Clown9 first
2018-07-30 21:59
Unlike gambit they had to beat more then one decent opponent fluke or not and c9 didnt have 2 or 3 completely new maps in the pool plus a randomized 3rd map
2018-07-30 22:05
Fnatic was tough oppenent for Gambit at the time, they used to meet and beat them on most tourneys. They had history. As for Immortals, well, whole 2nd bracket was weak af, I just hoped for VP final.
2018-07-30 23:55
Just because they were hard opponents for gambit doesnt necessarily mean they were a great team which they werent btw
2018-07-31 04:56
Well, what team would be better opponent which Gambit didn't met back then?

c9s opponents were tougher bro just admit it
2018-07-31 19:25
G2 for C9 were equivalent of Fnatic for Gambit, hard opponents for each other (at the time) Astralis were as much of upset as FaZe (but much less emotional obviously) Immortals in Krakow and SK in Boston playoffs weren't strongest opponents (cuz SK were also playing with "stand in" + quarter and semis in one day)

lmao those morons couldn't win 2 rounds XD
2018-07-31 18:27
Gambit and why tf is cloud 9 on the list? They had to run a gauntlet of the best teams at that time? they literally came back from 15-11, there were multiple overtimes, the cloud 9 major was actually one of the best majors I watched because of how competitive it was. GAMBIT should be the only name that comes up. the team quality was low asf, i have no idea what was in the water over there for it to come down to big, gambit, AND immortals in the playoffs of a MAJOR??? oh wait IT WAS THE BUG
2018-07-30 22:03
C9 bad major for same reason as Gambit, both teams in the final were flukes.
2018-07-30 23:35
Flykes? C9 beat top tier team after tip tier steam stfu
2018-07-30 23:37
Once. And all of them were handicapped. G2 because they’re G2, SK because they had no practice, and FaZe when they were at the height of their choking.
2018-07-30 23:41
SK were also playing with "stand in" + quarter and semis in one day
2018-07-30 23:49
Their standin was the player they literally just had the month of two before hand nice bullshit buddy
2018-07-30 23:59
they werent practiced with him before major
2018-07-31 00:06
They CHOSE not to practice with boltz. They were told well before hand they would have to use felps. And u can't tell me sk did not play better in the major with felps and no practice then with boltz after the major. Stop the excuses and accept the facts c9 ran the gauntlet and won. Sick of these fluke bullshit jokes. Na got their 1 win and it was well deserved. Noone gave c9 the win and they weren't play r2 luckers like qbf big immortals or gambot. C9 got that shit the hard way and nothing can change it. Now will it ever happen again? No time soon but the 1 they got was well deserved!

All stars alligned and C9 won a major nobody argues with that. C9 and Gambit major runs and events before/after are similar. People did not expected both of them to be champions and that's why they call it a fluke. I dont.
2018-07-31 09:22
Nah gambit played against weaker teams overall. Big difference between immortals big and gambit all being in major playoffs vs g2 c9 faze and end of golden age sk
2018-07-31 12:34
Excuse after excuse kid. They won that shit fair and square. They shat on shox, they beat sk who played BETTER with felps then they ever did with boltz and sk CHOSE to practice with boltz as their own form of protest to not being able to swap, they then dropped faze clan who was arguably playing at their best Guardian was going insane niko was on olof was dialed in karrigan was going all out shit even rain was all in. C9 came from an elimination match vs g2 to coming back from a map deficit to coming back from 15 11. C9 had the best major victory in the history of csgo and nothing u jealous dickhead can say will take away from that. Every match was competitive, close, and had c9 playing against known top tier players of the scene. Shox, coldzera fallen niko and guardian all fell in the face of c9 who had the best performances of their lives. Skadoodle put in the most work I've ever seen in his career. Stewie 2k went so hard he immediately fell off after the tournament. Tarik went full clutch mode and literally turned into the definition of he wins those rush had flashbacks to optic and was tearing off heads left and right tm went full automatic and fucked everything in site. The Boston major was the best major in terms of the history and the raw cs. Play after play even non fans were on the edge of their seats. This upcoming major might not even come close to the performances put on in the last major. Tier 1 cs is too empty due to teams kicking everyone left and right. Major might be an easy sweep for Astralis unless navi takes them out early. Honestly I don't think we will see such an even major till next year.
2018-07-30 23:56
AND g2 went 3-0 in qualifier AND groups
2018-07-31 00:07
Exactlty! C9 won vs teams that were at their best! Not a fluke win in anyway
2018-07-31 00:09
I swear you’re like the only one on HLTV who has not called the win a fluke!
2018-07-31 00:11
It's so stupid to see people call c9s win a fluke and compare it to gambit. Gambit had the easiest major win in the history of csgo majors. C9 had arguably the hardest run possible that I've ever seen. It's not like faze knocked out everyone good arguably c9 played the scraps. C9 knocked put every top tier in a journey to the greatest win I've ever seen. Was not one sided or boring, it was beatiful top tier cs! I never rewatch games but every now and then I gotta rewatch sick clip from the Boston major. And it's not even all C9 clips for example when niko pushed through a smoke to get behind c9 and from the bomb. That was an INSANE play! Nothing from Krakow with big jump bugging or the teams being so bad that they were able to consistently knife each other. It was Top Tier Cs
2018-07-31 00:15
cloud9 played top tier cs where all of the players were playing at their best. Imagine if the team stook together, people wouldn’t be shitting on them so much.
2018-07-31 00:24
The thing that's funny about the C9 win is that people seem to forget that their form leading into the Major was pretty respectable. They were placing pretty well at the tournaments before the event, so it wasn't like they weren't able to compete. But, you know, people like to complain because it was an American team, since that apparently matters.
2018-07-31 00:33
Imagine if gambit sticked together, people wouldn't be shitting on them so much. Gambit was in the playoff bracket with the most top teams and still made it out on top, calling it the most ez major ever is ridiculous. If IMT won it would've been the most ez major. Also C9 had the biggest home crowd advantage ever.
2018-07-31 11:16
I mean... so did gambit in a way. Not saying they did but it was east Europeans-CIS crowd...

That was the best major win since 2015 at least, they literally defeated in the playoffs the 3 best teams of the past year, G2 was close the the best form they had, SK was playing amazingly even with a stand-in and it was Faze peak. They were the 3 favorites to take it all, and C9 had to kick out each of them. It can't be more deserved.
2018-07-31 05:15
YES ANOTHER PERSON WHO AGREES WITH ME
2018-07-31 05:43
Not just the playoffs, they also cameback from a 0-2 in the group stage, beating Astralis, Vp and Vega Vp might have been expected but no matter what form Astralis is in they are never an easy opponent Vega had won 2 games already so they werent exactly pushovers either

“Nip best major win” ROFL BIGGER FLUKE THAN C9 AND GAMBIT COMBINED
2018-07-30 22:05
how is c9s a fluke? I swear bro hltv just cant let na cs have their one. C9 got their major in the best way possible and won it in the best way possible. literally more credit given to c9 for that comeback from almost being knocked out the first round than any major any other team has won in the history of csgo.
2018-07-30 22:11
Well, they played with home court advantage, and they played against G2 and SK with a stand - in.
2018-07-30 23:53

2018-07-30 23:59
You´re a C9 fanboy ? Because ur response full of shit says it. C9 major lineup, was probaly the best NA roster ever ( not my favorite ) The question is that they played agains teams, that had underperforming problems, or roster ( roles ) issues. Tbf when i saw the play off bracket, i said to my friends that C9 would go to the finals, but i doubt that they would win the whole thing. They proved me wrong and won it, but don´t talk about C9 players like they were top 20 product, They weren´t and they never will,
2018-07-31 00:29
They were top 20 and u can stop the bullshit. If u can't accept the facts then keep it to yourself don't come here making yourself look like a fool like these other brainlets. C9 will never reach the performance thy did ever again but they did have the performance if you can't accept that your in denial
2018-07-31 00:31
C9 were placing into playoffs of events before the major. They were clearly a Top 10 team at the time, the fuck are you even talking about?
2018-07-31 00:35
"C9 major lineup, was probaly the best NA roster ever"
2018-07-31 00:38
"but don´t talk about C9 players like they were top 20 product, They weren´t and they never will" Please, continue.
2018-07-31 00:41
Individually, not as a team. BIG reached the Cologne final, on the same conditions as C9:Good players ( not top 20 material ), but well structured; playing in front of their home crowd motivated them, although BIG played agains pretty good teams, and crushed them.
2018-07-31 13:52
That's patently false. When C9 reached the finals of the major they were consistently placing in Quarters and Semis on a very individual play based system. To call them structured is kind of ridiculous, honestly. BIG hadn't placed even remotely close to where they did in Cologne until that moment, which wasn't the case with C9. Further, when C9 got to the major final, people had already been talking about Tarik's upturn in form coming into the roster, and how he was a candidate for a good Top 20 spot. I also think it's silly to say that Autimatic and Stewie2K were, at that time, not contenders to be Top 20 players. Home crowd obviously played a big factor, but if C9 had kept up their momentum past the major I guarantee we'd have one or two of their players in the Top 20. Sadly, that didn't happen and the team divided, but that's just how it goes.
2018-07-31 18:44
You should check their Overpass performances during the major. They surprised everyone with that map, using a structured plays. At the end of the year, we'll see if any of the ex-C9 players do the top 20.
2018-07-31 19:44
Yeah but calling C9 structured because of a single map is silly. They had really great teamplay aspects, but their structure wasn't really their strength. I doubt any of the C9 players will make Top 20 now, because all of them have gone months without any notable success since the major. Which is basically why I said had they kept their momentum, but it's just how it goes.

You literally linked me the proof that you were wrong xD English stream peak - 1 071 789 That was the record for Eleague 2017. The 1M7 number is for english + russian + chinese channel, so nobody cares. Oh, and Eleague 2018 had 1M8 for all theses channel

Then that site is bullshit xD Cause i was supprised it said 2017 had 1,7 while i saw it had 1,4 when i watched it. I know you are wrong and you if dont believe me, you are welcome to watch videos on youtube explaining the most viewed twitch "Video" being Eleague 2017.

But what the fuck guy, what i'm going to tell you is a FACT : Twitch NEVER had a channel with more than 1M1 viewers at the same time. Fact. Twitch says that the record for Eleague 2017 was 1M 030K, Eleague says that it was 1M 070K, and you, who has no idea, just come and tell it's 1M4. The people that owns the channel you're talking about and the people that owns the site you're talking about all say you're wrong, but you still believe you're right ?

SK/LG cheated in their major wins. Gambit was the worst and Astralis was 2nd.

Everyone who is saying that gambit and c9 had fluke are watching names not matches and tournaments. if there was not final with sk/faze/fnatic and no coldzera and niko on top that means win is not worth anything.
2018-07-31 00:32
Yeah and you only watch majors

They both had a fluke, but it's not something bad. If you are the best team in the world for 1 week, it's a fluke, but you still were the best team in the world, that's what count. C9 deserved it, won against the 3 favorites. For Gambit, the problem is not that they had a fluke, it's that most of their campaign through the major looked like a t2 tournament. Beside Astralis, they got only pretty average team, and the level of play was really low compared to other tournament. They could still pass Astralis and had to elevate their level for this one, but having only one real obstacle to get a major win is maybe not enough. Not their fault tho, but I don't think they would have won if the favorites didn't eliminate each other and if the level was as high as usual.

Gambit best of bests only one week. that is true and I cant really argue that because of almost instant zeus's leave to na'vi and they turn down to t3 again. but I can say that their peak at the major was actually insane and I was just not even beliving that all 5 of these guys can play so well. I would like to see tournaments after major with zeus on team :/

2018-07-31 09:38
gambit of course!!! astralis vs VP was one of the best finals in csgo history. chokestralis (as they were called back then) made a huge comeback on third map against a very strong VP. epic in every way!

Fnatic in DH 2013 (first major so expected, was a clusterfuck for me) 4. VP (Cmon, NiP had a fucking BOT on their team, 4v5 with the entire VP roster on fire, boring finals) Only got those 4.

No, mad because the grand final was pathetic. Gambit started off playing like bots, giving IMT an easy win on Cbble, and then IMT just choked. A game of the chokers, you could say. No I loved what Zeus did to defeat Astralis, respect.

With finals I agree but the Match with Astralis was so unpredictable and when the Zeus did his speech with Gambit Players. Gambit don’t really play cobble that’s why they lost it.

Definitely. I felt like Gambit vs Astralis was the final. Especially because VP stood no chance against IMT at all. I see. Explains why

1: without a doubt C9, the whole scene should be ashamed of being on such a low level that C9 could win. 2: LDLC, the only team that has gone out from a major only to later win it

1. Gambit that competition was garbage (Immortals vs Gambit in major final is just sad) 2. SK (not the luminosity one) Literally no competetion the 2nd time they won a major. Way to dominant to be interesting. And they met Liquid in the final ZzzzzZzzz 3. Envy because no1 remembers cluj-napoca 4. LDLC Because of the fnatic episode (would have been fine if they had just replayed the last map). 5. 3rd time fnatic won Honorable mention: Luminosity only because i hate that stupid clip with Coldzera in semis against liquid absolutely nothing to do with skill like the casters stated, just pure luck. They would have one the major anyways thats why its not in the top 5 tho

I mean i might be bias but why does everyone consider C9's major win a super fluke? True they had home advantage but it not like C9 was performing badly before the major unlike gambit. In December 2017 they were ranked #5 team in the world, consistently beating other teams (Except Faze, they were always destroyed by them) and their major run consisted of beating Astralis (#3), Faze (#2), SK (#1) tho they were running a stand in. Also afterwords they went to summit and had their last good showing their (choked against liquid) but still made 2nd beating out SK. hltv.org/news/22349/team-ranking-decembe..
2018-07-31 17:19
