120HZ in 2018
Poland notevenclose
Is it still making the difference between 60HZ, and is it much behind 144hz? (I know there's 240hz too, but for now maybe 2% of the players use it). I might buy 120hz really cheap

Upgraded from 2233rz last December to C27FGwhateversomelongsamsungname (144Hz), it's not that big of a difference, but you definitely notice it. If it's only 40 Euro, just do it

For such a price of course it's worth, it's so much better than 60Hz, image will be a lot smoother

Just get it, 40 eur is a bargain. 144hz XL2411 monitors go here used between 150 and 170 euro's.
2018-06-13 16:39
Yeah, i think i will. But i just noticed that it only has DVI port, does the adapter DVI to HDMI (the only free port i currently have) actually exist and won't affect anything?

That's possible, only you most likely can't run 120hz over that connection. You need DVI to make use of the 120HZ.
2018-06-13 16:51
Well, not worth buying then, a little bit frustrating as i was writing the message to the seller. Thx

that monitor has a 16:10 aspect ratio so you'll have black bars at top and bottom if you want to watch movies or series just sayin talking about the samsung
2018-06-13 16:55
Nope, i have something other to watch movies and series, so no problemo. But as i does not a have a HDMI port, i won't buy it.

why'd you need an hdmi port? you'll only get 120hz with dvi anyway
2018-06-13 16:58
I don't need a HDMI port, but i don't have DVI, that's the problem

should be able to get 120hz with hdmi, unless its old af
2018-06-13 18:01
The old 120hz monitors came out before HDMI ports were properly supporting 120hz, their bandwidth couldn't really handle it. Even if you have HDMI outputs that can do it now, the monitor's input isn't built to support it.

thats why i wrote "unless its old af" but probs could do 100hz properly
2018-06-13 18:36
Nah, the original 120hz displays were either straight up 60 or 120, and that was entirely predicated on the input.

120hz could work on hdmi>dvi-d adapter but i doubt it
2018-06-13 18:41
Yeah, I'm not actually sure if that would work or not, never thought about it actually. I suppose it's possible.

are you for real? My new monitor was 120 euros and still 60hz only....
2018-06-13 18:09
no diff between 120 and 144 at least hard to detect (even for pros) but if prize is better for 144Hz (yes it is) so you know

Would save a little more for 144hz if you have 144+ fps
2018-06-13 16:32
depending on the map, sometimes i have 250, in 3 seconds 110, then again 180 :P
2018-06-13 16:33
no difference between 120 hz and 144hz feels no difference however difference is massive compared to 60

Much better than 60. If you have money for 144 go for it
2018-06-13 16:32
i absolutely don't want to spend momey on 144hz, as i play cs much less than before, i just want one used monitor 120/144hz to feel the difference

I've used both. Sure not the same difference from 60 to 120, but it's still slightly better. I think the money is worth it nowadays, not a huge difference
2018-06-13 16:36
Buying my 144hz monitor was by far the best investment ever.
2018-06-13 16:33
+1 my second monitor has 60hz and its totally shit :D

120 and 144hz feel the same, 240 hz on the other hand feels much better
2018-06-13 16:33
144hz is good, realy good, but if you cant get 144+fps in other games than cs it is not the best investment probably.
2018-06-13 16:35
ban this guy
2018-06-13 16:39
? wut why
2018-06-13 16:44
ever heard about g-sync?
2018-06-13 17:59
That only prevents screan tearing... doesnt fix the fact that u aren´t running at 144fps. 80-90 fps with gsync/freesync still isn´t 144fps... and it adds delay.
2018-06-13 18:01
ok, u should be banned.
2018-06-13 18:08
What ever...
2018-06-13 18:48
kennys still playing at 120 Hertz
2018-06-13 16:36
what do you mean does it "still" make a difference in 2018, why would the difference change :D
2018-06-13 16:40
:D
2018-06-13 17:01
> Is it still making the difference between 60HZ Yes, it does. > and is it much behind 144hz? Not much. I still have 120 hz monitor (bought it in 2010 or 2011).
2018-06-13 16:59
from 60 --> 120 is definitely big difference, it is doubling previous one still even if slightly worse than 144, surely CS for instance looks much more smooth.

It's nicer, I'd go for it. I have an 165hz panel. Worth the investment.
2018-06-13 17:08
dont buy 120 just stay with your 75 till you go 1ms monitor 144hz
2018-06-13 18:42
Is it still making the difference between 60HZ, and is it much behind 144hz? wtf is that question? what changed? why wouldn't 120hz be better than 60 hz just because 240 is out but there's no reason to buy 120 since 144 is almost the same price, better, the monitors are better quality.
