what era?
2018-09-23 22:59
* Got shitted on by Astralis on Krakow Major. * Lost a bo3 to fucking Heroic. * Lost two bo3 to Liquid when they weren't as good as they are today. * Changed their roster in between. * No Major titles. * 2 of those 9 titles were tier3 DH Summer and cs_summit. Sorry but with these facts I stated SK's run in 2017 was nowhere near to be called an era.

After cologne 2016 they didnt win another tier 1 tournament until IEM sydney 2017. That's 10 months lol. Too much of a gap for a 2016-2017 era.

yeah you better not! they just came out of nowhere, dominated the scene and won 2 consecutive majors, fuck the monkeys Nice logic no flagger
2018-09-24 04:03
Yeah so? 2016: two majors within 3 months. To consider an "era" you need at least 5 or 6 consecutive months of dominance like Astralis had this year. 2017, like I previously stated: No Major wins, upsetted by Heroic and Liquid, destroyed 2-0 by Astralis, had a roster change in between so their roster wasn't the same throughout the year. Did NiP, Fnatic or Astralis changed their rosters during their eras? No Did they won Majors? Yes Did they get upsetted by shit teams? Probably, but most probably those were fluke performances from the other team like North's fluke performance on DH Stockholm.

liquipedia.net/counterstrike/Premier_Tou.. Only won 5 tier 1 tourneys last year. Impressive I must say, but I think they needed the atlanta or krakow major for a 2017 era. Just my two cents.
2018-09-24 04:09
blast pro series was a tier 1 tournament, all the top 5 teams at attended

If you wanna include a tournament with 6 teams and a BO1 round robin to determine which two teams are headed directly to the finals, by all means lol. My point still stands though.
2018-09-24 04:54
All top teams attented yes, but it had a shit format (literally one bo3 in the whole tournament).

Ranked #1 on this sight since April. Isn't that an Era? They have lost about 20-30 maps in the last 10 months. I would say that it is sort of an era.
2018-09-23 22:59
Uh no? Like #13 said top 1 for like 5 months, 5 tournaments won with a Major included and when they didn't win a tournament they either exited on semifinals or in the final.

Could one of the official HLTV PhD CS Historians (TM) please rise to the stands and show us a full timeline of all major events and who ruled that era of CS? The ignorance here right now hurts your fragile ego and years of HLTV lurking & shitposting. So from 1.3, 1.5, 1.6 and fnatic.css up until CSGO now please. Where were you when SpawN attempted a ninjadef on CPL 2005? Right, inside your dads balls.

2018-09-24 05:06
You need at least 5 big tournaments and 1 or 2 majors to get an era imo. Let's see how astralis plays the next 6 months, I'm hopeful tho
2018-09-24 04:13
They already have that :D

Yeah and what happened in between ESL One Cologne 2016 and IEM Sydney 2017? 0 tier 1 tournament titles. If you failed to win a tournament in a 10 months gap how can you consider it an era?

well sk didn't. they won only 1 event between those majors and din't won anything for next 10 months after second major. thats why it was not an era. winning 3 big events in a year won't give you an era. even faze & nv/g2 won 4 events in 2017..so did NV,tsm in 2015. fnatic and ldlc won 4 and 3 big events in 2014. none of them are eras. only eras are nip 2013 fnatic 2017 sk 2017 astralis is near an era.they just needs to win 2 or 3 events more. liquipedia.net/counterstrike/Premier_Tou..
