Device aint flashing for xyp9x when shit goes down bcuz 1) device awps and awps hold angles/peak both of which you need support for; if he is flashing for xyp9x to peak then he is wasting his awp, which will eventually happen for obvious reasons since each player can only carry so much, but to say devices role is also supportive is absurd, understand? He only supports when thats the last option avaiable
So no, every player throw nades for their teams, but not every player is supportive by default
Building off what #91 said and to answer your question he is a supportive player because he doesnt awp entry or IGL and plays very passively to allow aggressive players to do what they want. While at the same time assisting them more often than they are assisted by having great utility usage and flashing/nading for or going first in 2v1 2v2 3v2 3v3 situations so that the star players behind him can clean up the retake. He also takes the weaker spots on CT side such as b anchor on cache mirage and overpass.
The thing is you can look at Astralis and at any tournament you see every player stepping up and having impact in terms of fragging regardless of their role. So why is it okay for taco to be a support role but lack fragging power. On top of that we value IGL's who can also frag but we seem to accept support role players who can't.

True except maybe Mousesports I don't really see a sole "bottom fragger" atleast since they dropped Styko and Faze in their prime last year as well. Part of it is as a Liquid fan it pains me watching Taco losing a decent amount of rounds were its a "if he just hit that shot they would've won the round" thought in my head.

Hes not the entry on liquid, not even close. He rarely goes for first kills elige does most of the time with the help of twistzz. You dont even know the roles of the team hes on and yet you think you know the impact of specific players? Pathetic.
His game sense is actually amazing shown by that fact that the stars around him always seem to shine regardless of the team hes on, hes just not in a position to constantly be fragging, hes extremely sacrificial. It's clear you dont look past the scoreboard to see if players are having impact in the game.
