why am i so good in math and english but so bad in physics ? like i don't even understand what's going on in my class that's fucking bullshit

btw nickname checks out

nick checks out btw

btw checks out nice

it does btw

combobreaker

grade?

10 realschule
will go to gymnasium tho

ah i see, this has to do with mathematics is conveyed differently to physics in school. What schools teach you in math is applied mathematics, meaning applying methods learned previously to only slighty variating questions. The rough basics you are being tought in physics are not all too much different from lets say university lecture except thats its simplified - classical instead of taking relativistic effects into account. Mathematics is a Geisteswissenschaft, concepts are supposed make sense, they are right if they dont contradict eachother. Physics is a natural science, not our mind but nature is the highest instance. we design concepts to make sense, but they are not neccessarily right. in the same way that just a fraction of what we can imagine makes sense in a physical way, we can just imagine a fraction of the physical things that make sense. unlike in mathematics, in physics you dont determine what right or wrong.
what area of physics are you being tought rn?

It’s 2 hard 4 me as well, like wtf is velocity

physics is such a fucked up subject tbh
either you're good at it or you're completely shit

+1 but you can try to learn and if you're good in math it should be easier for you to learn it. I'm fascinated by physics with all it's laws and theories but I really suck in math so even I tried to study physics in high school I just couldn't even tho I have and had the huge interest about the subject.

this is my last year of school and i don't really wanna learn something about physics
i don't even know basics i was cheating on tests all the time

Cheating is bad, mkay. You should be vac-banned.

bad teacher? i was shit at math at the start of high school but actually got decent at the end because we got a new teacher that was better at explaining so maybe its the same with your physics teacher

no bro i just don't understand what's happening like electricity amperes or some other shit like please leave me alone I DON'T WANNA UNDERSTAND IT

no time to read this shit
maths = if you are actually smart and willing to learn
physics = either you are good at it or not at all

when you get into harder levels of physics you realize how similar math and physics are, but since you dont know the basics it might be hard

ofc i don't know basics because this subject is just stupid and not for me
i remember i skipped my physics classes when i was younger because it's just so boring and useless, even talking about politics is better

nice attitude!

ty mr ///fuck

You should use the internet to study. It's more effective than most teachers.

Try finding a different teacher. Maybe some private lessons. Maybe a different point of view will match with your style.

???????????????????????? physics = math

i call bullshit

ah your name, you are 12! got it!

your nickname isn't even better don't talk shit here
btw going to uni soon

He's not wrong...

The only limit, is the one you set yourself

What a "good" question

Cuz you have to understand it. You can not just learn the theorie.

Reply needs to have actual content?

Sorry.

Because you have innate talent for clear cut things like math, while having trouble putting together abstract concepts like physics, that involves more conceptual thinking? Regardless unless you have some low level of IQ this is your lazyness speaking to ask about it on hltv instead of studying the exact problems you're not understanding. If other people can figure out physics then so can you, unless you're mentally impaired.

yes I'm obviously mentally impraired

i studied physics at college. got A* and A in a-level maths and further maths, but got D in Physics. It's hard as fuck especially when i knew i was only going to study mechanics and forces etc when i left. Still, i got into uni and study mechanical engineering now, which is much better

damn good for you

thanks bro, you'll do better yourself i imagine

If you're good at math but can't grasp concepts in physics the problem is with your teacher or learning method, not you.

I'm pretty sure it's me

theres a reason physicists on average have a higher iq then mathmaticians!
(its only about 5 points tho, so not even a standard deviation)

yeah probably

pretty much me

because in physics u have to understand what you are calculating, if you dont understand whats happening in the task you are lost.A sketch can help alot ...

the most not logical subject ever

physics is just the application of math to patterns and regularities in nature. if you're good at math, then school level physics is easy, just memorize the formulas.
btw, being able to add, substract, multiply and divide is not 'being good at math', if that's what you're thinking. it's about knowing which formula to use and how to manipulate it to get to a desired variable, the actual numbers you put in at the end are irrelevant. if you can do that, then you can do physics aswell.

sounds simple but when i get test it's different

First of all, you need to get rid of your prejudice. Physics is the math of the nature. So if you can do math you can do physics as well. You said math is easy if you are smart and WILLING to learn, it is the same with physics. You just need to learn the I like to call it the "concept" or the "culture" of Physics. In physics you experiment and observe the subject, then you interpret the datas to a mathematical equation, then you symbolize the units to make it easier to solve the equation with. For example the Newton's laws of motion:
J. Kepler, Galileo Galilei and Newton all contributed to this law. They observed the motions of the planets and the gravity and while so they've found out that the gravity (which is a force) were affecting the acceleration of the objects and the mass of the objects were proportional with the force.
This is the equation:
F=m.a
So what is this?
F is for Force, m is for mass, a is for acceleration (acceleration is the change of velocity)
Force's unit is Newton (N which is kg.m/s²), mass's unit is kilogram (kg), acceleration's unit is meter/second² (m/s²)
This means a force acting on an object equals to it's acceleration times it's mass. If there is no force acting on the object then his velocity won't change (it's acceleration equals to 0)
Force=F=N= kg.m/s²
Acceleration=a=m/s²
Mass=m=kg
Let's solve an example to understand it better:
<---2m/s²
_____🚗_____<---4N
A car accelerating at 2m/s² with 4N of force. What is the mass of the car?
If we write the equation
F=m.a --> 4N=x(mass).2m/s²
Let's just write the symbols instead of units so it's less complicated
4F=x.2a --> 4F/2a=x x=2 so the mass of the car is 2kg
There you go, an subject of physics is done. It is this simple.

ty i will check that out

K nice 14yrs old physics level mate.

I wanted to give an easy example as he said he didn't even know the basics.

It was an exaggeration i believe :)

For sure.

I literally have the same fucking problem
I am the best in math really good at english but physics is as God shit in my brain

Names checks out.

well i cant say anything against that

Btw the best tip i can give you is to think. In high school physics before doing anything with the problem you have you should just think what you will get (i mean a force or whatever it is) and then do the maths . I know it sounds stupid now but it really helps.

I can agree with that, I find physics hard too and its annoying how stupid my answer can look if you think about it, like why would a car go in 200km/h or something like that xd

Got physics last year. Was pretty good at it, ended the year with an A.

Not sure,about the German education system,ours is fucked(wateva). But for physics I'm also really not the best,I found out that you need to be interested in the case of "physics" or else it may not work ;/. I'm interested in hardware and when it came to talk about these sorts of physics,like heat description and electricity I was rocking it,for most other stuff tho - meh not good,it's just the fact that maths and physics are connected,but also involve different things

physics shit, math as well

Then my life is shit cuz I'm studying maths+physics degree :(

lmao i would be kicked first week

Unless you behave like a retarded you don't get kick. This ain't matchmaking.

Simplicity is key in physics . You gotta find a way to understand yourself. No one can really learn Physics like a robot. INTUITION!

physics easier than math lol

You can just drill Math. But you have to drill and actually understand what number means what for the system you are looking at ... and all this right from sir Isaac Newton to Metric tensor of GR. Physics is fun, but you have to have rock solid foundations for any layer you are to about to get in to. That's the difference.

why am i so bad at everything?

lags

Maybe you are not good enaught at math ?

your brain is wired wrong

because ur dumb
math and english is linear
physics requires depth thinking and layered thinking also visualizing, adapting and understanding while translating it to real and easy meaning

Wtf does that even mean, that a subject is "linear"?

*facepalm*

Nice answer

*lipbalm*

You are pretty stupid yourself if you cant explain what it means with your own words

mad cuz triggered kkkkk xd

yes

yesn't u

me too but I am _smarted_ than 99% of the class (check my flag).
