Hello dear HLTV users, since the beginning of the World Cup we can see many braindead people who say football is shit.
Weirdly those guys also often say hockey is real sport.
So lets show they are absolutetly wrong.
Football is by far, the most played sport in the world. Also most watched and most loved.
To play football is possible no matter how you rich or poor, 2 tees to make the goal, a ball and some friends and the game can start.
Football is one of these few sport that can be play everywhere : city, beach or grass.
The most technical sport, dribbling with your feet at high speed is very hard and even pros are not all able to do. Dribbling with hands = ok for a normal human being .
The only sports i consider almost equal are Rugby, mostly for the easy access to everybody, and bedroom sport even if we could say its not as easy for an ugly guy as it is for a goodlpoking man.
Last point, even people who arent really interested in it watch the world cup. Sorry for hockeyers but people who arent interested in it like me, never watch the hockey WC. (Hockey is an example, you can fill with most sports)
Have a nice football day.
It is the most played because it is the most simple to setup. Finished school? just drop 4 bags and you're good for a match. At the beach? bottle of water in sand.
While rugby needs a real stadium, basketball needs hoop, volley a net ...
Actually I have descended from a family line of entrepenuers. My parents currently own the multi-million dollar company and once I finish college I will be secured a 6 figure salary and once i'm older I will have full control of the company.
I will accomplish more than any average American.
Also you're going to refer to all Americans as dumb but when we mention our accomplishments you say that only certain Americans did it. I dont understand.
I would never call all Americans stupid (or any other nationality as well). I think that Americans are really nice and humble people but it pisses me off when some Americans brag about how they literally made most of the technology currently used.
Yes, NA based companies have done that but these companies have people from all around the world that are working there because America is a land of opportunity for many educated foreigners.
Understandable. I only mentioned our technological advances because he tried to call Americans dumb. It pisses me off when people stereotype Americans as obese and dumb when I personally avoid interaction with anyone IRL that can't even hold an intelligent conversation with me.
I seperate myself from Americans that don't think and yet i'm still grouped with them so you can imagine how frustrating it is sometimes
you got baited for so little shit talk, i know american aren't all dumb, i've had the pleasure to meet some of you and they were very friendly and loyal.
BUT WHY CALLING FOOTBALL A SPORT YOU MAINLY PLAY WITH YOUR HANDS ???
I don't know how it is in your countries, but in some countries at least the hockey league is so redundant. Teams play tons of matches only to determine who from 8 out of 10 teams is going to play against each other in the playoffs. Someone ranked 8th after those tons of matches is still able to win the league... I would feel pretty stupid to watch any of those placement matches.
Football is as nice to watch as ice hockey to me as long is the game is not Iceland versus Greece. Football is not very fun to play in a big field and 11vs 11 setting since 95% of your time you will be standing / walking / running around without ball. I prefer ice hockey or floorball way more since you get to be in on all the action. Futsal is way more fun to play as well.
5v5 is the best to have fun, i play it often and its way more physical than 11v11. But when tou play at good level 11v11 is all about positioning and reading the game, so even when you walk you can be tactically helpfull.
football is a great game, competitive football is shit, a lot of actors and pussies, full of ladyboys who fking cry after every takle. i've played since i was 6 till i was 17 and quit because i was fucking sick of all the clown fiesta it was going on.
and You know something about Comedia del Arte in Italia so we can believe you. I understand, i like then it goes really physical, best football was end of 90' but there was way more big injuries for forwards (Ronaldo9 for exemple)
football at a high level is a boring as fuck sport where 20 guys run around for 90 minutes and play the ball backward and forward and backward and forward again until randomly by sheer chance one team is out of position and then a guy runs forward and gets the ball but he ran forward 30cm too much so his goal doesnt count.
hockey is the same shit but without the offside rule and with sticks and 1000% more chance of permanent head injury.
i prefer cs
yeah we have some nice games where things work out but not enough
i remember 2004 NL - PT
I remember 2006, our chance at revenge, when some people decided the only way to beat PT was to literally beat them.
"Russian referee Valentin Ivanov handing out 16 yellow and 4 red cards in the round of 16 match between Portugal and the Netherlands, in a match known as the Battle of Nuremberg."
i dont remember much after that, which says enough, because i did watch some games every EC and WC
looking at stats it seems our 'sleeping giants' Robben and Van Persie showed up in that game vs Spain that you mentioned. after that we beat mexico and then lost to argentine. i guess that was alright. it just wasnt memorable. no one believed we would win and those players were getting old.
I don't want to play in a team but kicking a ball around that I used when playing soccer (Because that is what the league was called or something) is fun and I try to dribble and shoot at a thing in my yard. Maybe I will play a casual league or something but we will see
Ill agree with everything you said except the fact that football is the most technical sport. All sports are difficult and require different skillsets and are extremely hard to master. "Dribbling with your hands" might be easier than dribbling with your feet, but basketball also requires shooting which can be argued to require more technical skill than scoring in soccer.
Im not saying football is not a super technical sport. Im just trying to say all sports especially on the pro level require extreme amounts of skill and its not really fair to just say football is the more technical and superior to all other sports. It certainly is the most accessible sport, but all sports require alot of skill to play. Saying 1 sport is just objectively better than all others in every aspect is just closed minded and disrespectful.
I didnt say it's better in every aspect, i was talking about dribbling ! Dribbling with your hands is way easier than with your feet, im not talking about pro level but for everybody ! Why are you bringing the pro level ?
You referenced how pros also arent perfect in dribbling so I included the professional scene in my argument? "Dribbling" in hockey is also super difficult because you have to move at high speeds moving a puck with a stick on skates. Im just trying to explain that all sports require a degree of skill and you shouldn't call football the most technical sport.
You rebuy the game each years, some people invest +500$ to make a good team and the following year, it's fucked LMAO !
If they do 1 game with update each years for the transfers, etc. then maybe it could become a top3-5 game i think.
absolutely. the game itself is garbage but its the only one we got. its different from fps tho, it has like 5 top tier fps games and even other, football games, either u go for fifa, or pes, but no one plays pes
random number generation, there's a lot of variables in fifa that come down to chance - like, each player's skill level number on certain aspects (shooting, dribbling) affects whether his shot at goal will be perfect, or if the goalkeeper's gonna make a save, if someone's gonna get a proper header etc. Too much random aspects don't enable a videogame to be properly competitive
most played because it is the easiest sport to play, especially in poor places. Its not the easy to casually play hockey, but all u need to play soccer is 4 poles in the middle of a field. If it was easier to play basketball and hockey, they would be way more popular
+1 tennis is a very complete sport to play. but how the fuck can people watch it ?! i've been in Bercy's Open, watched Marat Safin vs Grosjean and 30 min after the start i was sleeping even with the crowd noise !
