Living From betting [SERIOUS]

Hungary Ilove2bait
Hey guys, I've been betting Since 2014, and in the first 2 years i wasn't succesful, than I got into it, after it I was better, and in 2016-2017 i lost always because of the stupid strategy I was using (going allin, ragebetting a lot, chasing losses etc.) You can be profitable, if you Use proper Bankroll Management, and Avoiding tilting and a lot of stuff. I started to make some math about oddses, and Probability 1.01 99.0% 1.083 92.3% 1.1 90.9% 1.15 87.0% 1.2 83.3% 1.25 80.0% I also started to take notes from this site bettingexpert.com/academy/basics-for-suc.. Do you think you can be profitable in a long term? Also anyone wanna talk about matches, and betting to help each other hit me up. TL;DR: I want to live from betting, do you think its possible? Thanks.

You have to better at judging the oddses than the bookmakers, and also you dont have bet on every match, while the Bookmaker has to do that, also you can take advantage on oddses, if you use different sites for the best oddses.

i Made like 180+, 1.6 On astralis is looking good, but I dont wanna bet too much, and I advice the same to you, " The random swings can be brutal even if you mostly place value bets. Luckily this can be handled easily by a very simple rule: Personally I would recommend you never stake more than 1-2% of your bankroll on any given bet." 1-2 % is very little, I would recommend 20-30%, and you still made profit on the major. I lost too much allin in the last years placing bets on the very favorites.

Possible yes, but very very difficult: you have to consistently calculate game probabilities better than the gaming houses. And then you have to do it in the long term, surviving ups and downs to get a 5 - 10% annual return (so if you go in with 1000€, 1 year later expect 1100€ max).

2018-09-22 22:24
That has been said by many before you Sure some might succeed, but that's a very small minority. Do you really think you're better than that? Do you really think you can sustain that for a long time? What will you do when you grow older and you have no connections and no chance at an actual job? Trust me dude, I know you are just looking for people that confirm what you already think but IMO this is a very big mistake

I can only agree. I make some of my money from betting, but no way I would every try to live from it. But, everything I buy online (Games, CSGO Stuff and so on) aswell as all of my gaming Setup, I've gotten through betting.

yes, i will focus on both of them, and if betting doesnt work i might aswell just give up, I always bet on important matches, i hate tier2-tier3 matches, because of the matchfix. I deposited 183 eu, and now if astralis win i will have 380 eu, with medium bets. But i lost like 100eu on dreamhack final on astralis

yes, it's possible but much tougher than 2 years ago as the bookies have improved. i recommend following some twitter accounts who have proven positive % ROI, such as @Fragguh and @Cappeh. i've seen them tweet about their betting discord community, where they post their bets, for a time now, i haven't been into it as i'm not betting anymore but look it up.

Nah, Poker is so much easier, you have to invest quite a lot money into it if you want to become professional, learn ranges, math etc etc

That's what I'm saying. Poker is easier and still only 1 % is successful.

I want to do the same, specialize myself on CS:GO betting. I was an idiot placing bets on football , just for fun. Yes agree, its really hard. I read a few month ago, that only 2% of sportbettors is profitable in a long term. But if you can control yourself, use proper bankroll, and analyse properly the matches, its not impossible. Do you still doing it?

Ye you can , but u need to have big enough bankroll to actually make enough to live from. Also you can't start ragebetting when u lose a lot, hold tight on your bankroll. And last but not least you need to actually know about the teams :D

Ye I make bets, not living from it since I make quite small bets to live from. Just some pocketmoney. Also big thing is if you have a bad month and u lose a lot, you still need to pay rent if u do, eat and stuff. Bet only the money you can afford to lose EDIT: I would love to live from betting
2018-09-22 23:32
Mathematically the more times you bet, the more the bigger the chance is that you will lose. Your best bet is to make one huge AF bet and never touch betting again. try googling "Regression to the mean" and you will see.

this is true for blackjack/roulette where you never have mathematical edge vs the casino. with sports betting however, you will find good odds where you actually can have edge although the payout isnt 100%

you wont be able too live from it as you'd have way too much pressure. bad streak fucks you up and it will happen. if you keep working you'll have your safe income and can build a decent secondary income from betting if your good offcourse, and buy stuff from it or just put into your life savings who knows.

There are loads of guys here on hltv who are earning 100k+ a month from betting, but they wont talk to you since you are a nonamer, pros are betting aswell btw, family of players are betting aswell( on fixing games ofc) since 80% of the eastern european games are fixed , so you should just bet on majors and minors if you want serious games . ive been betting on csgo games for over 4 years, and i can say that i had infos about whos gonna win sometimes and not, east european games and asian games ,they are easy to pay.
2018-09-23 00:04
No one will ever share their methods on betting or investing, that's just a fact. No point in asking ppl how to make money on the internet, u just have to figure it out on your own...
2018-09-23 05:41
i have made $10k in a day multiple times, the secret to long term success is having monk level discipline.
2018-09-23 05:50
Betting on matches for long term profit is by far worst method. Lets say u bet on navi vs big or w/e team and s1mple and electronic is having a bad day and miss all their shot etc, mistakes player do that can cost them rounds/the game, upsets in bo1 matches lets say astralis vs vega, astralis should 80% win on the paper but in bo1 anything can happen. The risk to reward ratio aint worth it imo, especially since matchfixing is going on often in lower tier teams. Roulette and shit is better since its 50/50 pretty much and poker etc if you're good at it.
2018-09-23 06:18

There is a VERY slim chance you will make it. I made some good money live betting Astralis this year, definitely the easiest as they do comebacks after comebacks. But in order to do it in a long term, first you need to have discipline, good bankroll management, and definitely a sharp intuition. Idk if anyone has a model calculating edge for csgo win probabilty compare to the bookie odds so this is definitely an opportunity since e-sports in general have soft lines. I'd be better of betting football/mlb since there are plenty of matches to pick and bookies are bound to make mistakes in pricing.

So here's my personal opinion on this, even if you become a profitable bettor you shouldn't plant to make this your living till it is 2 or 3x your current income and has been this way for at least a year. Downswings will happen they can be very very painful and can be mentally hard to work through. Also in other areas of finance like the stock market many people had great success for a few years and decided to do it full time as it was out pacing their current income. They went on to make lots of mistakes because they began to over analyze events or games and would end up making poor decisions. Even if you are highly profitable unless you hate your job i'd suggest continuing to work a long with betting. Think of the betting or the job which ever as just supplemental income. Quitting your job to bet full time can lead to a host of issues. Also if you're very profitable and not working in a field you enjoy you can simply quit your job and move to a field in which you do enjoy the work. 1: Over analyzing of matches or games 2: Feeling you need to find bets or spending to much time searching for bets and making low quality bets 3: Have a terrible down swing and lose most if not all of bank roll and not have a job either.

You just need to be able to say no to matches that you are only slightly sure about (I have been betting for like 4 years and I still haven't learnt self control, so I only do small bets for fun because I know even if I get 10000% increase or whatever (10 to 250) I will still lose it because fuck this brain, can't even withdraw my starting budget rofl, also don't let your braon make up reasons why a team that you like will win, just skip those matches

I used to bet $1k-2k per match for at least $1k profit each match Here's some tips: I don't bet online match since you never know if they are trying to win or not Bet on BIG LAN tournament , don't bet on CIS / Chinese matches Aim for hit rate (I don't bet on underdog that much unless I think they will most likely to win) You don't lose money if you have good predictions Lastly , don't bet on SPORTS.

The problem is with limits so low you need a fantastical ROI over the long term, anything over 10% on an actually significant sample is savant territory. Nobody is making 100k a month or anything remotely close.
