ah i see, this has to do with mathematics is conveyed differently to physics in school. What schools teach you in math is applied mathematics, meaning applying methods learned previously to only slighty variating questions. The rough basics you are being tought in physics are not all too much different from lets say university lecture except thats its simplified - classical instead of taking relativistic effects into account. Mathematics is a Geisteswissenschaft, concepts are supposed make sense, they are right if they dont contradict eachother. Physics is a natural science, not our mind but nature is the highest instance. we design concepts to make sense, but they are not neccessarily right. in the same way that just a fraction of what we can imagine makes sense in a physical way, we can just imagine a fraction of the physical things that make sense. unlike in mathematics, in physics you dont determine what right or wrong. what area of physics are you being tought rn?

i literally have no idea... something about "Induktion" i don't even know anything in physics like nothing AT ALL. not even simple basics sometimes i was learning for the tests and then after test i have no idea what i wrote on the paper that subject is just soooo boring for me and not logical at all

+1 but you can try to learn and if you're good in math it should be easier for you to learn it. I'm fascinated by physics with all it's laws and theories but I really suck in math so even I tried to study physics in high school I just couldn't even tho I have and had the huge interest about the subject.

math is like 2x more stupid and difficult, u've just been learning it for much longer time and thats why physics sounds so different and complex. If you have both a decent math and physics teacher and they do crossovers on some subjects and they work together it can make it easier for students to understand both subjects.
2018-09-19 19:41

my first physics teacher made us write down everything she demmed interesting and/or important, i used 2 normal notebooks each semester and by the time i ended that year i had a full book of physics that i kinda had memorized cuz of that. My notebooks about physics are more complete and with less garbage then the actual books i was learning from, and after i went to UNI i just kept coming back to them whenever i felt i lacked the bacis to proceed in more complex subjects. Ofc atm i use internet 10x more then i go back to those notebooks

Because you have innate talent for clear cut things like math, while having trouble putting together abstract concepts like physics, that involves more conceptual thinking? Regardless unless you have some low level of IQ this is your lazyness speaking to ask about it on hltv instead of studying the exact problems you're not understanding. If other people can figure out physics then so can you, unless you're mentally impaired.

Dude, why are you putting yourself down? Becoming better version of yourself is the way to move forward, so whenever you decide your limits you're crippling your own growth and deciding to not get any better at that particular direction.

physics is just the application of math to patterns and regularities in nature. if you're good at math, then school level physics is easy, just memorize the formulas. btw, being able to add, substract, multiply and divide is not 'being good at math', if that's what you're thinking. it's about knowing which formula to use and how to manipulate it to get to a desired variable, the actual numbers you put in at the end are irrelevant. if you can do that, then you can do physics aswell.

First of all, you need to get rid of your prejudice. Physics is the math of the nature. So if you can do math you can do physics as well. You said math is easy if you are smart and WILLING to learn, it is the same with physics. You just need to learn the I like to call it the "concept" or the "culture" of Physics. In physics you experiment and observe the subject, then you interpret the datas to a mathematical equation, then you symbolize the units to make it easier to solve the equation with. For example the Newton's laws of motion: J. Kepler, Galileo Galilei and Newton all contributed to this law. They observed the motions of the planets and the gravity and while so they've found out that the gravity (which is a force) were affecting the acceleration of the objects and the mass of the objects were proportional with the force. This is the equation: F=m.a So what is this? F is for Force, m is for mass, a is for acceleration (acceleration is the change of velocity) Force's unit is Newton (N which is kg.m/s²), mass's unit is kilogram (kg), acceleration's unit is meter/second² (m/s²) This means a force acting on an object equals to it's acceleration times it's mass. If there is no force acting on the object then his velocity won't change (it's acceleration equals to 0) Force=F=N= kg.m/s² Acceleration=a=m/s² Mass=m=kg Let's solve an example to understand it better: <---2m/s² _____🚗_____<---4N A car accelerating at 2m/s² with 4N of force. What is the mass of the car? If we write the equation F=m.a --> 4N=x(mass).2m/s² Let's just write the symbols instead of units so it's less complicated 4F=x.2a --> 4F/2a=x x=2 so the mass of the car is 2kg There you go, an subject of physics is done. It is this simple.

2018-09-19 19:43
well i cant say anything against that
2018-09-19 19:45
Btw the best tip i can give you is to think. In high school physics before doing anything with the problem you have you should just think what you will get (i mean a force or whatever it is) and then do the maths . I know it sounds stupid now but it really helps.

I can agree with that, I find physics hard too and its annoying how stupid my answer can look if you think about it, like why would a car go in 200km/h or something like that xd
2018-09-19 21:33
No i don't mean the actual result. I don't care if car goes 20kmh or 400, i mean that first of all you should understand that they are asking you about car velocity and not anything else (like it's mass) and then do the maths.

2018-09-19 20:21
Not sure, about the German education system, ours is fucked(wateva). But for physics I'm also really not the best,I found out that you need to be interested in the case of "physics" or else it may not work ;/. I'm interested in hardware and when it came to talk about these sorts of physics, like heat description and electricity I was rocking it,for most other stuff tho - meh not good,it's just the fact that maths and physics are connected, but also involve different things
2018-09-19 20:33

You can just drill Math. But you have to drill and actually understand what number means what for the system you are looking at ... and all this right from sir Isaac Newton to Metric tensor of GR. Physics is fun, but you have to have rock solid foundations for any layer you are to about to get in to. That's the difference.
