
2018-05-27 06:41
gtx 1060>rx 580. 8700>2700x.
