Obviously I was refering to french people my 200IQ friend. And i am not in particular talking about CS, but the french people in general. I have been in France 3 times, one of them in Paris, and litterally only 1 out of 10 people could answer me a question (in English obv.)

physics. even tho both deal with rather abstract concepts, physics is much harder, especially at university level.
2018-10-18 02:07
depends on which level you're taking it at, who you're learning it from, and where you're learning it. at least at american universities i'd say that chem is probably harder at lower levels because its a pretty common premed prerequisite. low level physics also generally has artificially inflated difficulty because it's an engineering prereq, but engineering is more laid back than premed usually so it's less of a slog i'd say. higher level physics and chem are both challenging, though at least at the undergraduate level i'd say that much of chem's difficulty comes from the university wanting to crush premed students' balls. past a certain point though, physics is much more difficult.

It really depends physics 1 is easier than chem 1 from my experience and I’m taking physics 2 now and that’s a pain in the ass because i actually have to study (which I don’t) and I’m doing really bad xD

It’s just basic physics shit it’s a required class for engineering majors even though I have no plan on doing anything with electricity
2018-10-18 20:06
Oh okay nvm then
2018-10-18 20:17
Kinda biased as a chemist but it really depends on what you are talking about when it comes to it. A lot of chemistry can get pretty out there and overly complicated. At the same time I know people who are looking at how light interacts with different nanoparticles and that stuffs way past my understanding of physics.

yea once u start looking at the behavior of particles at a quantum lvl things become extremely complicated and abstract, chemistry also touches upon the quantum theory and mechanics in upper division classes
2018-10-18 07:47
Organic chem is hard af. FUCK. I've only taken lower level physics so idk.
2018-10-18 02:56
Nah it's not. Physical chemistry however, that's a whole other beast

If you are good at maths, the Physics tends to be a lot easier as half the time you are remembering equations when it comes to forces and motion. Chemistry is tends to be easy if you know how to revise it properly but still a lot of theory, however still not that hard if you are good at maths. In the end of the day, in my opinion chemistry and physics is easy/hard depending on how good you are at maths, due to the amount of critical thinking required.

you only need basic mathematical knowledge for both physics and chemistry just need a functioning brain.

I have studied both. I woulnd't say either is easier, they have difficult topics but chemistry teaching has often focus on easier topics. If you study physics, it is typically easier to learn chemistry later but the opposite might not be true. Also, in physics you need to master also mathematics but you will also get a better paid job. Finally, pick the one you are most interested in.
