Pretty good numbers considering this isn't a major and the tournaments they compared ELEAGUE to are basically the major for those games. Also, I don't know why they still include Chinese viewers.

yeah the numbers look good, but CS GO has been the number 1 fps esport title for many years, now that position seem to be in danger

I'm confident it won't change anytime soon. We should at least wait till the next major and compare those numbers to the ones we have here today PUBG - 800k OW - 350k ELEAGUE MAJOR (Boston) - 1.3MIL We'll be good for a while.

what? PUBG will never be a competetive fps.
2018-07-29 22:56
I agree, BR games are not really suited for competitive play, but the event was well done and the viewer numbers were really high
2018-07-29 23:00
but that is only due to the huge playerbase and the prize money raised from the players. if the money wasnt there the event wouldve flopped big time. hell even FPL players joking about getting into it for the money. but beyond that its a RNG game wiht alot of bugs. so it objectively doesnt have any qualifications for a competetive fps.

exactly my opinion, but the event was entertaining to watch nevertheless, I was positively surprised

lmao chinese viewers are so fake
2018-07-29 22:54
why are there so many chinese watching these games?
2018-07-29 22:58
I don't exactly know why they were that high, but PUBG has insanely big fan base in China the Asian teams won all three competitions at PGI 2018 and there were a lot of Asian fans in the crowd that traveled to Germany just for this event

Current famous games will certainly have a lot more views and more visibility, but it is still considered CS: GO is still very well represented even though it is much more "old and outdated".
2018-07-29 23:01
It will never be better, cs is a hard game to play and people aren't going to play 4k hours to be good, also cs is boring for most of the people Community is retarded and cs is a sometime, a waste of time

38 million chinese watching PUBG stream, wow!
2018-07-29 23:04
"Major" numbers are pumped, this was bigger tournament than major. PUBG is typical quickly peaking fps game and it's not really even a competitive game by its nature. Short lived rally my guess. Altought this does not mean cs will grow much but instead to settle for steady level like it has been doing past 20 years :) Much like poker

OWL has been promoted in game for months and has special things when watching on twitch. If you want a good comparison you have to take the major viewership
2018-07-29 23:14
yeah I think major number will be fine (boosted by drops xD), but we will see
