t1 - Astralis,NaVi t2- Liquid, FaZe, mouz t3 - basically all teams ranked #6 to #20
2018-08-20 23:48
only 2 t1 teams makes no freaking sense at all...

Denmark JustYes
yes it does? T1 = teams that are above everyone else and are favorites at big tournaments
2018-08-20 23:51
ok so t1 - astralis...wow, flawless logic. no, that just doesnt make sense at all. thats why its TIER, not top2

Denmark JustYes
ok you're fucking retarded. TIER 1 IS THE TEAMS THAT ARE FAVORITES AT BIG TOURNAMENTS, AND ATM THERES ONLY 2 TEAMS THAT ARE FAVORITES. IF THERE WERE MORE TEAMS THAT WERE THAT GOOD THERE WOULD BE MORE T1 TEAMS U DUMB FUCK
2018-08-20 23:56
first of all you are the one who is retarded... secondly if navi is above everyone else who on earth did they lose to liquid last lan hmmm? you just makes no sense and 2 t2 teams are bullcrap. nothing more

so if a team lose ONE match they are not t1 anymore? Losing braincells just reading what you're typing
2018-08-20 23:58
jesus i will not waste more my time with obviously deluded person who thinks that t1=top2 teams... btw i never said that " if a team lose ONE match they are not t1 anymore" but how is that possible if they are "above everyone else" like you said? you are rly stupid. bye

You clearly don't know how tier rankings work
2018-08-21 11:30
so please tell me...there isnt any official definition in the first place
2018-08-21 11:32
Pretty much anything is better than your definition as you said that someone who gets beaten by someone is not above that one's level. It happens that the 2nd best team gets beaten by the 4th best team, but still Navi is better than Liquid
2018-08-21 13:50
i never said that navi isnt better but that doesnt mean that they are freaking TIER above...again, please tell me your definition of t1, i rly would like to know
2018-08-21 13:53
T1 are the clear favorites to win a tournament
2018-08-21 14:17
thats only YOUR opinion, not a fact...by this logic only 1-2 teams would be t1 atm which is in my opinion pure bullcrap
2018-08-21 14:18
Thats the consensus of the community rn. Also i would add Faze to that so there are 3 teams in it. When Nip had their 87-0 run would you have added other teams than Nip to tier1? In doing that you would set them onto the same level which was just not true. The amount of teams in t1 changes, you cant just change that because you are not satisfied
2018-08-21 15:07
"Thats the consensus of the community rn" as you can see it isnt...there are a lot of points of view on tiers. for some its only astralis and navi, for a lot its candidates for semis and its actually even whole top10 for a lot of people aswell "When Nip had their 87-0 run would you have added other teams than Nip to tier1?" first of all it was PURE DOMINATION, nothing comparable with current situation and secondly yes, i considered also verygames, virtus.pro, maybe cph wolves...dont remember all teams to be honest. again, contenders for atleast semifinals on consistent basis are imo t1 teams
2018-08-21 15:15
i don't fucking get all that hate "U DUMB FUCK" why wtf? what has he done to you? when you're discussing with someone on real life you do like that?

2018-08-20 23:59
if the arguments are valid , anyone is open for dicussion. but when the arguments is so fucking dumb , i would use the same kind of language , maybe not as harsh but i would definitely say he is a retard to his face lmao

2 tier 1 teams is autistic logic tho, he had every right to argue that
2018-08-21 00:45
tier1 means the absolute highest level of teams. right now every team is an underdog , liquid ,faze , mouz , fnatic (i like to call these teams tier 1.5). everyone, except for navi and astralis which are the only teams in contention to win titles so they are the only tier 1 teams. like in 2017 there were only 3 tier 1 teams sk faze and astralis (maybe g2 too), and the rest of the teams were multiple levels below them below them even if they managed to beat them occasionally. basically , there are on;y 2 ELITE teams in the world atm.

United Kingdom galaxzy
ELITE and tier 1 is different
2018-08-21 00:52
honestly , it depends on your perspective.if u are looking at a bigger picture , then every team in top 20 is tier 1, below that are tier 2 and below rank 100 every team can be called t3. but if u are comparing the teams within the top 15 , then the elite teams - tier 1 , other underdog contenders and dark horses - tier 2 and teams like gambit , c9 , nip etc are t3. the OP was most likely talking about the teams in top 15 - 20

the rest tier 3? and why would you say up to north and not include G2 and tyloo? Just wondering, no hate because it's a good list Imo :)
2018-08-20 23:57
north are able to upset t1 teams, they are able to win t2 lans and they are able to do some dmg in t1 lans aswell.. g2 hasnt showed literally anything to be even ranked tyloo could be considered but imo they dont attend enough lans with eu teams

close 3 mapers vs navi and mouz, havent played liquid yet with the new lineup and beat faze so yeah
2018-08-21 01:41
i couldnt care less about few head to head match ups lol...considering them as t1 bcs of some maps is stupid... they arent favourite for even semifinal in big events currently so they arent t1 in my book(and btw they are FAR from navi lol...)
2018-08-21 01:44
I dont really see mouz and Liquid up there in t1, i can see where you get Liquid but Mouz i really dont think should be considered t1
2018-08-21 11:32
why? bcs of 1 horrible event with new player? they are contenders for atleast semifinal in big events on consistent basis so imo they are t1 team
2018-08-21 11:35
They were a placeholder team that rised when every other teal fell off. They didnt achieve anything in the latest time as the other teams found their forms again.
2018-08-21 13:52
hltv.org/stats/players/events/798/oskar?.. atleast get your facts str8... their last big event - semifinal cologne before that - i mentioned myself that its their 1 horrible event starseries - another semifinal quarter at dream hack - below average event iem sydney - semifinal starseries - first their last 6 big events...1x 1st, 3x semifinal, 1x quarter. like i already said: contenders for atleast semifinals on consistent bases=t1 team

2018-08-20 23:52
5-20 for t2? i'd go for 5-10 then 11-20

You think Optic, NIP, Cloud9 and ENCE are t3?
2018-08-21 00:00
yeah, they lack of being in a t1 tournament now a days, c9 gets invites mainly because of their success in eleague, optic, lol i havent seen them in a t1 tournament since iem oakland 2017, aka the "budget faze" line up. Also NiP as well, rarely invites in t1 tournaments after draken left
2018-08-21 00:03
Optic were in proleague finals, made it to lower bracket final
2018-08-21 00:10

2018-08-21 00:28
But they always bombed out in groups. They were invited because of their name, and because of their oakland surprise win, not because of their actual form at that time

They played 4 tournaments without Draken. Cologne, minor qualifier, the minor, and Csgo Asia championship. They bombed out of cologne I’ll give you that, but they made it to the playoffs in China, qualified for the minor, and then won the minor

imo tier 1 teams are the teams that are always at the big lans and tier 2 teams are usually at the smaller lans that arent considered big events but sometimes make the big lans
2018-08-21 00:19
tier 1 - tournament winners (na’vi, ast, liquid, faze?, mousesports?) tier 2 - unexpected to win tournaments. sometimes go deep into playoffs but will ultimately falter against tier 1. ex. big, g2, mibr, fnatic, nip, NRG tier 3 - unexpected to see at a premier tourmament, much less making the playoffs. you will almost never see these teams beat a tier 1 team. ex. QBF at the major, renegades, cloud9 (LUL), tyloo

T1: Astralis (dominating the scene) Na'Vi (actually getting some trophies, while beating Astralis consistently) Liquid (maybe not winning anything, but at least making Finals) FaZe (They're kinda scary with that crazy firepower, even though they are lacking on strats) Mouz (They're actually looking strong enough to be considered T1) T2: Fnatic (Their IEM Katowice / WESG run was eventually very good, but they're obviously struggling rn) NRG (Won IEM Shanghai and got some decent LAN results and dominating Online results, but couldn't qualify for the major, sadly) Maybe Mibr (They eventually don't look strong, like not at all, but I guess they still deserve to be T2... Even though I hate them) T3: NiP (Eventually qualified for the major, but there're still lots of flaws in that team, RIP old legends) Tyloo (They're actually looking strong for an Asian Team, so I may rank them here... Even thinking about putting them into T2) BIG (I maybe don't like the team, but they were pretty strong at ESL One Cologne and somehow made the finals, but they're still very weak) Cloud 9 (They're maybe not even a full team, but they still won the major... even though it may have been a fluke, but they did, and maybe they can comeback with the current/another roster) OpTic (They're also looking like a team with lots of potential, but still have a lot to prove) North (They won two Dreamhacks yea, but can't really do much against stronger teams) Edit: T3: RNG (Had a stronger performance at IEM Sydney, but didn't do anything at all after that) HR (Are actually a decent team, and Woxic eventually just wrecks everyone, but they still have a lot to prove) Idk if I'm missing someone or if my explanations are just real trash, but there you go. 💙
2018-08-21 00:37
t1 / ast/navi - consistent tourny favorites t2 / liquid/faze/mouz - dark horses, almost don't even wanna put mouz this high at this point tho t3 / pretty much every team from 6-20 on hltv ranking. mostly new or just unproven rosters that have decent potential

Why you need to have this shitty system called Tiers where nobody knows what it means or what tier is what skill level. All of you guys are placing tiers based on HLTV ranking which I think is itself not the right approach. They change the rankings weekly and for many cases many teams don't play for a particular week and due to that drops down in the ranking. Tldr: HLTV should change its ranking system
2018-08-21 16:03
