ELEAGUE Premier Preview

[HLTV Writers] With the ELEAGUE Premier knocking on the door we decided to do a preview. Group A: consists of Astralis, Cloud9, Liquid and MIBR. Astralis vs C9 Ast bans mirage C9 bans nuke Ast picks inferno C9 picks dust2 Ast bans train C9 bans overpass Cache is left over Astralis will take this BO3 easily, as the map pool, structure and fire power all favours them. Ast 2-0 C9 Liquid vs MIBR Liquid bans overpass MIBR bans nuke Liquid picks inferno MIBR picks dust2 Liquid bans train MIBR bans cache Mirage is leftover Dust2 will be close cause MIBR already looked decent to good on it and with the addition of Tarik (another aggressive aimer). On the other maps Liquid won’t give up double digits as easily. Liquid 2-0 MIBR with the second map being close if not a map win for MIBR Group B: FaZe, Mousesports, fnatic and NaVi FaZe vs Mousesports FaZe bans nuke Mousesports bans overpass FaZe picks cache Mousesports picks dust2 FaZe bans train Mousesports bans inferno Mirage is left My prediction on this one is FaZe 2-0 Mouz, unless Snax will be as good as he was at Cologne on dust2, it could be close game. NaVi vs fnatic NaVi bans cache fnatic bans nuke NaVi picks overpass fnatic picks dust2 NaVi bans mirage fnatic bans train Inferno is left over If fnatic pick dust2, fnatic will take the map unless NaVi’s goldlike skill can destroy fnatic’s gameplan. On the other maps though I still favour NaVi. NaVi 2-0 fnatic -The_Grey_Wanderer [HLTV Writers]

Seems accurate, I hope to see innovative stuff from Golden though. Would be cool to take something away from C9 even if they have 2 stand-ins.
2018-07-21 07:13
First of all, it would be very impressive. Not only winning with a completely new squad, but also with an unmotivated squad. Maybe in the loser bracket they can have a fight with MIBR, as long as don’t get caught off guard by some of the more agrresive and individual T-side’s. On the their T-side they should try to abuse rotations heavily and play slow.

I just can't see Mouz winning this one

imo astralis 2 1 c9(lets give them a shot shall we?) liquid 2 0 mibr mouz 2 1 faze fnatic 2 0 navi(regardless of navi beating fnatic and all those stuff, you can't ignore how close match actually was...)
2018-07-20 19:40
C9 has still two stand-ins, one being golden who is a bit of a bot and styko. I can see C9 getting a map of them when Astralis don’t ban train, they pick it and they’ve practiced it heavily. Still fnatic have a shot of taking of them, but beating them 2-0? Probaly not

well I did say c9 getting one map, golden is not a fragger i wont even talk about that because it's obvious, but styko was good for a brief period of time while in hellraisers.. not really trying to say that he's a star or something but imo he can perform well under proper leadership Regarding fnatic, my point was that their match against navi they lost 2 0 yes they got rekt yes but they started halfs soooo slow I mean you can't comeback from 13 0 etc and that is what fnatic did, losing every anti eco losing everything force buying etc draken not delivering etc... you can't expect that from teams to do all the time
2018-07-20 19:55
Sure, we will see

i don't think fnatic actually started slow but NaVi being in a comfort zone where they can lose rounds i won't deny that this will be a closer match or atleast i think it will be but NaVi should definetly not lose this imo but its possible

fnatic lost 100 percent of their second round anti eco/force buy rounds in that match... and practically both halfs like 6 0 or so
2018-07-21 01:08
Maybe it could be cuz there were/are a new team, so Zeus probaly couldn’t read fnatic that much. If they now innovate (new setups etc.) and work in countering the individual skill of NaVi by exploiting the weaknesses. Then I would give them around 70% chance of taking the BO3. In the past NaVi also got upset by TyLoo at Starseries in a BO3
2018-07-21 07:12
Any flaws in the ban that I made?

nah, the first bans are quite safe, maybe fnatic picks another map but D2 is a smart choice
2018-07-21 14:35
fnatic 2:0 navi OMEGALUL
2018-07-21 07:17
It seems unlikely, but I could see an universe we’re it happens. Probaly not tho. Do you agree with FaZe 2-0 mouz
2018-07-21 07:19
I agree but I think game will be close.

so far liquid got 1 0 lead, c9 did lose 2 0 but you can't deny that they fought well on the first map and somewhat "fine" ont he second
2018-07-22 00:25
So far my predictions for the pick ban were slightly off, didn’t expect Astralis to choose overpass and let train be the decider, but (I know this could sound delusional) something in me tells me that gla1ve just picked those maps to pretend that they’ve worked on it, in reality they just thought that they’d beat C9 regardless on it. MIBR was average at best, while C9 showed some sings of life (second time they got Astralis close on inferno) impressive stuf!

Possible, match(at least on inferno) way closer than it should be but I don't really want to predict maps etc Well... mibr is expected
2018-07-22 08:40
In the next preview we have MIBR vs C9, will be hard to predict who is gonna pick/ban what... Both ban nuke, both do not have a clear map pool, both are new lineups...

as a hardcore fan, I don't expect C9 to win a single map in this tournament
2018-07-20 20:17

negative percentage
2018-07-21 09:53
Negative percentages aren’t that bad right? ;)
2018-07-22 06:49
I dont think that mouse will pick mirage over inferno against faze, and definitely as a deciding map. When faze are feeling it they will smack mouse on mirage, whereas in high-pressure situations faze seem to crumble on inferno. Mouse looked better on inferno than on mirage the past months too imo so definitely inferno as a decider
2018-07-20 20:22
Now that i'm rethinking It. I agree. Other flaws in the pick ban?
2018-07-20 21:22
Not that i can think of. Most of them make sense to me, 9/10 veto prediction id say

olof just came back...there's no way faze wins vs mouz
2018-07-20 21:23
Defend your point. Karrigan had always made teams from scratch, alsof it's not a 'new' player he knows his roll and the team know him

I think ur choices are pretty much right, but if dust2 is being picked up so often is kinda scary for a NaVi fan. its not that NaVi cant play , but they cant seem to finalise the rounds. i think they have lost 4 games really close, like 16-13 or 16-12. maybe they will show improvements this time.
2018-07-21 10:05
I hope so, dust2 was a classic NaVi map in CS:GO, it’s a shame that you can’t get a skilled map rolling for you when you have electronic and s1mple. But maybe it’s too early for judging, will see after this tournament.

well to be fair, expect for s1mple and electronic, and maybe flamie, the other two guys suck big time in fragging
2018-07-21 11:25
Yeah Edward and Zeus are legit bots but with dust2 being a T-sided map they should be able to cover some weaknesses.

Astralis would rather play Train instead of Cache
2018-07-21 10:36
I do not think so, if they do not ban cache who will pick it? Maybe FaZe, but who else? Cache is a map lots of team 2nd ban cuz none are masters on it. But train, we already saw some weaknesses on train (remember that close 16-14 win over FaZe at ECS, it was FaZe’s fifth map with Cromen and first on train). Also there are a few teams who would pick train: NaVi, fnatic, BIG. But for their match against C9: it would be still a safer pick. Cache is a map where skill is necessary. C9 have Styko, golden and never been good on cache. While on train, if golden has magically prepared a system on it, they would come close. Also train was a good map for C9 in the fall of 2017.
2018-07-21 12:32
have you taken in consideration the fact that liquid's coach zews its not behind them? i mean they seem a very fragile and emotional team so id mibr get a edge i see that game easily going to mibr 2-0 but if liquid show up to play i agree with you
2018-07-21 14:44
Sure, but you must know that MiBR haven’t had a mental edge on teams for a long time
