I'm really afraid it will, mostly because of money hungry corporations and their fucking factories and cars etc. And we can't do anything about it ;<

cars not big issue. 1 big ship per day same pollution as 5 million cars the 15 biggest ships cause more pollution than all the 760 million cars worldwide ...

Everything pollutes earth. And that's sad
2018-07-28 18:54
You can't compare both. As the big vessels use HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil) which is a fraction obtained from petroleum distillation, either as a distillate or a residue. So if big vessels dont use that almost nobody will, and the price for regular fuel would explode. It would even cause more harm, as the dirty heavy oil would be thrown into nature. Never listen to greenpeace or PETA. They are the worst.

You idiot that was caused because the polar storm went faster away than it actually should have ,which is caused by climate change.I mean last year it was like 0 degrees on the fucking north pole ,thats literally nothing for a place which normally should have something around -30 degrees if not even much colder than that.

Well, the thing is high temperatures are not uncommon but the consistentsy of these temperatures is getting higher and higher .They were literally set many new temperature records all across the world this summer. The US is right in the middle of global warming and will experience the hardest of global warming. Just look at it ,the tornado seasons are starting earlier and are longer than usual. More wildfires are appearing than usual in the US. And I am only tallking about the US. Even your own agency (NASA) is one of the biggest global warming researchers LUL. Stop with your bullshit you conservativ idiot and turn on your brain because global warming is real and denying it doesnt help at all.

2018-07-28 01:37
And? Summers are still lasting longer and longer. The drought periods in California for example are lasting longer and are much more harder than usual. We europeans had snow almost every winter ,but now it is rare if we have snow and it last over 2 days before it melts again because we have like 10 degrees again in december. Global warming can cause high temperatures in both ways. /Close

ok so huge cities with huge buildings with huge black roofs and black pavement everywhere u go and look with huge black pavement parking lots is giving a fair accurate reading on temps right? millions of vehicles driving all over in cities doesn't effect the temps right? air conditioners running all day in cities and taking a temp isnt effecting it atall is it?????? get real dude u can make arguments for rising temps just like u can make arguments for colder temps u can make arguments on y csgo is the best game and why its the worst game...everything is speculation conspiracies and such..until 100% true evidence is put forward its just theories.....

Earth was way colder and warmer millions if not billions years before humanity exist. The end of Earth is inevitable in future not by human activity but by sun . Human with his activity cant destroy Earth . Only his civilisation. Nature will destroy humans and countless forms of life as happened for the past billions of years until the total destruction of this planet by sun before his own self destruction.

"There have been five or six major ice ages in the history of Earth over the past 3 billion years." I'm pretty sure the ice age 2.0 happened a while ago.
2018-07-28 11:23
nature can recover and will recover as happens for billions of years . Earth once became a fireball losing 99% of living organisms and today life is thriving. Human activities harm the environment but this is boomerang and will affect if not destroy humanity. Environment will be ok by the years. Consider for example Chernobyl disaster.

Destroying the planet? No. They are only destroying the current living species. Humans can't damage the planet. We are meaningless on the bigger scale. We can only destroy the living conditions for ourselves, the planet doesn't care. After we kill ourselves to extinction with global warming / nuclear war / or something else then whatever "damage" was left by us will clear out in a few million years and new species will evolve again to walk the earth.

When will the rest of the world accept that the climate is changing and that humans could delay or stop that. We only have one earth.
2018-07-28 11:31
ur dumb if u think humans have only been on earth in the million years of evolution. probably colonized many planets before and the next planet will also be colonized by us so dont worry we fine daddy elon musk will send next generation to mars.
2018-07-28 11:37
The things that humans do to the earth is so incredibly small in bigger scale, in fact it's completely meaningless. There's no such thing as humans destroying the earth. Earth will survive, we might die to extinction but the earth will continue evolving and new species will evolve to live again.

2018-07-28 14:08
Yeap. One summer is weather.
2018-07-28 14:18
Its not an ordinary summer, and its because of climate change. Starting to suspect you a trump voter.

Can you even read? "Heatwave twice as likely because of climate change" Im sure you have low iq.
2018-07-28 14:29
Can you even use your tiny brain? Its weather caused by climate. Low iq trump voter.
2018-07-28 14:53
What? Even the scientists did not claim that as you can not proof such a claim by science.
2018-07-28 17:44
climate change affects ocean currents and jet streams, which have profound impact on weather. you can't say climate change caused this heat wave, but you can say its making it that much worse and lasting that much longer. thats what climate change does. without it, it would be just another hot summer. what part of this dont you understand? climate and weather are tightly intertwined
2018-07-28 17:53
But you cant put this summer on climate change. If you do its not science.

The thing is, in those countries the heat is normal. So people are used to it. People grew up with it. I travelled Asia for 7 months, in the beginning my heart used to go like crazy every day because of the heat and I had a really tough time with it. But after a month or 2 I became accustomed to it. It's a whole different story in Europe. We are DEFINITELY not used to this heat at all.
2018-07-28 17:00
Yes but believe it or not this heat still isn't normal where I come from. Accelerated global warming and climate change are causing this.

2018-07-28 16:09
low iq trump voter
2018-07-28 16:12
Global warming will continue either way. There's no way to avoid it anymore. Humans are too dependent on modern technology and ways of living.
2018-07-28 16:15
There is a good chance you are right, but I am thinking if people would realize how bad the situation actually is, this would change and that people could work together to make the shift away from fossiel fuel, mass meat consumption and plastics asap. Because it seems right now too many people don't know. That or worse, they are skeptics/deniers or don't care. Or think we can ride it out.
2018-07-28 17:23
Obviously global warming wont end the entire humanity. However before any serious work is done to stop global warming millions will have to die in order for the world leaders to start making changes. Personally I don't give a fuck since I won't be around when global warming actually becomes a real threatening issue for human lives. Which probably is hundreds of years away anyways
2018-07-28 19:40
Can't find the article anymore, but the Global Sustainability Institute already ran a climate model based on what would happen if we kept going at current rates for the next 40 years. They predicted major food shortages across the world.
2018-07-28 20:05
40 years is a long time. Things could be very different if technology advances at the same rate as it does now. For example we are likely to have humans living on Mars already in 40 years. Who knows how much that will change the world. Also food shortage of what kind of food? Meat? Well no worries since it's likely that food made of bugs/crickets will become the main food source in the next 10-40 years and we have pretty much an unlimited supply of that
2018-07-29 00:06
Crop yields are predicted to have frequent issues until 2050, when they will steadily decline. Bugs? Like Snowpiercer? That is gonna take a while and a lot of bad shit to happen to make people switch from meats to that. But yeah they were talking about anything that is harvested I think, so mostly crops/agriculture and livestock as well I guess. Yields going down, soil losing fertility, earths ressources get no time to recover, temperatures rising, water reserves decreasing, sea levels rising, fishstocks declining rapidly, more droughts and on top of that, more mouths to feed. Yeah, thats not gonna end well.
2018-07-29 00:32
Food made out of crickets is future food like it or not. The transition will be done slowly like you have probably already noticed. For example my supermarkets are already selling cricket products and also options that are partly made of crickets (like normal bread that is like 50% made of cricket powder or whatever, can't even taste the difference btw)
2018-07-29 01:10
Its not about me liking it or not. Where the fuck are you from that the supermarket is filled with crickets? I am fairly sure there is no bug food in germany, sweden, finland, netherlands, france or russia and if there is, its extremely uncommon. All I am saying is, its not gonna be easy to make people suddenly fucking eat bugs when they are used to quality meats and everything else.
2018-07-29 11:00
youtube.com/watch?v=CvzwyKiTitg it's becoming more and more common
2018-07-29 12:25
"its still taboo in the west" what they said. one bakery creates a hybrid cricket bread and you are saying its becoming more and more common? I dont see it that way xD
2018-07-29 12:52
Fazer is the biggest and most known bakery in Finland. and it's not the only one, there are many startups that sell cricket edibles (protein bars for example) And I should also mention that only last november it became legal to farm and sell insect food so it's a rather new thing. You'll be eating crickets in some form or another in 1-10 years maybe even without knowing it
2018-07-29 13:07
Not gonna happen in 1-10 years, promise.
2018-07-29 13:34
Well at the very least in 40 years insect food will replace a huge portion of traditional meat & wheat foods
2018-07-29 14:37
I pray for fake meat instead. Like that new startup in america? They get bullied by the meat industry now, but I hope they will make it. Plant based meat that almost tastes like the real deal, I'll take it.

it's romantic to want to be farmer again but when technology advances there is more specialization in society. we can collectively *forget* agricultural advances so that more people need to be farmers again to fuel society. but then f.e. china who would not go back to medieval economy would have a major advantage. of course long term our agriculture is very damaging for society but short-term it's very beneficial for us because we can have more doctors, scientists, craftsmen. so there need to be heavy focus on less-polluting agriculture and less pollution in general. but the same thing happens here. when USA decides to think long-term and stop using oil as fuel argentinia would be able to conquer them because they can still have tanks. in short there is not really a way back unless we all do it as a human race (which would be pretty naive to think). the only solution is inventing new energy and agricultural means to lessen ecological footprint and control human population.
2018-07-28 20:45

sometimes i think that as well but is it really true? i don't know about finland but in western europe you were bound to your land, you were at the mercy of your lords. if your lord wanted to take your daughter you probably didn't have much a say in it. of course these are still the more developed medieval period. in the period before it you were pretty much on your own and had to defend your own lands but woops there are those pesky danes prepare to fight for your life or see everything that you owe being burned. i tried to exaggerate a little bit here of course. it's hard to say which time is better to live in. of course if you were warrior aristocracy you had a fun time (in peace time). but as a serf in the medieval ages? i dno man. i'd prefer to be born in a pre-medieval germanic tribe then as a warrior LOL. rather be raiding than the beraided.
2018-07-28 21:03
id love this life in a tribe. like about 200 people. everyone does his job to help the community and each take what he needs.
2018-07-28 21:54
there is a name for that, utopian societies. and most of them failed. cuz it sounds like you are talking about that, the way you idolize it. real tribes of today and of the past, they are not as great as you think. I will agree with rollofocker in one thing, more so than today, at any point of time in the past it was immensely better to be rich than a poor nobody. you dont want to be a poor nobody in the middle ages.
2018-07-29 00:49
i agree, the past was certainly not any better, even though i like imagine it like that. todays life brings many qualitiea like health care and for many people safe existential basis. but this capitalism drives me crazy and this shit overpopulation. dude im looking for an appartment atm and doesntmatter how shitty it is, still over 100 people ask for it in just 1 hour.

nobody is denying climate change, however the impact of humans on climate change is highly debatable. of course there is an impact but it can range from moderate to dramatically high as some media would like you to believe. also i seem to remember there is a big focus on methane gas, while methane is only a small factor in the bigger picture of climate change. although i don't remember the exact substance for sure. i just wouldn't trust a scientific consensus and try to listen to all scientists. this is the basis of western science (galileo). again there is not a rational scientist who would deny climate change only the scale of the contribution by humans. by the way this jafkay guy is really intellectually dishonest calling everybody who slightly disagrees with his narrative low-iq.
2018-07-28 20:39
there is at least 3 guys in this thread alone denying climate change. also the only intellectually dishonest person is you. waht the fuck are you talking about "i think remember something about mehtane hurr durr". Man, if you havent read a single manifesto on climate change, not a single article or write up by renowned scientists and not a single report by the IPCC in detail, then keep your fucking mouth shut, else you look like a complete idiot. also, the impact of humans on climate as well as the extent of the impact is not debatable at all. the planet has always warmed and cooled in cycles, but currently it is warming 1000 times faster than normal, a speed that is growing exponentially as more co2 is pumped into the atmosphere and more and more feedback loops go into motion. just please, instead of writing a completely empty wall of text that makes you look like a 12 year old moron, do some fucking research instead.

damn kid you are just so full of hate lol. i have been receiving information from several scientists it was just a long time ago. you're intellectually dishonest because you use ad hominems as your main argument strategy. that maybe works on hltv but in real life you just get booted of stage. you don't understand what i just said lol. there is some debate within the scientist community about the extent of human contribution to climate change. this is the main argument that i was bringing. and i pointed towards galileo because you shouldn't always accept the consensus at face value. also what this scientist in particular was referring to was that climate change is a complex system and we only focus on the CO2 and MH4 parts of the system. e: is this a wall of text for you? xD
2018-07-29 10:48
Why waste time with deniers? They are morons. Sometimes it seems they are just trolls as well. So why bother. And it has nothing to do with "agreeing with me", its not "intellectually dishonest" to dismiss people who deny fucking basic scientific research consensus. Its not about opinion here. Just like you would dismiss flat earthers, deniers of basic physics theory or history, holocaust deniers etc etc. Also, do some fucking research and stop spamming me with your inaccurate nonsense.
