Anything with brad Pitt or directed by Tarantino, My favourite film ever is Inglorious Basterds. Has the best villain ever in Christopher Waltz “Hans Landa” Also like Fight Club, La la Land (no homo) and Boyz In The Hood. New mission impossible is also great. Probably the only good one in the series

It's a new film, based on a true story about a Scouser who ends up in Thai prison, filmed in a real prison, real ex-cons acting to make it as realistic as possible. I don't tend to like boxing films or prison films but boy this one is so good. It has a few scenes which some people find distrubing so make sure you're prepared haha. Let me know what you think of it.

I would have to remember them all to tell you my favorite, but in the last years I liked the Martian very much. As far as I know it is the only movie without any sentimental drama leading the story. And I like hard science fiction. And there is two actress i feel very very cute in it. On the same "har sci fi" topic, I like Interstellar, because it is one of, if not the only movie who used relativity theory correctly.
2018-08-14 15:46
The Martian is great. I love Matt Damon as an actor. If you like his films, the original bourne trilogy are amazing - ultimatum is the best one. Good will hunting is also an excellent Damon film.

Even if I like his movies for the most part. I have to be more criticizing than you : The Bourne trilogy is good but not amazing. In fact I believe only the first one deserve to be mentioned. Other are just made to surf the success wave, and you can tell it just by the pitch : a new drawer within the previous drawer contain a new deep state. I kind of dislike these kind of easy stories we find all the time in tv show and sequel movies "hey the bad guy is not the end boss, there is a guy above it, and another one and another one". Will hunting is good yes, but I'll give it another critic : as one of the best known drama about studies, and successful student story, it doesn't show enough that even for this genius it is not easy to learn. All the movie is showing him hanging around, and say "oh I read the whole library for just few box of penalty". Okay, sounds simple that way. So the problem is : audience don't get to understand that reading a whole library is, if not hard for a genius, at least very long. And so this film made people think that if you are an high IQ, things will be easy. And it is not, in fact most of gifted students give up once they have to start working. Because their whole youth was nothing but the school of laziness "hey I don't have to work, I always got A grade". And in our society (and I saw it a lot among mensa members), there is a tremendous amount of wasted talents because of that. And that's a shame. And this movie is not helping at all. In fact, it is so well known that I believe it is part of the problem. So because of that, even if the movie is good I can't list it as my favorite list.
2018-08-14 17:15
Great read! You seem to know your movies well, however I do disagree based on preference that the bourne identity is the best in the series. I don’t know how you can overlook the ultimatum. Didn’t care much for Supremacy but the Ultimatum is fantastic. Give it another watch trust me :p

I got a few. My all time favorite remains "The Shawshank Redemption" Runner ups would be, "The Persuit of Happyness", "The Prestige", "Fight Club", and "Dead Poets Society". If we turn to series i have a few as well. For me when i watch series, i have to be able to somehow connect with at least one of the main characters. "The Flash", "Kyle XY", "The 100" and "Suits" really got me sitting in front of the TV for hours. But the only Show that really got me was "Lucifer".

If you like the flash, watch arrow! Really good show. The 100 is so good, really enjoyed it, suits as well but right now the 100 is my second fav as Vikings will always take top spot

I think I prefer Arrow because of Oliver Queen, the character he plays is cool, the show itself, The Flash is better. Let me know what you think of Vikings further down the line! Getting myself a Viking style tattoo because after watching the show, Vikings really enticed me, adding it to my sleeve. Why thank you, you too! I started watching, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Iron Fist, the first two are decent but the latter are a bit meh for me. Marvel smash the movies but DC smash the TV shows.

Normally not much into "Super Hero" movies. But yes i do like Oliver, but for me the "mentor" role he has to Barry in The Flash is more than fine for me. Iron Fist i actually think has potential, despite a quite underwhelming first season. I like the whole setup with the lost boy Danny Rand, who comes back as a "deleted person" to society, and tries to fight his rights back. It really got me. Luke is pretty cool as well, haven't watched all episodes yet tho'. After all. Have you watched Lucifer? I think Tom Ellis is a hell of an actor. So cool in every way! So i might start watching "Rush" just because of him. Haha

Any film by Stanley Kubrick really (apart from his first one). He had the touch of Midas. But some of his films aren't something that I would like to watch before going to sleep if I had to wake up early in the morning, they are really thought-provoking. There are too many great films to choose from, though.
