I'd rather spend my 20 minutes on this instead of wastin' 1 minute on your shit: youtube.com/watch?v=m1qhLKHtUQ8

Oh, I couldn't watch more than 5 of their videos, their tutorials suck one big dick! They do everything the same (well, the trap genre isn't very diverse anyway), they all sound so boring and in general hip-hop tutorials are useless cuz hip-hop is easy as hell.

then it's better to do shitty EDM or smth, huh?
2018-06-18 18:46
No, most EDM is so boring. I don't say hip-hop is boring or bad, it's really easy, you can't deny it. Put 4 notes in 4/4 time signature, make 1 beat with a snare, hat, o.hat and a kick, copy the bass from the melody and transpose 1/2 octaves, play some different melody consisting of 5 maximum notes over the other and don't make variations. That's what many people do so it's just conventional not like a rule. I don't like those "trap Broducers" because 99% of them are lazy fucktards. Most EDM "producers" are lazy as hell as well. MUSIC DOESN'T HAVE TO BE HARD!

the easiest thing in the beat for me, it is makin' drums, but it's not like a straight barrel/hats/clap, cause it's a really poor drum pattern, I think it's better to make some changes arrangement isn't hard as fuck, but it takes too many time for me, cause I don't want to make looped shit like this: youtube.com/watch?v=E8OAFklt6cA I guess, it took only 5 minutes for Pierre, even Carti did more work, the whole beat is like ctrl+c x ctrl+v and the hardest thing it is makin' melodies, I mean findin' 'em, cause if you don't have a good melody - you don't have a good beat, it's better to spend more time than ever and find a really nice melody and yeah, you're right, the music doesn't have to be hard, but it also doesn't have to sound like dog shit with a borin' straight barrel and the beat you're talkin' 'bout you can do for like 5 minutes

jkornfeld.net/motive_development_1.pdf jkornfeld.net/motive_development_2.pdf daveconservatoire.org/ I can provide more links if interested in theory. Learn about motives and how to develope them. Theory is knowledge is pretty important and the most valuable skill is to learn theory but almost never use it (I just can't explain that, it more for analyzing then composing), it is like you use it but you don't, feel it. The lack of desire to develope new skills or improve your craft is what makes those beatmakers lazy and unlistenable. Everything changed when I got my MIDI (61 keys), when you get it, there's no way you won't want to use it to the fullest which, in my situation, led me to learning theory more in-depth and then apply the knowledge anywhere. Learning to improvise is pretty valuable skill as well, it really trains your ear which results in writing better music. E: I would recommend you to learn to play some instrument (keys are an excellent example), if you want to be involved in the music industry as a composer/writer/producer call it how you want.

yeah, give me some links, I want to learn more about it I'm really lazy, doin' like 2 beats in the week, but I think that it is way better than doin' some beats everyday which will sound very similar inspiration is the main key to the victory, I think it's better to relax and listen to music that you like and then make a pretty good beat maybe it's a fuckin' perfectionism, but the result of quick work hardly makes me happy and I have 2 questions: - which daw are you usin'? - how long have you been workin' with the music? I'm just curious

1. I'm using FL studio 2. More than a year but got more serious the last 6-7 months. piano-keyboard-guide.com/piano-chords.ht.. secretsofsongwriting.com/2014/03/13/step.. simplifyingtheory.com/parallel-key/ simplifyingtheory.com/borrowed-chords/ simplifyingtheory.com/how-to-modulate/ simplifyingtheory.com/tritone/ music.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-writ.. music.tutsplus.com/tutorials/an-introduc.. music.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-writ.. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Counterpoint#Gener.. Don't rely on inspiration, one of the best books, compositions, paints etc were created by practising every day. I remember Bukowski saying something like:"I'll write 100 poems and 1 should be good". Parkinson's law. You don't have to work 8 hours a day. I always write at night for like 3-5 hours, I can't focus during the day which probably explains my boredom during school. If you don't feel like writing -- write. It's pretty hard and everyone struggles with this problem.
