FACEIT MAJOR winner 2018
Sweden Black13777
I promise you, it will not be Astralis, lately favorites are not winning. Most likely tier 2-3 will win again and it will be fluke Your opinion who will win?
2018-07-31 21:56
I expect to see the team from the qualifiers in the major, will be the winner We will see

2018-08-05 21:50
maybe not easy as fak but they everytime beat them 2-0 or 2-1 who cares fnatic never beat s1mple on LAN in Bo3 series even with dennis/olofm in team they beat them one only in Bo1 on PGL krakow on de_mirage

yes ,the major and katowice are the only events in which they looked tier 1 , but still they would have lost the final without flusha rolling back the years. after their first shuffle with godsent till the end of 2017 fnatic was totally shit then they became a good team from major till wesg (excluding starseries ofc) then became an average team again. but now i believe they will become an elite team again , they have looked good with xizt

How sad it is... Same teams are changing their places on the top, there is no one nowadays that is willing to give his free time to become a pro. 5 teams that are actually good, everything else is just there for filling up the tournaments and getting salaries.

They have all chances, all odds to win if they face right teams in right time Pressure on them believe me it's very difficult to win being a favorite. (This is feasible, but I do not think this will happen)

At the Major i think everything is possible, because everybody tries to give 200%. Astralis is probably in the best shape to win, but as you say, it depends on who they face. I could imagine G2 to step up if they come out hot after the break straight into Stockholm. (I guess i just like Ex6 though)
2018-08-11 00:06
yep and after break astralis 100% not play same cs as they did

2018-07-31 22:01
Like Thorin said it will be biggest upset in CS:GO histroy if Astralis dont take it but i feel Astralis will lose in semis-Final
2018-07-31 22:05
thorin is an moron! how can it be the biggest upset in CS:GO history ??? The major is 2 months from now alot of shit can happend during 2 months. Astralis can drop off some1 can rise wtf bullshit is that
2018-07-31 22:09
Yes, you are from Denmark ofc you want Astralis take it, but Pressure on them as fav team. Like on Astralis-Gambit if you rememberg on PGL, they are lost to Gambit with 1.4 odds
2018-07-31 22:10
i didnt write anything about me wanting Astralis to win the major? I wrote that it is 100% bullshit that it will be the biggest upset in CS:GO history. Because in 2 months alot of shit can happen so that dosent add up. Now if they played the major this weekend i would agree but it is 2 months from now And yes i want Astralis to win it because they are the best team so far and they deserve it atm. But no i dont think they will win it because i think they will drop after the player break unfortunately
2018-07-31 22:25
hope so, i want new team win major instead of Astralis Astralis nowadays win everything with NaVI another team should win major But yes, with their plays - they are deserved to win this and #1 atm

Because Astralis is clearly the best team in the world and has been all year and have a player break before the major which as a team who works as hard as they do benefits them more than most teams.

Lol i don't think so either, but he was talking about Flukes and tier 2-3 teams :) I honestly don't think it'll be Astralis either seeing as they got a player break before the major, This will put Astralis out of their momentum a little bit and it gives the other players a while to study astralis' tactics :)

Being shit before a tournament and remarkably worse after the major seems like the definition of a fluke to me. They all overperfomed on an individual level while having the entire croud on their side.

yes it was a fluke however they did not over perform on individual level, just all 5 of them were playing their best Counter-Strike at the same time at the same tournament.

''just all 5 of them were playing their best Counter-Strike at the same time at the same tournament.'' >''just all 5 of them'' >''Their best Counter-Strike'' >once in a life-time >not replicable I don't wanna sound like a dick, But doesn't that seems something comparable to.... uhmm i don't know... Over performing?

 |
United Kingdom Gio_bose
As a team yes they over performed, that's why before I said it was a fluke, however, on an individual level each of the five players did not over performed. when i say best counter strike i mean that they were playing to near the top of their ceiling if not their ceiling. just because they are playing their best Counter-Strike doesn't mean they can't replicate it. Just that they, highly likely, can't replicate it all at the same time

Tempo storm??? How is that even remotely a french team, because two players in it are french? I’m talking a completely new roster (maybe SK idk) with NBK, apEX, kio ScreaM etc, maybe ZywOo. Also I disagree with G2 “not looking like they’re gonna do anything”, on the contrary, they look like a well drilled team with good teamwork and shox looking to get back on he map soon. Even if they don’t impress at the major, I doubt they wanted bodyy for any other reason than to keep their spot, he was no doubt the worst player in old G2, they only preferred him over apEX and NBK because he “did what he was told without questions”. They may add someone like RpK after major since he’s an obedient team player and also a fucking beast. The formula goes: ((kennyS + shox + RpK) x Ex6TenZ) + good support/SmithZz = a fucking amazing team.

in that first team, who are your stars? who are your play makers? the second team is just not going to come to fruition as Ex6TenZ and SmithZz are not the players they used to be. Kenny will never return to the Kenny we know for a sustained amount of time, he will only have blips of his old brilliance, shox as well might not return to his previous form after his surgery and also the quailty of the teams at the moment may be too strong. At a maximum I think G2 could make it to 8th in the world, on the border of Tier 1 and 2.

ScreaM and apEX could be a formidable entry duo, ZywOo and NBK can be the two AWPers, kio as a support, the team is there, just needs to actually happen first. As for G2, I’m starting to doubt if you even watch their games, kennyS is one of the best AWPers in the world and the only thing preventing him from being the best seems to just be the fact that the teams only been to 3 events so far. SmithZz has never been a star and never will be, he’s the support player/role player, and as for Ex6TenZ, G2 has become such a more complete team than before because of him. He’s a brilliant aimer, but not many people see it because of course he’s not putting himself in duels as much as he is kennyS and shox. And shox is 100% recovered from the surgery, he’s had flashes of his 2016 form, but apparently he still is in the mindset of IGL, and either speaks too much or doesn’t communicate at all. He needs time to adapt to Exi’s style is all, he’s still got superstar player written all over him

that's fist team you named as i said wont be a top 10 team as there is too much competition at the moment. second to even be considered for one of the best awpers in the world you have to be in the top 40 players in the world which Kenny is not. Shox is nowhere near his form from 2016. as for the 2 older players they are washed out. You say Exi had brilliant aim, even f he does I don't think he can compete aim wise with all the young starts with amazing aim.

Gambit could surprise with B1ad3 + AdreN & co always steps up during majors. Liquid could do a Cloud9. Fnatic looked fairly okay at ELEAGUE and could surprise with their new roster if flusha and KRiMZ is on point. If NiP play like they did against OpTic and ENCE and f0rest and GTR can step up then they could be a contender. BIG has looked strong lately and UK crowd is gonna cheer for smooya. G2 could surprise. Likeliest teams to win is FaZe, Astralis or NaVi but NaVi and FaZe have choked a lot lately and Astralis sure is the most dominant team but choked last major. If there's any underdog that could take it, it would be BIG, NiP, Fnatic, Gambit, Liquid or G2...

I am thinking the same. Even if I am a big Astralis fan, it's hard for me to imagine them being as good as they are now in one month. And most probably the other teams will be extremely prepared and ready to take down on Astralis strategies. As for the winning team of this major, I could see it being a surprise, such as G2 winning or maybe MIBR, but tbh it's pretty hard to give a prediction on that since there are many things to consider

I feel like it would be unrealistic for VP to make a run in the major, just not realistic enough for them in their current state, although I think a lot of us would like to see it. The team that I think is going far in London, is Gambit. With the addition of B1ad3, I strongly feel that he will mold the team into a top 5 team, considering the amount of star potential in AdreN, Mir and HObbit, and the clutch and support ability of Dosia and Mou. It's been known that Gambit lacked team-play and tactics, which is what B1ad3 will give them. If any team is going to have a run in the major, not going to call that they will win the major, but at least possibly become legends. NO BIAS HERE :D G2's results are too inconsistent... G2 got wins against NaVi in a BO1 and edged out Mouz in a BO3, however shortly after, lost to Luminosity in Valencia. FaZe seems to just seems to choke time and time again. MiBR feels like they will eventually find form, although I can't say when they will, be it at this major or after. Astralis and NaVi imo are our favorites.

hope to see something great with b1ad3 :D
2018-08-01 04:24
Definitely, B1ad3 can bring a lot to the table with Gambit. He already pointed out that he can fix internal issues in the team, as well as guide them tactically. B1ad3 played with AdreN and Dosia during 1.6 for UNiTED and additionally coached the 2014 Hellraisers lineup with Dosia in it as well to a 5th place finish at Dreamhack Winter 2014 (Which was an objectively worse team in all regards). So because B1ad3 has experience with some Gambit players, I would be very surprised if Gambit would not improve under his leadership. The only thing I am skeptical of is of B1ad3's effectiveness as a coach tactically since the coaching rule was set in place, B1ad3 himself is notorious for his control over his teams as a leader, the coaching rule in place may limit his abilities in that aspect. Also, B1ad3 stated he would be instating Dosia as IGL, this worries me for obvious reasons (xD). However, B1ad3 has played with him for a long time, and maybe he can unlock an IGLing potential in Dosia that we haven't seen. Overall I think B1ad3 moving to Gambit was the best thing since Zeus... Except this won't be a fluke.
2018-08-01 04:45
B1ad3 also played with AdreN in dAT team before s1mple joined, eventually evolving that roster into early Ukraine F3.

2018-08-08 16:08
Yeah, those have been analyzed so many times, I didn't think it was necessary to do it again. My prediction for them is Liquid will get to Quarters or maybe Semis. Mousesports for me is a wildcard, but as of their recent results, I can't make a safe bet on them. Can't see either team winning the major though, unless some really lucky draws happen.

Yeah, I don't doubt it. I was just saying Gambit has a lot of upset potential that I feel is not being recognized. Liquid is undoubtably a better team then Gambit. I was giving reasons why Gambit COULD potentially have some sort of run, big or small. You asked of my opinion of Liquid and Mouz, so I gave it to you.

Sorry about my harsh previous response. In my opinion i think that if they are feeling them selves In the tournament we could see them at least make the final or maybe win as they are are putting in a huge amount of effort for the major as they are only taking a bit of the player break off and they are skipping the two events they got invited to before the major to prepare for it. One of those events where all the top teams will be. Taking into account that they would've had major preparation for the major I have high expectations for them in the major.
2018-08-08 20:31

I feel like a favorite is going to match against an underdog in the grand-finals, it could be NaVi/FaZe vs BIG/FNATIC/MiBR who knows, but somehow i feel that Astralis won't meet the expectations, big factors being the player break and the pressure on them, also they will have to play the qualifiers, and usually Astralis doesn't look good against underdogs, it somehow doesnt fit their methodical playbook

For the teams that I want to see win, NiP, V.p, or BIG. Astralis has been changing the meta recently and they managed to win Eleague premier as the clear favorites there. We are going to see the start of a possible era of CS again with Astralis here.

i think Liquid has gone under the radar recently. and if Astralis choke like they usually do when the world expects them to smash all the competition then liquid might be able to fly up and grab that Facit major.

I agree, Liquid underrated. But since Magisk joined I didnt see Astralis choke anymore (Sydney was not a choke I think, just a really great game from both teams, some individuals pushed FaZe over the line)

Yeah I know but if Astralis don't win I'd like to see Liquid win. They have been in so many premier finals this year but yet no premier trophy.

I see either FaZe or NaVi winning. I know there are many upsets, but Ast, FaZe and NaVi are just way too far ahead of the competition right now. Although I am a fan of Astralis, I think due to the playstyle and raw skill NaVi and FaZe might beat them. As far as Liquid and Mouz are concerned, i don't see them winning. Liquid could upset NaVi, but Astralis is just their cryptonite. Mouz is not good enough yet i think to challenge the top 3. But we will see after the break ^^

MiBR has a chance to win the major if the progress they are making keep going, cold looking on point again for these last 3 months. FaZe could possibly make into the finals but i think they're gonna choke again, Astralis make it to the semis with liquid. Its not possible to say "this team is gonna win the major" but surprises may be shown, even mouz with a little more practice with snax, or fnatic, cuz they have a rly good lineup as well... let's see what will happen
