Installing on Ssd can help with loading times and so on. First make sure you are playing with cable (psu) not with battery. Also go to power settings and set it from balanced to performance. What settings do you play with? 100 fps is too low.

Better dont buy gaming laptop, if you are going to waste time on games you are gonna be kicked from uni.

2018-07-05 10:09
oh thats what u mean. thought u had no money for pc because ure paying off college. still seems weird to get such low fps with a "gaming latop". windows10? have you tried turning off "GameDVR"? that always gives you a slight boost. set priority in task manager to high. or put "-high" in starting options to have it start up with high priority.

I have a laptop with worse worse specs (hp omen series but a few years old with 965M graphics card and 16gb ram) I had a lot of similar problems to start, check that in the nvidia control panel the global settings are for the high performance card (right click anywhere on the main background screen to access it if its not an obviously accessible program) Then follow the advise from here: reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/6p.. Also make sure all your other programs close and the fan is working properly (my fan broke at one point, had 25 fps, got it replaced under extended warranty, now stable 160-220 on MM) edit: I also play on 1600:900 and not all low so clearly you should get more if you arent limited by the 8gb ram
2018-07-05 10:34
no its not. On my laptop(i5-6300HQ, 8Gigs ram, gtx 950) Ive got 140 - 250 FPS(depends on map)
2018-07-05 10:02
Btw all LOW settings and FHD resolution
2018-07-05 10:04
I got almost the same setup, except i get 170+
2018-07-05 10:18
Really never drop under 170? With smokes and many enemies on screen on new maps?
2018-07-05 10:26
Yea but im playing on lower res. Maybe your CPU or GPU have cooling issues.
2018-07-05 13:36
dunno its a crap Lenovo 700-15 ISK
2018-07-05 13:37
Yeah but its kinda ok for CS. I have a HP 15 bc004ng, almost the same specs as yours. Its my laptop for university and it does ok, especially for the price. Still miss my desktop beast with 4690k on 4,6 GHz :D
2018-07-05 13:59
You have : NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 950M (2 GB GDDR5 dedicated) Mine : 2GB DDR3! Maybe thats why
2018-07-05 14:04
Anyway I had no time playing game on uni. Now im working. I spend 8 hours looking on monitor every day so I dont want to play games.
2018-07-05 14:05
Yea, time is tough, but every few weeks i find some time to play 1-2 faceit matches :D

It's not normal 1) Check drivers for update 2) Set default GPU to Nvidia in the Nvidia control panel 3) change plugged in to performance from balanced ( make sure you always play on plugged-in since you should never game on battery) 4) Turn of laptop power saving mode in CSGO game settings
2018-07-05 10:02

What? I have the same rig except for ram which is 16GB and I get around 230+ fps. I have all settings on medium. You need to change some settings - follow these below guides: youtube.com/watch?v=9eUdp2x4YhM steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetai.. Also, keep your Intel graphics display scaling as full rather than "maintain aspect ratio" (not fps related but feels good). Let me know if this helped.

Do you play it on GPU? I have laptop too, switched from i7 to GPU and got like 2x more FPS. Just open NVIDIA control panel and u set there some graphical settings, like turn off Vertical Sync etc.

It looks like CS is using your integrated Intel HD 630 instead of GeForce. Force CS:GO to use GeForce. Disable intel HD 630 in device menager. Change windows power plan to "high performance" Also its prooven at YT that installing CS on SSD will give you about 2-5 FPS.
2018-07-05 10:13
It is not normal. I had similar problems with my PC back in the day. I tried everything and it didn't work except reinstalling everything and with that wiping out completely the hard drive with it. After that the FPS got increased by like 100-200 fps. Not joking btw.
2018-07-05 10:13
I have an asus laptop with I5 4200U with gtx 720m and i get between 80-100 fps on most maps, but around 65-70 on new maps like nuke remake. Cs go is a cpu intensive game, gpu doesn't matter much.

I was playing on laptop my entire life, 15.6 monitor, some i7 with 3.4 GHz, 6 GB Ram and ATI HD 6770, very bad keyboard, FPS 60-130... Supreme Rank. I bought decent PC last year with 75Hz monitor and I'm global now ( the equipment doesnt matter )
2018-07-05 10:21
I became global with a laptop so it's not a big deal. Of course if you want to become a pro, then it will be different

Check for background processes, disable those XBOX VR or I dont know what was called on Windows 10. With the laptop I described I was struggling with 40-60 FPS for some while, then I cleaned the heat pipe, applied some new thermal paste on the processor, and I was playing with the settings low-medium and I managed to boost up to 80-130-140-150 FPS

2018-07-05 10:29
You have to check that is csgo even using 1050 or intel hd graphics
2018-07-05 10:37
check if it s running on the integrated card.
2018-07-05 11:08
I have laptop with i7-7700 and radeon rx 560 and csgo always over 200fps, but still this fucking 15 inch screen with only 60Hz is total garbage since I used to have 180Hz 24" gaming monitor -.-
2018-07-05 11:30
i have almost the same intel core i7 7700 HQ Nvdia gtx 1060 3gb 8gb of ram i have around 200 fps (shaders on high, otherwise low in general + shadows medium+ some antialiasing) i play 1280x720 install it on ssd, it will help
2018-07-05 11:50
wtf I have 250-350 with the same settings but with gtx 1060 can't believe the difference between these gpus is so huge

You need to play with the laptop PLUGGED IN otherwise you’ll be throttled. Also, you may as well unpark your CPU cores. Install everything on your SSD, use your HD for storage. Frequent use of your SSD will not degrade it. My laptop is i7 7700, 1070, 16GB DDR4, SSD which gets 300 fps on max settings

Do you have Windows 10? If yes go to your Windows 10 Settings -> Games and turn of Game bar filestore.community.support.microsoft.co.. Go to your Steam folder Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive and right click on csgo.exe and go to properties -> Compatibility and click on disable fullscreen optimization i.imgur.com/sLn2FZH.png Maybe that helps. And it doesn't matter if you have it installed on a HDD or SSD. The only difference is the loading times. And turn off vsync in your nvidia settings
