Once every 2-3 years for nostalgia I re-listen all the books in audio format. Reading is great but too limiting imo. + The one torrent I got in my language has a great reader.

Yeah i remember, im born the same year as Daniel Radcliffe so i really saw the characters grow up same as me lol :d Was huge fan at younger age and read the first 4 books several times and then i lost interest and just watched the movies, watche the first one easy 10 times but last 3 movies only once. I also remember when my friend went to the first movie with his family his youngest sister was like 6 or 7 and couldnt read fast enough to follow the subtitles so after every line she asked her parents: what did he/she/they say through most of the movie LOL. He said people sitting nearby wasnt pleased lmfao

Having read the books when I was young, I've always felt disappointed with the movies (and frankly it's been the case every time I've read the book before watching a movie). They're not bad movies, they're not even bad adaptations, it's just that it's always so hard for movies to render the internal mindsets of characters, actors can only do so much, and using a narrator for this would quickly get annoying in movies. For that purpose, written form is much more impactful. So in the end the Harry from the movie feels completely different from the Harry in the books, and the problem is the same for the other main characters. If you liked the movies, you should read the books.

I love the Harry Potter series :) I think it's important to revist the the things that made you happy as a kid every once in a while. Even if the feeling is short I like feeling like a kid again sometimes. It's a refreshing break from the stress filled world of being an adult.
