EVPs almost every event + an MVP at Belo Horizonte. He's definitely making top 5.
2018-10-11 04:33
dupreeh > Niko, they have pretty much the same rating while dupreeh is the entry and Niko is play-maker(aka, baiter) . Not to mention dupreeh won way more than Niko this year. To me, this year, dupreeh == electronic > Niko
2018-10-11 04:24
fallen won more than device last year, yet device was still ranked higher in top 20 (which was deserved imo). You have to take into consideration of everything like impact, rating, evp's, mvp's, etc. Also Niko isn't a baiter. He actually has a higher opening kills per round rating at big events in 2018 than dupreeh as well as total opening kills and success in opening duels. And roles don't mean anything when it comes to rankings, otherwise gla1ve would be 1 lol. Dupreeh is definitely top 5 though. 1. s1mple 2. Niko 3. device 4. electronic 5. dupreeh Also Niko tops device in most categories for Big Events in 2018, below s1mple lol. hltv.org/stats/leaderboards?startDate=20..

nah m8 as much as I want NiKo to be #2, device is probably taking it. The guy has 4 MVPs versus NiKo's one; both have equally numerous EVPs, though.

Filter in top 10 and you'll see how much niko drops :)
2018-10-12 04:36
No freaking way that niko will be before device. Slightly better ratings won't push him over like 4 mvps(major mvp aswell)

Mvp of ESL Pro League S7??
2018-10-12 08:00
4 mvp one being a major mvp >>>> a single mvp
2018-10-12 08:50
s1mple device electronic niko naf gla1ve twistz cold(statwise still the same) rest of astralis krimz(shitt he bed second half) autimatic(same but got fucked by his team) elige/guardian sunny(didnt peak like the rest but always above average and consistent)
2018-10-11 03:51
Twistzz > naf
2018-10-11 04:02
nah. apart from that last event and especially the final naf was better after playoffs. twistz always starts better at events statistically. but they reverse roles during playoffs. apart from ny. naf also gets top 5 in multiple categories like adr, assist numbers etc. also liquid became top 3 after naf arrived. naf also had that crazy lan streak of doing insane in events on renegades too. so he has been performing for like 15-16 months now.

tarik and stewie gonna be up there simply because major placements, tarik probably higher bc mvp
2018-10-11 03:54
no. cuz simply shit stats. stewie barely missed it last year according to tgwri1s he was 21st or 22nd. if anybody is gonna be on that list from the boston c9 roster it would be auti cuz he played like a top 5 player first 6 months of the year.

unless they have an absolutely shit end to the year, stew and tarik will 100% be on that list due to major accomplishments.
2018-10-11 06:19
just winning a major wont you put on a list so stewie will not make it tarik should though

yeah if only one of them makes it, it would be tarik, but I think they both will and if MIBR win a T1 event before the end of the year they'll 100% both be on there.

i think it's more likely stew makes than tim just based on accomplishments this year... it's hard to deny that MIBR have achieved far more and gotten much further than C9 after the roster changes.
2018-10-12 08:38
Stewie won't be there at all rofl...

As of right now (still few more months left): 1. s1mple, 5 MVPs and otherwordly stats 2. dev1ce, 4 MVPs and EVPs 3. NiKo, 1 MVP and a truckload of EVPs (at more than 70% of events he played) 4. electronic, amazing stats and EVPs 5. dupreeh/Magisk, I'd give to the edge to dupreeh due to an MVP at Pro League, but both can take the 5th spot tbf 6. NAF, great stats and EVPs This is more or less your Top 5 of 2018 right now.
2018-10-11 04:39
Wouldn’t either dupreeh or Magisk be 6th though, and then NAF 7th? But you have the exact same list as me ;P #30

Ohh yes another stupid "bestp player of 2018 Thread" and again Simple is on top. No Simple isnt the best player of the year, he havent won any big event other than maybe ESL One Cologne. Navi and Simple cracks when they get under pressure. simple was nowhere in the Major final against Astralis, you dont get to be the best player if u dont perform aginst the best. And the other CS is a teambased game, it stupid to try pick a best player, because dont matter if you are good and the rest of your team suck. Pick the best team and move on, so far its Astralis who dominated most of the year, what the future brings we dont know, but for now Simpe and the rest has lot to prove for the scene.
2018-10-11 13:36
lmao nt device fanboy s1mple has a 1.35 rating over all of 2018, 1.33 on LAN this year. you cannot possibly say that he isn't the best, he has everything - impact, rating, ADR, K/D difference, clutches. hes the only reason navi is relevant and for that reason he has to be #1
