No worries mate, have many meals (5 or more) a day in smaller portions instead of three big ones, get some decent gainer from your local fitness store and drink loads of water and you should gain weight in no time :D Also when you train, don't forget to do deadlifts and squats as those exercises uses almost every muscle in your body and therefore are essential to gaining mass

Choose nutrient-rich foods. Try smoothies and shakes. Try smoothies and shakes. Don't fill up on diet soda, coffee and other drinks with few calories and little nutritional value. Instead, drink smoothies or healthy shakes made with milk and fresh or frozen fruit, and sprinkle in some ground flaxseed. In some cases, a liquid meal replacement may be recommended. Top it off. Add extras to your dishes for more calories — such as cheese in casseroles and scrambled eggs, and fat-free dried milk in soups and stews.

yea, except your fat ass off the couch.
2018-08-10 10:24
I agree with that but power means the ability to do things in this case, if you look at body builders most of them aim to gain mass not power, that's why most of them can't do shit, while most of athletes do not have ripped bodies yet perform insanely better.

Three things you need to get buff: 1. Workout, rest 48 hour between workout, your day off could be leg day 2. Sleep, 7-8 hours, every day! 3. Food, robust food, like protein, meat, eggs etc. Also stuff like rye bread and other starches

you don't need to rest 48 hours between workout if you hit diffrent muscle groups
2018-08-11 13:34
you need to convert the muscle mass into fast twitch plyometric strength for max power because you need speed aswel...and you dont NEED to max out on more mass at this point the question is what exactly do you want ? if you want to just want to build muscle like a body builder to continue lifting heavy then you have to take care of your joints and form to prevent injury and start taking steroid and EAT ALOT and just lift heavier and heavier but be very careful
2018-08-10 10:10

Pasta, white rice, beef, meat - and lots of it. If you want to gain weight and get more mass, you simply have to eat more. Take your daily calorie intake and +300-500 of that.

Man, don't listen to people who say like "just eat more food". If you just eat a lot of food you will gain only fat weight. Muscle weight don't grow fast without steroids. Just create a little proficit of kcal and don't wait big results shortly than in half a year Ofc if you're so impatient, you can start taking steroids, but in this case you'll get appropriate negative effects

Also hltv is not the best place to ask for advice like that because most of people here are kids who have never gone to gym but like give default tips from google. Even though my gym experience is not so long I've passed through some mistakes. When I was only starting "training" I also thought like if you eat more you'll faster gain weight. But it only brought more fat and I eventually had to lose it

I know HLTV isn't best place to ask it, but here's also adults/mature people, like you and many others who have given many good tips to follow. Doesn't the fat get "replaced" eventually when you train and the mass that you have been getting by food gives you muscle mass, right?
2018-08-10 10:26
Yeah, ofc it doesn't get replaced. Training gives you an opportunity to eat a little more without getting fat (maybe +500-700 kcal), but it's not about you can eat as much as you're possible. Muscle mass will grow due to more protein in food and trainings that transform that protein in muscles. But it's very slow growth
2018-08-10 10:38
Fat has nothing to do with muscle you cant turn fat into muscle the point is that you need caloric surplus to build muscles, but u will gain fat mass too.
2018-08-10 10:40
you get more muscle when u eat more but u will also get fat more you eat especially if u doesnt use right macros and nutrients

1. go to gym more, even 3 times a week i find is too little to gain a lot of mass, 5 is optimal 2. eat carbohydrates before your meal, and a shitton of protein after, if you way 150 lbs, get 150 grams of protein, carbs mean anaerobic respiration, and that makes muscle grow faster. also get a lot of calories, otherwise, your body will lose muscle 3. lift fairly heavy. doing light weights isnt helpful for muscle building

When you say "1-3 per" are you referring to week or daily. I know people who go to the gym multiple time a day so thats why i ask. Have you tried taking shakes? During Offseason for wrestling I was weighing 126 at 16 years old going into my junior year and after a full summer of weight training and drinking weight gaining power shakes i built to a lean 145lbs. I find shakes to work great and now sit at a lean 180lbs. at 19 years of age. GL man

1-3 per week, I think I should start going more, but sadly school is kinda preventing it. No, I haven't tried shakes too much to be honest, but I sure will try more by now, the other user recommended couple shakes, but can you recommend any others, with a lot of nutrients? :)
2018-08-10 11:55
Tbh man 1-3 is not consistent enough. you usually dont start building muscle until 6 weeks of consistent weight training and thats just an average time span some it takes less time some it takes longer. I personally used a weight gainer called "Muscle Juice" and it was pretty effective, but also tasted like total ass bc i bought vanilla so stray from vanilla if you are not one to stomach bad taste. If you are looking into a protein shake I recommend "prolific Isolate" it has gotten me to the bulk i want. I would say your biggest issue right now though is consistency. In order to truly start gaining you must find a consistent work out schedule. Mine consists from Monday- Friday Monday- Chest and Triceps Tuesday- Back and Biceps Wednesday- Leg Day Thursday- light high rep chest and triceps( with a few more high rep workouts for differentiation) Friday- Shoulders and back workouts such as rows and pull downs Also every day do at the very least two abs workouts. I usually do 3 sets 40 situps and 3 sets 60 russian twists with medicine ball. also like to do 6 inches holds with legs for 5 1 minute intervals. also make sure you are running. I know not everyone has time for this but this is just what i did every morning with a few wrestling buddies at 5 am before school. Still do this routine now. Good luck man

Also, I'm thinking about starting wrestling and going to gym so any tips? Would appreciate a lot!
2018-08-10 11:56
I'll be honest with you man. Wrestling may be a great way to get into shape, but if you are good at anything else (Football, Baseball, Swimming) stick with that. Wrestling got me into the best and worst shape of my life. I have been at the point of 4% body fat and six pack you know everything a guy wants, but my body has paid a toll i wish upon no other. I have had surgery on both of my knees twice. and my joints are mostly bad from 8 years of wrestling. I had to go to the hospital so many times i cant even count. Even though i love wrestling with all of my heart and it is truly the hardest and toughest sport I think you should do something else. But, If you are to go into wrestling. Start working on your Cardio and your legs. So much of wrestling rides on your ability to endure long and tough matches. So endurance is key. as well as your legs explosiveness and the ability to lift another human someone close to your weight is imperative for basic wrestling. Work on these too thing while also paying attention to your other major muscle groups and you should be fine with starting wrestling.

I just recommend when you eat you just eat larger portions because the problem I have is that I always like to eat much more than needed. So what I think you should do is that you try to eat a bit more every time and you will get fat.

That is basically true because I ate so much my stomach basically got used to it so I could do it easily. So if you want to gain weight try to just eat more and more and slowly work up, but when you reach your goal stop and slowly start going down in the amount you eat.

dont just think what you eat, or how much by one sitting. Easier to just add 2 warm meals per day to the diet you are eating now. Like 9am and 3 pm. I think the hardest is to change your diet to something you don't eat naturally or eating super huge portions. Rather add few meals, every time you eat your extra portions you know it's all about the gain, also gives motivation to do it, cuz that's the extra mile you are doing I gained from 70kg to 110kg having 15% fat, it was a lot of eating

Calculate your TDEE and eat with 250-500 kcal surplus. Simple as that, calories in calories out. Use food scale to be more precise. Literally every single reply in this thread is just bullshit.
2018-08-10 12:31
Now, the latter half of this post, claiming that every single reply in this thread is just bullshit, is just bullshit.
2018-08-10 13:40
Every single reply is bullshit except mine of course.
2018-08-10 15:25
I sincerely respect your hipocrisy. Kind regards Indiancurrywoman
2018-08-10 16:25
it is not a hypocrisy. Tell me a # number of a comment in this thread which on point, not a bullshit.
2018-08-10 16:47
Its hipocrisy in that you dont give arguments for why you are right and others are wrong. I can point out posts which I believe to be true in regards to the topic in some sense. I do not however wish to put in the effort to do that, so its time to say farewell. Bye kingofpop.
2018-08-10 17:14
Btw I dont challenge your claim about 250-500 kcal surplus a day, which I believe to fit the purpose
2018-08-10 17:22
"Simple as that, calories in calories out." That's my argument. That's the only thing you have to realize for weight gain / lose. Saying "just eat more", "eat McDonald", "eat more carbs", "eat shitty food" won't help if you are not tracing calories. The only OKeish answer is #27, but he suggest steroids as well so yeah. Maybe next time stop acting like a smartass, I wanted to give him serious answer. If you like "just eat shit food" more then be it. Whatever makes you happy.
2018-08-10 17:26
I did agree with your initial claim about calorie surplus all this time. I simply doubted your rhetoric, about you claiming others to be wrong and you right, which you gave no arguments for at all, until now. Now your claim has more credibility. Gg

Wait until you turn 30. Then you'll be desperate to not gain weight.

If you want to train you need to learn how to cook. Chicken breasts/fish/red meat are your main ingredient. You can add vegetables, beans and some rice/pasta. For breakfasts - eggs, yoghurts. I personally eat bananas a lot. When I started going to gym I was skinny as hell. 62 -> 73 kgs and going up. Also if you cant hit the gym more, try doing workouts at home(pushups, burpies, pullups and stuff) but dont overtrain, give some rest to your muscles.

You need to eat food with a lot of proteins , you can also try taking whey protein , but I would suggest taking it directly from food such as eggs , chiken , brocoli , almond , milk etc , altho whey protein would produce faster results.

So depends how much you want it to focus on your health. If you don't care, eat junk food like KFC/McDonalds etc. If you care check how much you should eat at a site. It calculates your perfect daily intake. Let's say you need 2000Kcal, eat 2200 to gain weight, 1800 to lose. healthline.com/nutrition/how-many-calori..
2018-08-11 13:53
This summer I've eaten 2500-3000 calories every day, mostly chicken, rice, pasta, minced meat, tuna, salmon and oat meal. I've gained about 4kg in 8-10 weeks and I workout 4-6 times a week. That's how I gained weight at least.
2018-08-11 13:56
how much was ur starting weight? i mean you didnt ate so much unless u calculated wrong.
2018-08-11 16:00
60kg. What do you mean? Eating that much isn't hard, one portion is about 500-600g of food. Rice contains a shit ton of kcal if you eat at least 300g a day it's not hard at all to come up to those numbers.

Mass has nothing to do with your progress. It has been proven to be a myth that fat helps build muscle. You're probably an ectomorph which means you'll have a harder time gaining size although far from impossible, but gaining weight for ectomorph people like you is harder than having an obese guy lose his weight. Eat larger meals and try filling up with calorie rich food, avoid soft drinks because they're poor on nutrients and fill your stomach up easily. Hit the gym as hard but remember your weight is far more dependant on your eatings and drinkings than on what you do or not in the gym. Do more balanced meals and don't focus only on protein, carbs are important for mass as well. Make sure each piece of steak you eat goes with the right amount of rice, for instance. As hard as it is for some people, unless you're sick, sooner or later you'll start seeing some difference. Just keep in mind that nothing can go wrong once you're doing the right thing at both gym and kitchen, but also don't be impatient because it takes time.

yeah fat doesnt help muscle but if u eat much you will get easier muscle but also fat jesus people still cant understand this

Eat chips and drink 5l of ice tea every day
2018-08-12 15:17
You mean fat or muscle? For muscle just eat meat 1-2 times a day (chicken breast is one of the bests). For fat, I think its obvious...
2018-08-12 15:36
1 times a week is nothing. 3 times a week is minimum
2018-08-12 15:37
1 is enough if u do it right but with 3 u can get max results as beginner
2018-08-12 15:46
Ask Hiko or Guardian, they must know how to gain weight.

Also eat lots and lots of brown rice and chicken breast every day bro. it works but it also makes you want to kill yourself
2018-08-12 16:03
Eat more Calories than you burn. I for example use butter tea (you can also use coffee and butter) Black tea and butter + salt has a lot of calories that you can drink, thus making it easy to consume more calories. Also fat is the most calorie dense macronutrient

When at the gym going for growth do less reps with more weight. No matter what u eat u will grow. Otherwise eat high fat foods. Cottage cheese for example.

well you need to go on bulking diet. simple as that easiest solution for you: eat double what you eat now. wake up. have breakfast, then second one, then early lunch, lunch, late lunch. afternoon meal, dinner then late dinner. if your only goal is to gain weight with muscle then this is what you have to do keep in mind, bulking is not the cheapest of them all. do not really count the protein/fats/sugars ratio on this one. eat all but clean. and of course gainers with maybe some complex creatine mix does not sound like bad idea
