as long as you have a good cpu, like i3 8100 or above, anything above a 1050 2gb will give you 250 + fps on low settings 1024x768

I just build my first pc a couple of days back. i3 8100 and gtx 1050 ti. fps is at 250+ all the time. It's a great gpu for the budget. But if you can go higher, get the 1060 tbh. It has slightly more value for money.

rx 570/580 ??? omegalul
2018-10-11 16:02
1060 > 580 570 just not worth to buy, either take 1050ti or 1060
2018-10-11 16:06
youtube.com/watch?v=1p9lySsrYcw They are pretty much the same and as gpu prices are falling due to crypto falling the rx 580 will be slightly cheaper than the gtx 1060 making it a better value overall
2018-10-11 17:08
I don't necessarily disagree, the cards have the same pure performance, while the rx is around 20€ cheaper! But the tdp of the rx 580 is around 60W higher (which will void the 30€ difference in around 2 years, and will benefit after), the gtx is cooler and quieter. But the main point for me are the driver interfaces, amd settings + amd relive vs nivdia settings + shadow play. Relive is garbage nothing else, honestly garbage. It does not only triggers stuttering and input lag in csgo for example it also doesn't work on some cards (for me it is not working on r290 and hd7870 while it is working on r390) also it has just way less options and a buggy interface. Amd settings doesn't even allow u to change HZ or the monitor setup..... Nvidia Shadowplay is working on my 780 and my 1060 (780 comparable to r290 from age, just to make that one clear), it almost has no impact on fps, has many options and a clean and well thought interface.
2018-10-11 17:25
I don't think he's implying you NEED a NVIDIA GPU for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, but that NVIDIA graphics cards have better value for money than AMD, so any purchase of an NVIDIA GPU is going to be more worthwhile than an AMD purchase.

by good he means something that's more than enough to play entry level games.. he isn't talking about those integrated gpus, but those dedicated ones that are getting old but are still enough to play some games. I had 100 fps with my 6yo pc, which had a gt 130 gpu and a quad 2 cpu
2018-10-11 15:51
Given that you say in your name 'mylifeisgreat', you appear to be very salty. HLTV user 'OJSimpson_' said 'u don't really need a good gpu to run csgo'. He says you 'don't REALLY'. Emphasis on really. Really, in the English language, would imply that to a certain extent you do, but not to any kind of extreme. Before you make responses like this, please expand your comprehension of the English language. - SpoonzS
2018-10-11 15:54
The question was which gpu could run csgo 250+ fps and after getting an answer like that id be pissed too. That doesnt help at all when choosing which gpu to buy. He is just saying what like 10000 others have already.
2018-10-11 16:24
Any GPU from the last 3 years can run Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at 250+ FPS. People should take these questions to Google before HLTV.
2018-10-11 16:48
Black and white is all you see. Just because a gpu isn't good doesn't mean it's absolute thrash.
2018-10-11 17:36
1050ti/1060/rx570/rx580 dont need a 1070 or higher, invest more into CPU and fast ram

not true for csgo. even intel benefits from faster low latency ram. youtube.com/watch?v=_QMeTdK6e4I 5:38 for csgo
2018-10-11 15:22
it's because 2133Mhz has CL 16 timings wtf, that's unfair comparison because every 2133Mhz stick runs atleast on CL 14 and you can make it even lower. CL 16 is meant for high speed RAMs 2666 and above not 2133Mhz.
2018-10-11 16:15
#89
 |
World ZMDR
Sure, but 3000mhz memory are using higher quality ICs in general, most of them being samsung b-die. If your typical 2133 kit runs cl14 then a b-die kit at 2133 would do cl11 or something like that. It will make a difference for sure, but its up to you to decide whether its worth it or not. If I was rich I would defs go for higher clocked memory.
2018-10-11 16:20
I have 3200 Mhz ram atm and I didnt really care what the speed is. This guy has video with 2133Mhz Ram at cl14 and 3000 Mhz at cl16 and difference was 10-15 fps at max and sometimes even or very close.
2018-10-11 16:33
Here is good example of all this nonsense youtube.com/watch?v=CfjJWmMFPIg

 |
World ZMDR
yep, those results are both completely understandable. both memory kits are using the same ICs. just one with higher clocks and looser timings, one with lower clocks and tighter timings. total latency comes out to be the same. thats not what happens in my video though, 2133 sticks have low quality ICs that have both looser timings and lower clocks than most 3000 sticks.
2018-10-11 16:50
Correct but as you do now, when we talk about rams we should talk about that its an overall technology inside RAM that affects its performance, rather than just single clock-speed.
2018-10-11 17:28
#134
 |
World ZMDR
yeah, it just that the "technology inside" tends to be better in higher clocked memory most of the time.

THE best right now is the i7 8700k. But the i5 8400 has the best price performance for CSGO. GPU is not important. A GTX 1050 2gb does the Job. But If you play other games such as Battlefield and PUBG, a GTX 1060 must be on your starter pack.

csgo: 1280*1024 stretched (csgo fps i told you was with fresh windows after re-install) but 299 fix i get on net graph 99% of my game btw, i was gonna buy the 4790k as well, but i stayed with the 4 threads, since the pc was bought for csgo. I really belive that my i5 can squeze more fps out in the 4 thread supported games, then the i7 4790. my toughts, and setup build. maybe im wgrong in this case

No reason for the best GPU. CS GO is about skills. It’s like the stupid amatuer cyclist that buys the same cycle as the pros thinking it will make him drive much faster.. It requires training.

Have tried in competition that some guy were pragging about that he has a crazy computer and much better than the rest of the team. He used that as an argument for why we should drop the best weapons to him. But his skills was crap.. lowest on the scoreboard and first guy to die in most round.. Skills always above equiptment
2018-10-11 17:06
Lower fps actually gives you an advantage due to the higher input lag.
