What headset to buy
Slovakia skalickyjoey
My hyperx cloud 2 broke like 2nd time already so i need a new headset. I'm currently thinking about sennheiser gsp 300 or Koss GMR-545-AIR. Was also thinking about hyperx revolver but damn I really hate those hyperx wires, its twisting way too much and I'm pretty sure its one of the reason why the sound broke. Also heard that gaming headset are just overpriced in general, so I'm also wondering about some headphones + mic combo. Price range is ideally under 100$

dont buy hyper stinger it is cheap but the mic is shit

Even ath m20x lol. Dont buy gaming headphones
2018-07-17 17:57
Really curious if the gaming headphones are so shit, do u think that normal 50$ headphones are equal or even better than some 100$ gaming headset ?
2018-07-17 17:58
Also dont want to spend 50$ for a mic, All i need is for people to hear me clearly and for mic to not buzz or do some weird noise

Depends what brand. But its much better to invest into proper headphones and buy a mod mic to use them as a gaming pair. U can always take them outside and not look like a kokot around ur town, unlike the gaming headphones. I heared that corsair headphones are quite good, but i want a great audio quality when I listen to music.
2018-07-17 18:01
That's why i was thinnking about those gsp 300, sennheiser usually have really good sound so i hope their gaming headphones are the same

NO. NEVER. NEVER BUY RAZER HEADSETS thanks I'm not Razer hater or anything, I actually like the company, but their headsets are utter trash. I regret about my Krakens since first weeks I got them.
2018-07-17 22:26
Damn really, mine work fine on my end
2018-07-19 03:35
It's not like they work bad. It's just sound quality is utter shit compared to other same price-rangers.
2018-07-19 17:22
Logitech g430 my friend Cheap, but high quality
2018-07-17 18:37
How is the audio ? I heard that logitech gaming headsets dont have good sound for music
2018-07-17 18:42
The audio is as good as you need it to be. Has great surround sound and it works for me pretty well. The only problem I can think of is that the noise can be heard easily even if you don’t have the headset on.
2018-07-17 18:45
they're not durable, the whole build is made from meh plastic, wouldn't recommend in 2018 maybe few years ago i would
2018-07-17 22:20
Been using it since like 2013, maybe I should move on. But it’s been lasting since then...
2018-07-17 23:21
the plastic around the point where the earcups twist broke for me and there's sth with the cable around the point of the little controller so that the whole headset just doesn't work anymore
2018-07-18 11:30
Oh, sorry to hear. I was thinking of getting new headphones, but I need cheap ones (under 150) any recommendations?
2018-07-18 11:47
idk but i've heard that u can't go wrong with a hyperx cloud 2/alpha or a sennheiser game one if u can find it for under 150

DONT LISTEN TO HLTV Only buy quality brands like audio technica or sennheiser. Spare yourself those cheap "gaming" headsets and treat your ears.
2018-07-17 18:43
Thinking about sennheiser hd 559, but i would have to buy some clip mic then, or i can just buy those gsp 300 and I'll sacrifice a little bit of the audio quality
2018-07-17 18:53
Guy literally wants a headset for gaming, not one for audio editing or anything like that. Paying $300 for a headset just to play CS is a waste of money.
2018-07-17 23:30
ALO GUYS, more suggestions please, im desperate
2018-07-17 20:19
Im picking up an Astro A40 with a mix amp, 179.99 on sale. I will let you know what I think. Im getting rid of my cloud 2's.
2018-07-17 21:47
Can't find any of those in my country currently, sold out mostly but its out of my budget anyway. Honestly will probably buy some non gaming sennheiser with a clip mic but modmic is too expensive for just talking to my friends on teamspeak but other clip mics i found so far suck. Don't want regular mic cause of space on my desk, so I have no idea what to buy now :D
2018-07-17 22:13
If you can find one, the steel series 5h v2 is excellent. It is honestly the best headset ive ever owned. I recommend the auxiliary over the usb. You can find them online for 50-99.00 when you can find them. I can guarantee it is worth the money

One of my options, read some good reviews about them

I think they are in your budget but I don't know the exchange rate but in the UK they were £80. All my friends have hyperx's and they are always complain about their headphones whereas me and one other person on our discord have the g433's Nevers say anything about them. They are well worth the money they have a great mic, great surround sound and even have good music quality of u r listening to music(sometime I do while warming up) and the Logitech software app that u downloay has a care nice interface and easy to change where u want the surround sound to come from.
2018-07-18 09:59
Gaming headsets in general are just marketing BS, they all sound like garbage, pick up some decent Sennheiser's or Audio-Technica's and a USB condenser mic. I have HD380 Pros and an ATR-2500.
2018-07-17 22:35
Yeah, but good mics are usually expensive and I don't want to waste money for talking on teamspeak and ingame only.
2018-07-17 22:39
And the cheap ones are usually terrible
2018-07-17 22:39
You can always buy good headphones and then a shitty headset just to wear around your neck for the mic. I had a buddy who did that for a while xD
2018-07-17 22:44
I had to do that when my sound stopped working and i had no mic, uncomfortable as fuck :D
2018-07-17 22:47
Yeah it's not fun lol
2018-07-17 22:49
AKG K240+ Fiio K1 DAC/AMP+ cheap lapel microphone (You'il get the best quality sound with this setup the AKG has a lot of soundstage and it's perfect for FPS games like CSGO except you live in a loud place cause this Headphone is semi-open if you live in a loud place search for closed quality sound Headphones)
2018-07-17 22:45
I have the DAC from cloud 2 and its about the same price as the fiio k1 (probably worse quality tho), do u think it would improve my sound if i bought some headphones with jack and plugged it into it ?
2018-07-17 22:50
I think not the professional audio reviewers say that gaming "dacs" are not that good I think they just amplify the sound for stronger basses and they are focused in simulate the 7.1 sound that doesn't really exists in headphones.. Fiio K1 is a professional sound dac/amp and it's very different than a gaming "dac" if you really consider to buy an professional audio headphone you should consider to buy an dac/amp too, cause professional headphones have higher impedances and it requires dacs/amps to extract their real quality sound!
2018-07-17 23:01
BTW I think the Sennheiser GSP300 is one of the best options for you they do not manufactures shit products! If you buy some professional headphone and it probably comes with higher impedance an dac/amp will be almost necessary and it will exceed your budget!
2018-07-17 23:13
So you think that gsp300 will be okay even without any dac/amp, just with a default sound ?
2018-07-17 23:30
Yes cuz that's how he was made for.. he's only 19 ohms every realtek motherboard can pushes it!
2018-07-17 23:32
I'll probably go with these, also wondering about logitech g433 read nothing but positive reviews about it.
2018-07-17 23:33
Hmm Logitechs are not that good I think they don't have a good quality sound and they can broke easily! Better you go to an gaming shop or Wallmart for example to test them irl that's the better way to choose is feeling it!
2018-07-17 23:37
Yeah i read that logitech isnt that good, but on the other hand reviews about that specific headset were more than good, basically saying there's nothing better for the price in a few different reviews
2018-07-17 23:37
Usually these reviewers saying logitechs are good they're gamers and know shit about a real quality sound!
2018-07-17 23:38
There was a lot of other headsets like mentioned clouds and they said audio is even better with the 433s, but will go for sennheiser anyway probably, better brand and everything.
2018-07-17 23:43
ATH-m50x please buy this its the fucking BEST no jk its only headphones, no mic but seriously these are the best quality headphones at that range. also most durable which is very important as you have clearly learned with hyperx If you want to hear more reasons then please tell me and i'll gladly talk about them
2018-07-17 23:16
m50x are a bit out of range but I'm thinking about m40x. Still have no idea what mic I'd buy with it, ideal would be something like modmic but cheaper.
2018-07-17 23:31
Thanks to all of you for your help. I'll probably go for those gsp300 or I'll buy a non gaming headset and I'll try to find some decent mic that's not too expensive.
2018-07-18 00:53
csgopedia.com/best-gaming-headsets-for-c.. The main features of headsets are Headphone Driver Sensivity Imperdance they make the difference in sound. So from this point it is better to buy Sennheiser or Turtle Beach Elite Pro
