WHY VAR in WC???
 |
Brazil leo1mibr
why would they put the VAR system in the world cup if they will not use it in the games?

"video assistant referee" is used to assist refs, but when refs do not use because of pride they are sticking up above the law and this is not good for all teams

the VAR team can tell the main referee that something is worth to be seen on screen when the referee doesn't ask for it (like they did in France VS australia)

a little push is a foul if you don't know, is not allowed by rule
2018-06-17 22:45
Lol its not a push like Iceland did against Argentina. You're saying its a foul cause you're Brazilian, if it happens the other way around you wouldn't say anything. Should ask Miranda to go to the gym tho.

dude, stfu. pushs are not allowed.

LUL football is a contact sport, if you can't handle a little push like that then you shouldn't even be on the pitch.

HAHAHAHA
2018-06-17 22:58
The brazzilian is right. If you push someone in their back is foul. It´s a contact sport but it has rules, and that´s a rule. That´s why, for example, in a goal kick, if you put your hands in your opponents back when you are jumping to win the ball and he falls is foul. In that case was the same thing. The swiss push miranda in his back to get space to can score the 1-1, thats ilegal. Btw, Brazil did´nt play sh*** so the result is fair
2018-06-18 13:47
OK so penalty in every corner :D Dude just fuck off.

#84 pushing is different from contact, look at how much space he got when Miranda was pushed, I wont say it wouldnt be a goal but would definitely be harder for him to score. In a corner there's a lot of contact, but if someone is actually pushed in the back it is a foul. I guess you don't watch enough football to know that.

Pushed Miranda away with both hands the moment he wanted to jump to create space for himself. That was without a doubt a foul. It doesn't matter how hard he pushed.

More than half of the brazilian team was telling the ref to look at the big screen, and he didn't even want to listen. Hopefully that was his last match in this WC.

"Fouls and unsportsmanlike conduct: the referee is granted a direct free kick for the player who commits fouls in a reckless or violent manner. Grab an opponent, kick him, push him, touch the ball with his hands, among others. In the event of a recurring sports foul or incitement to violence to the opponent, the player may be warned with a yellow card. Red card fouls are the violent conduct of the player, prevent a goal by the hand if you are not the goalkeeper, employ offensive language and receive the second warning card at the match."

VAR is used constantly, they will notify the referee if it needs to be reviewed. The referee has the final say.

Actually watching this video only confirms what falsol already said. VAR is used constantly and they notify the referee if something needs to be reviewed. The referee has the final say.

VAR is a help for referee not instant replay for players/teams... its not for challange his decision but to make sure he did the right one or not... sometimes used when he miss something but im pretty sure in this case he got info from line-referee. I watched whole game and there was no foul on Miranda, if you dont agree my advice for you is to watch some Premier League matches :)

How can you say there's no foul on Miranda? Miranda is literally pushed away from the challenge, making him unable to challenge Zuber in the air. Zuber is using two arms in the back of Miranda to create space for himself to score? Yeah mate, that's a foul. If it's not called in Premier League, then it's also wrong in Premier League. That is literally a foul.

Premier is the only league that break the rules, in Spain, France, Brazil, Argentina, Italy they follow the rules and in those leagues is a fucking foul

The problem with VAR is, it's completely up to the individual referee if he wants to use VAR technology or not. Which means, even if the four referees behind the screens all say "penalty", the referee on the field has the full right to say "N O P E" and not give a penalty. Basically VAR is having 4 people telling you, that you're doing your work wrong. I've heard a lot of commentators say, that they've talked to referees who would rather make their own decision in the moment, rather than listen to others. So if they're opposing VAR technology, then they're in the right if they don't follow the help it provides. Personally I think there's been a lot of miss-calls even with VAR (The Griezmann penalty, it looks to me like he knows that there's contact, and he then decides to throw himself rather than go for the actual chance infront of goal etc.), so it feels redundant even using it. And if it's up to the individual referee to not use it in certain situations, where you know they've made misscalls (The goal against Brazil today & the penalty not given), then you might as well just not use it all together.

Miranda said this in an interview at the end of the game, he felt the contact and the push and he could have thrown himself so that the fault really was evident but he relied on the refes and the VAR.

Miranda was 100% fouled. His chance of jumping to challenge Zuber in the air was completely taken away by Zuber pushing him with two arms in the back. That is a foul, there's no denying that.

Which is exactly my point in my own post as well. There's no reason to use VAR if VAR can't actually enforce a referee decision.

mb they didnt use it because they saw the whole thing very clearly and so could take decision, ever thought about it? VAR is supposed to help when ref hesitates cuz he didnt/couldnt clearly see what happened.

In the end it's all good! VAR just makes the game better and helps the real football magicians to not get unfairly destroyed by huge centerbacks.
